| Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's. We can all use support. Today I am focusing on all the food groups. Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30. A Super long day. I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today. | ||

Welcome unicat, djrizzo, messam !! Good to see so much activity here..
Yay on the loss Unicat!! Thats awesome! Hhbroadbent - hang in there - Things should get better.. Kiigan, Teenwolf : I'm still sore :( 2nd day after my 10 minutes abs :D.. I guess I'm at a pre- beginner level :D.. I tried some abs today after a 1 day gap and it still hurts! Any ideas ? Teenwolf- I totally agree @ big workout/hike on weekends.. It keeps me and hubby focussed on fitness goals and its so much fun! Srd- I can tell you that hubby and me get a lot of time to talk about meaningful stuff.. and I feel so much closer since we started going on hikes together. I mean- weekdays are too hectic to really talk ! We usually get too busy getting something or other done.. The hikes are great for us in every way.. Jenniferdiane : its never too late to get back on track..! And it looks like you havent done too much damage. :D Just reassess your goals and get motivated like new all over again !! If anything- this could be the boost you needed to get back ! I'm still at 148 for almost 10 days inspite of doing everything right :P.. This is my second mini-plateau after 150.5 :D..(doesnt qualify as a plateau since its not over 2 weeks and there have been some minor fluctuations up AND down). Ok- I'm trying some plateau buster stuff I read up on the internet : cut down on carbs, change workout schedules.. Any more ideas welcome :). Ok- take care and keep on track all :) |

I am around 145 now....sometimes more, sometimes less ;) and like many of you I am hoping to reach 130! I see that a lot of you are doing well - Congrats :) Shamefully, I actually don't have any 'friends' on here yet so check out my profile and add me if you want to discuss. Talk to you all soon. |

Hi unicat, cunner, djrizzo... I've been on here awhile (hi again carabo and kilgan...) I was doing so well - kept motivated etc. but then between a trip and several social engagements I started slipping. Good thing I realize that I actually MISS calorie counting and my friends here on 140/130. Thanks for the good wishes! Today wasn't so bad. I want to get back to my 500 daily deficit. I know I can do it. I have to get back to realizing I'm not REALLY that hungry. But I had a healthy day today so I'm hopefully on the right track. I think I'll go celebrate with some cheesecake.... JUST KIDDING!!! |

lmao.. yum cheeeeeeesecake :) sounds good lol... uhhhmmmm... i gotta go.. lol... j/k honestly... drinking tons of water will help keep you feeling fuller... and a lot of the time, most people mistake thirst for hunger.. |

hey cunner!!! welcome to the 140/130 group!!! i love it here but i'm hoping to leave eventually! no offense anyone :) i'm stuck at a plateau now--my weight actually went up over the weekend (not a huge surprise given my eating) but it's lowering now...maybe it'll just keep on going!!! i can dream :) carabo--my recommendation for muscle soreness is to exercise, but at a VERY low intensity. it gets the muscles warm and i find that it usually helps reduce the soreness. so maybe not regular ab work, but just some light cardio or something. and LOTS of stretching. :) but don't do anything hardcore until the soreness is almost all gone (or all gone). glad to see you back jen! the important thing is that you came back after some indulgence and are ready to get back on track!!! that's where i'm at right now with my eating. exercise has stayed really good--but my food was SOOO bad. anyone have tips for getting in more water consumption? i don't need to add any flavors, but it's just hard to get myself to keep sipping once i leave work. any suggestions for motivation??? |

this may not be the best advice Kil... but I find that drinking the lemonade flavor of crystal lite has me constantly thirsty so I drink more. I know you said you don't need to add flaovr... I just find the the lemonade makes me consistently thirsty. Also I carry around an Eddie Bauer sport bottle - that helps a lot! |

today is going to be great I have squadron PT.. push-ups, sit-ups and 1.5 mile run... last week i ran it in 13:58. This week im going to try and make it down to 13:00, maybe sprint the last lap or sumthin. Im looking forward to it though. It was out of control yesterday well kinda anyway. Reading my journal u would know that it was no holds bars and i enjoyed myself. So i came to work yesterday with my lunch (tuna, grapefruit, 100 calorie oreos, and some carrots). i kid u not but by 830 i was starving. When I think about it i was hungry all day, feeling like i didnt eat a drop. I didnt run my usual yesterday i just did my Slim in six and was cool wit it weighed myself afterwards and i was 148.5 which was fine with me since up until recently i was still in the 150's. i had to go to walmart and get some spaghetti sauce.. stopped for an ice cream cone and shared it with my daughter, along with 1/2 a slice of lemon cake..... felt kinda bad and good at the same time.. today im back on track and my lunch consists of smartones beef pot roast, carrots 100 calorie oreos and 1/2 a grapfruit. Just ate the grapefruit and im not now im not feeling hungry so this should be a good day. whats everyone else having for lunch? |

Not sure yet... for lunch I love a big bowl of soup. I was surprised to learn the Campbells Slect (chunky style) ranged anywhere from 200-300 for the whole can. I have that and a small salad with about 40 cals of dressing. However, last night I made couscous. 1/2 cup is about 100 cals. I mix in broccoli, spinach, spray butter (zero cals) and low-fat parmesan. Yummy! Then again, I have leftover grilled salmon. About 3 ozs. I can top a salad with that and have a sugar-free pudding. So many choices! My friend is on weight watchers so she is emailing all kinds of restaurants (chain and local) and asking for nutritioninfo. She is coming up with so much for me! We have pdf's of lots of places. |

