Down 16.2 lbs since starting CC--sometimes it's hard for me to remember where I started, when you only see the scale go down 0.60 in a week....but then I look at the start weight and I will take it!!! Downward progress is downward progress no matter how you look at it, huh?

Well I have been off my diet for a few weeks now. I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago, and have just enjoyed not being so vigilant in my diet. To my surprise, I lost the 2kg that I gained over the few days I was in hospital. It was TTOM and had a lot of extra IV fluid with the operation. I was really surprised at how little pain there was. I was pain free after 2 days, compared to how I was after having the gastric tumor removed, and gall bladder operation had 4 stab sites compared to 3 for the tumor removal. I think being 60lb lighter was the biggest help. Having the surgery was the whole reason I was pushing myself to lose weight, I had hoped to be under 90kg (198lb) so I was really pleased to get to 85kg (187lb). My Dr was really pleased, and she said that I am now her inspiration! how cool is that!
To tell the truth, I am really happy with how I look, I now fit into a size 12 (8 US) and I would be happy staying here, but I need to lose the last 50lb because it is the best for my pelvis. Either lose the weight, or have a hip replacement at 35, some choice aye.
I see the family this Thursday, I cannot wait to see their reaction, I am nearly 30lb lighter than the last time I saw them, and they don't know I have continued on losing weight. Wish me luck!

future_tadddei...I have a feeling this is your week!!! I am almost as excited to see you say goodbye to the 190's as I am about the prospect of me saying goodbye to it!! LOL!
I realized the other day, that since I have started using this site and my heart rate monitor, I have really started to enjoy exercising! It's a challenge for me to strive for a certain amount of calories--and so it's almost become a game. And now that I'm getting into it, I find that I am so energized by the workout as well as the weight loss. I used to try to work out for a while and get frustrated because I wouldn't see any results. But since I started doing this, I have realized how hard you actually have to work to get this crap off! Thank you so much to all of you for holding me accountable and helping me to finally learn after 34 years what it actually takes to lose weight!!!
I'm so proud of all of you that's fantastic. I'm loosing all hope as i have been working my but off since June 5 to six days of week 3 days weight training and cardio and my weight won't come down. I'm on anti depressents which I think may be hurting my progress but I have been eating healthy only cheating sometimes and it just won't budge. I don't know what to do. Please HELP!

Hey dbaird99! How many calories a day are you taking in? What are your stats? Are you strictly counting--or are you estimating? If you are estimating, you may want to measure stuff for a couple of weeks, because you might be overestimating.
Also, sodium intake...that can derail your progress, so try to keep that in check and drink lots and lots of water!
Don't give up hope! You are on the right track if you are exercising that often--it's a great habit to get into. But you do need to make sure you are consuming enough fuel for your body so that you don't go into starvation mode. Give us your stats and maybe we can give you some other tips!

update... 194 now. was at 192 in the middle of the week but yesterday was tempted to inhale lots of fantastic cheese... but the trend is going dooown. happy about it, and hope evenryone else has success in their weight loss too..

Its been a while since I have posted but here are my stats as of today.

This is my first time posting. I'm so excited to find other people in similar situation to myself.
Starting weight: 207 (In April of this year)
Current weight: 212 (Yuck! Gained 5 lbs)
Goal Weight: 160
Height: 5'5"
Need to lose 52 lbs. My daily calorie count is supposed to be 1601 to meet that goal, and today I'm already there. It's only lunch time, and I haven't eaten lunch yet.
I need something to keep me from being hungry and I need to plan better. Any suggestions are welcome.

So I am down 3.4lbs this week and 24.2lbs in total!!
AND i made the 170s!! Woooo Hoooo!! I'm so chuffed. More and more people are noticing, which is lovely. And i'm loving picking stuff to wear for the day because things fit so much better!! I can wait to lose another 11 pounds and then i can get out all my old size 14 UK (size 10 US) clothes that i have stored away.
Anyway enough of me rambling. Hope you all had a great week!
