Original Post by mollymouser: The "Seefood Diet." I see food, I get to eat it! |

Okay, I think digigirl already won the prize for the best answer. I have to agree with her! I'll take the "seefood diet", too. I just LOVE food and I LOVE variety, too. So I don't think I could pick one thing or even one type of food. ~ Beth |

Hmmm, I would choose the Bacon, French Fries, Ranch Dressing and potato chip diet. |

In your wildest dreams, what sort of diet would you like to see
(assuming you could actually eat healthy and lose weight doing it? This
is a fantasy question, so have some fun!
The coffee, cake, and ice cream diet... in my birthday suit. Because those are birthday foods In reality... I'm happy with the diet I'm on, consisting of healthy food choices. Last night I had a great meal (dinner meal 1) that contained chicken, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and green bell pepper, all stir fried in sesame seed oil (and a VERY LITTLE bit of it). If I ate the whole thing, it would have been 810 calories, but since I had saved it in fourths (it was a good 6 cups of food I made!), I only had about 202.5 calories. And now I have three more light meals, two of which I'm having tonight (one at 4:30, and one at 9:30). With my healthy meal choices, I feel much better. I have everything I need each day, and I wake up refreshed (except this morning, because the last full meal I had before bed was a Double Cheeseburger and Medium Fries from McDonalds, as dinner meal 2). One thing I'd like to bring up is how seriously emotionally sick I get from MSG, and that's why I have given up fast food. MSG overexcites the receptors for dopamine in the brain, and due to this overexcitation, the receptors die, and your brain does not get the dopamine it needs for normal function. Basically what it does is make you happy and jittery for a while, and then causes an intense low. In my case, I suffer from an immense bout of depression. Last night, I had that problem. I was happy, talking to my boyfriend, and then suddenly around 10 p.m. last night I was tired and I was crying on the phone to my boyfriend that I couldn't stand being alone and I just wanted him here to hold me. |

QOD: June 18- I love pickles :) My grandma has always made sweet pickles and relish...yummy! I love dill as well though. Bread and butter are not my favs...but I can still appreciate them. :) I don't eat all that many pickles anymore because of their sodium content though. :( QOD: June 19- I'd like the "Espinaca dip & restaurant style totilla chip" diet please :) lol----Oh and can't forget the margaritas! |

Q 6.17.08: I need to work on decluttering my life. I have too much stuff sitting around that I don't use or can't use because I've got too much other junk in the way. Time to sell some stuff on ebay. It's time that my house and office at work got on the CC diet. Minus a bit of junk everyday or plus some cleanup. Q 6.18.08: I love baby dill pickles. Those are the only kind that I love although I don't mind most of the deli pickles. Q 6.19.08: I'd like the diet where all of the food preparation and shopping is done for me and it's magically balanced and tastes great. I guess I need a wife!

OK, I've decided that I crave spicy food (1) when it's hot; (2) when I have PMS; and (3) when I'm tired of eating super-healthy food. Guess what? All three are hitting at the same time, lol!!! I splashed chili sauce all over my dinner tonight ... now my tongue hurts! Oh well. When I get "tired" of drinking water, I switched to crushed ice with some sort of flavoring ... or I make my own smoothie or shake with at least a dozen ice cubes. It just sort of makes it easier, ya know? My wonderful DH called today for a quick call. He is still trying to get permission to come home a week or two early from his deployment.... and that is still just at the request/maybe stage. BUT, they are already saying that they want him to come back for 60+ days in fall/winter (not counting training and travel time, mind you ... so it's more like 75 days.) BUT (and this is a big BUT), instead of returning to Iraq, he may may may may may may may may get to spend 60 days in Florida instead -- serving as an instructor pilot. So, for those of you so inclined, please pray/send good thoughts that the military "powers that be" let him come home early and if he has to leave for 60 days in the fall, he heads to FLORIDA. Original Post by mollymouser: I try to get a lot of variety, but these are foods that I eat almost every day: -strawberries -bananas -broccoli -cottage cheese -tofu Also, I'm not really ready to call it a staple, but I've started adding a protein shake pretty often. It's 220 calories, but has 21 grams of protein and tons of iron, calcium, and other goodies. (It's the Kashi Go Lean one.) I'm still on the first canister, and I got it on sale. I haven't decided whether I'll get another, but it is pretty nice having a chocolate milkshake on a warm afternoon! |

Hmmmmmm. Green Giant Frozen Green Beans with Almonds (no sauce) Balance Bars (Trail Mix kind with low GI). I eat these in the morning before early workouts. Fage 2% yogurt with strawberry Chicken Sausages Almonds (I love Vanilla Bean Almonds, Wasabi and Soy Almonds and Garlic and Onion Almonds) Oooh, and Snyder's Soy Crisps in Parmesan, Garlic and Olive Oil (a tasty snack that satisfies my salty craving but add protein and fiber) And, for me, frozen meals of a million varieties. I work in an office, and have a 2.5 hour commute. I pretty much always make dinner, but these are my go-to for lunches b/c they enable me to have portion control, plus I'm not troubled by sodium. Good quality milk and dark chocolate (I eat maybe 3 tiny squares a few times a week at night for a treat) Morningstar Farms Cheddar Burger veggie burgers and mini corn dogs. Ok, that's more than 5, I'll stop now! Also, I can't believe it, but I have actually lost 3.6 pounds this week, putting my plateau firmly behind me. It's been such a long time since the scale kept moving down every day that I was quite shocked. I just wonder how long this treat will last :) I imagine or hope that at worst I will go back to my normal 1.5 pounds to 2 pounds a week next week. But if my body wants to keep this up, that would be great! |

Melly: Congratulations on the weight drop this week and beating your plateau! I've also hit a milestone with this morning's weigh in. SW 204, CW 194 - I've lost my first 10 lbs! And it's been a little less than one month since I started, too. YEAH! Ya'll have a blessed weekend, ~ Beth |

Original Post by mollymouser: South Beach Living Protein Bars FiberOne Yogurt Chopped up fruit (strawberries, melons, whatever looks good at the market) SteamFresh Veggie Singles packets South Beach Living Frozen meals for work lunches For dinner, I try to cook fresh, but breakfast is usually on the run, hence the granola bars, and lunch is at work, hence the frozen meals. Melly, glad to hear your plateau has broken, but I think it came to me instead! Last week I only lost half a pound and this week the scale said I GAINED pound, which I find hard to believe, since I'm still averaging less than 1500 calories a day! So, the dreaded plateau may be here. Ugh. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's just "one of those weeks" and I'll see a loss next Wednesday. Valerie |
