I hadnt but looked it up - Johnson Upday Downday Diet?  Every time I come to this thread, I see the first reply which was J3nn's back in December where she said she was cycling her calories.  It sounds similar and Ive also seen reference to this as zigzagging.

Wishing you luck with it.  BTW if for any reason it doesnt work out, you might consider South Beach Diet - its been very reliable for me plus the first two weeks is like diet bootcamp which usually means a bigger weight loss start making it good for those who've plateaued.  Fingers crossed for you with JUDDD!!

Well, April has been a horrible month for me. I have eaten way too much. It's not that I have eaten a lot of junk; I have just eaten too much. I go to the doctor on May 1st and dread the lecture I'm going to get. When I got weighed at her office last month I only showed a loss of 2 lbs (5 lbs according to my scale at home), and she was upset. I'm sure I will show a gain this month. Here's to a much better May. At least, I now have to mow my yard. Ten years ago it took 45 min, it now takes over 2 hrs to do. Of course ten years ago I weighed 100 lbs less. I just have to hope that next month will be better.

Sorry to hear about your April - its just one month of many though.  February was my bad month but we can only put them behind us and commit to ourselves to make the next months better.  Lawn mowing sounds like a workout BTW.

Looking forward to our numbers and will be posting our progress as a group.  Summers looming up there and a great reason to focus on trimming down - less clothes, heat, more skin :P - how good it will feel then if we take advantage now of upcoming May and June.

I've been so busy but wanted to check in and let everyone know that I lost another 4.5 lbs last week which officially put me under 300 lbs.. and boy did I celebrate, pretty much had a free weekend.. where I wasnt to bad just had a meal each day of stuff i wanted (burger..pizza) however I did drink, way too much. but it was worth it, had an awesome time and now Im back on track.. under 300 feels great. 1st time in 10 years (12 y/o)

I also finally cut that ugly mop Id been growing off my head and updated my picture if anyone wants to see..

I want one of those weeks!  Jack, that photo made me go OMG - what a transformation.  The short hair looks great but what really threw me was how your face has slimmed down.  Granted Im on the old CC classic which doesnt show pictures with names but your jawline is so defined with your weightloss.  Id stick with the short cut - very flattering.

Up all night/ morning cleaning upstairs.  After many hours, noticed that I was smelling from sweating (Im thinking its bad when you can notice it yourself) but actually felt good knowing Id worked up that much of a sweat tearing those rooms apart.  Vacuuming the stairs alone was a beating but really wanting to come in well with just 2 days left.  So no sleep following several naps yesterday - will try to turn this sleep pattern around.
Jack, I agree with jayne that your face has slimmed down considerably. You have lost alot of weight. Good for you!

Jayne, I am chalking up the first 4 months of this year as months gone bad, but May 1st will start the beginning of a successful adventure in weight loss.

Did I mention that May 2nd I start hydrotherapy?  I am looking forward to that. I would love to hear from anyone out there who has done this before and how it affected your pain or weight management.
Pam, never heard of hydrotherapy but sounds like a swim workout.

Put me down at 294 for this weigh in. Not terrific but better than I expected.

Youve started us off andria for May 1st and congrats on your drop!  Molly and freethrow have also provided updates for May 1st, both with losses - good job guys!

A lot of ups and downs this month, but managed to lose 2 pounds, so I'm happy. My goal is to get under 300 by Memorial Day. :)

Great job, shnitzel!  Yes, this month (from what I read - I'm not spying on you!) you did have one helluva crazy, stressful month!  I was stressed out this month and didn't exercise much at all and the semester is ending.  My lowest weight of April was 231.5 last Friday, but then TTOM started Sunday night and I am just coming off that "bloat."  So I count 232 from this morning and 8 lbs lost for April.  But hey, that's 73 lbs total lost!  Hurrah!

My next mini-goal is to weigh 225 by June 16th - that will be 80 lbs lost and 40 lbs to my big goal.  I think I can do it! Y'all have a great May!

current weight is now 260.  only lost 6 for april.  seems to be my new average!  :(

Ha!  327.7 - I gained a lb this week eventhough I was stricter than a drill sergent but its all good.  Expect it to balance out next week but would have preferred it not occur on monthly weigh in :P. 

Good to hear more losses :D!  Im all about mini goals too - running a bit behind but I will catch up for June 28th, my one year anniversary.  Watchmeshine, 6 lbs is 6 lbs - good job!

MAY 1: 239 lbs.

LOSS: 17 lbs.

TOTAL: 81 lbs.

i feel wonderful. i have not been in the 230's in over 3 years and i am super excited. i had a couple plateau's in the past couple months, but i have broken through them and am still cookin'. doing much much more at the gym and feeling good about it. i'm getting there people. only 54 more until my main goal. woo hoo!

congrats to you all for losing. even if it's only a few pounds, a loss is better than a gain. so don't beat yourself up. keep on keepin on.

Definately hit a plateau for over a week this month but broke through and now am going for it.  I started my weight loss at the beginning of the year. 

I had a major incentive for losing weight as my parents gave my husband and daughter a tremendous Christmas gift of a vacation to Walt Disney World and the Ocean for 10 days all expenses paid.  We leave on May 31st and I have a goal of 365 when we go.  I can't wait! 

Anyone that has been to Walt Disney World and close to my size that could give me any tips about rides, walking or not overeating, please email me!  I could use all the tips I can get.

Anyway, I am very motivated to continue this weight loss journey beyond the trip and looking forward to January, 2009!

Guys - our numbers are DROPPING!  After we've got the updates done, I will post our monthly losses and its impressive.  The commitment since January is nothing less than impressive!

Michelle - didnt gain the weight til after leaving FL but you will burn some serious calories a day at Disney.  Watch hydration for sure.  BTW Brett, you are on fire with those numbers.  Thinking back to January when we signed on and have made so much of these months.  Way to go group!