Good morning! Kick some serious butt on your PT today messam! Lunch today? I had 1/2 c. brown rice, 1c. corn, and 1/2 a chicken breast. I cook everything the night before then eat it as a cold salad for lunch. It's a lot of work, but it keeps my sodium intake down and plus I don't really care for packaged foods. I have never tried to make couscous--i always plan to but never get around to it--how is it nutritionally? On the water, keep a water bottle near you at all times--then you are apt to remember to sip from it. I hate TTOM water gain--so discouraging-- waterwaterwater! Dee |

Hi Dee - I love couscous - it gives the feeling of pasta / carb satisafaction but without lots of carbs & calories. I get the Trader Joe whole wheat kind. I know you can find wheat couscous at most grocery stores. So it's high in fiber and pretty good for you. I also don't eat a lot at one time. 1/3 cup dry makes about a cup of couscous and I only eat 1/2 cup so that's 110 calories. |

hmm...i may have to try this couscous sensation :) i've had it before--just never even considered making it myself :) my lunch today is a REALLY big spinach salad. about 3 cups of spinach, some chopped celery and carrots, a hard-boiled egg, peas, and low fat caesar dressing. yum! it's AMAZING how much spinach you can eat and still get like, no calories :) i also had some yoplait non-fat yogurt and an apple for pre-lunch snacks :) i eat something pretty much every two hours or so at work :) it's kind of ridiculous :) heehee. and yogurt was on sale at the grocery store yesterday, so i bought like, 20 of 'em, and the clerk was like, "so you like yogurt?" it was funny :) |

good morning all! carabo - just stretch your tummy muscles and don't do abs again until they don't hurt anymore or until they don't hurt very much. continue with all normal exercise though. once your abs don't hurt, do your routine again. btw, that must be one tough set of ten minutes!! i have a hard time getting my abs sore anymore. kiigan - hey, at least you saw the scale move this week - LOL!!! now you know it's not broken! i wouldn't have too many high hopes of weight loss this week since st patty's day is part of it and all ... ;) but good luck to you all the same! you convinced me to work out like a maniac this week seeing that that day is arriving shortly. Less than 2 weeks to my New York trip! whoo!! alright, today is tuesday, my weigh in day. i weighed myself this morning before drinking water and after going pee. i weighed 145.5 ... my 10 lb first mini goal!!! then i drank some water and i prolly shouldn't have, but i weighed myself again and it now says 146.0. Can I still count this as making it?? |

go with the lower one :) i always do, LOL :) well, see, i'm hoping that i'll have another big water weight drop before this weekend so i'll hit a new low :) i have no delusions of MAINTAINING a new low weight--but just maybe I'll have a miracle, LOL :) it's just been a while since I've seen a new low, and I used to have one every week :( *sniffle* but yes, wolfie, you're right, the scale did move :) |

morning all :) kiigan do you drink water with your meals?? i literally take a drink of water between each bite of food... i can drink a whole 24 oz bottle at one meal doing this... have fun at PT this morning Messam.. my husband is doing PT this morning too.. he has his weighin on friday i think.... for lunch today i am having an english muffin with 1/2 serving of some kind of turkey (prepackaged, and only 1/2 serving cos its sooo high in sodium), with a slice of ff cheddar cheese, and probably an activia yogurt... wow,dee.. already had lunch lol.. of course its only 615 am here, so i just ate breakfast lol... teenwolf congrats on reaching your mini goal :) whooohooo :) ugh, okay, so i dont know what i did, but i gained a half lb back :( i did taebo yesterday (with resistance bands) so maybe muscle?? everything else was right where it should be... sodium level was fine... the only other thing i can think of is that i drank 24 oz less of water?? i have been drinking 6-24 oz bottles everyday and i only drank 5 yesterday??? :( got a busy morning today, gotta do my "biggest loser 2 workout" and shower, then running around with one of my friends for the morning... hope all are having a good tuesday.... ~Brigitte~ |

brigitte- i wouldn't worry at all about a half pound. i bet if you weigh yourself tomorrow it'll be better. sometimes it just happens. btw, your day sounds fun!! i have to complete a bunch of spreadsheets this morning, ewe! my lunch today is a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread w/ chipotle mustard and a slice of low fat provolone cheese. my snacks today, between lunch and dinner are a LF string cheese, a NF light yogurt and a grapefruit cup. i know, lots of snacks, but i get really hungry between lunch & dinner and i want the energy to workout before dinner! :) |

i wouldn't worry about a half pound fluctuation--fluctuating is TOTALLY normal. my weight will sometimes yo-yo by up to 3 lbs from day to day (example--i'm two lbs lighter than i was yesterday). i do drink a lot of water with meals. it's all i drink, really. at work i do really well--i can usually drink about 60 oz before i go home, but once i'm home, i just, i dunno. it's not sitting right in front of me and i move around a lot so i just forget about it. i have a small nalgene, so i think i'm going to try bringing that with me EVERYWHERE and see if it helps. |
