Good Evening Ladies,
Della & Jenny, I hope you enjoy the balance ball as much as I do. It is such a simple concept but gives a terrific workout. I wobble and tumble but enjoy it just that much more. My dogs have learned the hard way to keep a safe distance when I'm on it. I have fallen off and landed on them more than once. Jenny, your gym idea is fantastic and I admire your solution to the birthday cake delema. Della, I am impressed with the inches lost. You are really making progress, I don't care what the scales say!
Ro & Becky, congratulations on the lbs lost! You have climbed another mountain.
Betty, I am glad that you are starting to regain your strength. I do hope that you will be back to normal for you dream vacation. It sounds like the vacation of a lifetime.
I have read all the words you have written about the Walk Away the Pounds dvd, so, on impulse, I bought one yesterday at Wal Mart. When I got out to the car I saw it said Walk Away the Waistline (not pounds) and is a 3 mile workout. I tried it tonight and I see why you like it so much. The first mile flew by. I was about 3 minutes into the second mile when the phone rang and I had to stop. I am looking forward to doing it again, hopefully tomorrow. I see why you like Leslie Sansone so much. She makes it feel more like play than work. I also got one of those fat calipers, but darned if I know how to use it. Actually, I know how just not where. I'll figure it out, I'm sure. Going to do a little research.
Have a great evening everyone. Cheryl
Hi everyone!
Betty, I’m so envious hope you have the time of your life. Never been to Hawaii, but I hear it is great.
Ladies, sorry to hear about the migraines; what do you take for them. I used to take Vioxx for mine until they took it off the market. Now I take Celebrex, yes they are an arthritis drug but for some reason they help my migraines.
Becky, hang onto that husband. When he starts noticing it’s a very good incentive.
Oh the cravings for sweets. I have always been a potato chip girl; I don’t understand why now all of a sudden I would jump threw hoops for a Little Debbie. I gave in and got myself an angel food cake. I tried to keep it as low cal as possible. O well, I’m not giving up nothing good every came easy. Jenny
Good Evening everyone!
I have been packing boxes, getting ready for our spring garage sale. My poor son... I had been putting everything for the sale into his closet and he said "Mama.. it looks like a hurricane hit my closet! I can't get in there!" LOL!! So I went to the store and got a bunch of boxes today and sorted all the sale stuff then put them (neatly of course) in his closet until our sale a week from this Friday. Some girl is going to be very lucky to have such a neat hubby when the time comes LOL!!!
Went BOWLING with the family yesterday. I am amazed at how much energy I have on a daily basis now! It's incredible! I did my jogging on Sunday again... THAT still amazes me. I never thought I'd be jogging again. Then yesterday to go and bowl 2 games with the family. But, dang, does my rump ever hurt LOL!!! Yeowzers!!! Bowling is DEFINITELY a sport... plus, when I looked it up I found I burned over 200 calories doing it LOL!! So WooHoo!!! That sure makes up for the bad score!! Playing the Wii Bowling is sooooooo much different than the real stuff. Daughter says "Man... I can't bowl from the bathroom here... I ALWAYS knocked pins down while I was going to the bathroom". Modern technology... where would we be without it!
Ro
Good Morning Everyone, Wow I had an exciting day yesterday I need to share since I can't share this with anyone else.
My Daugther's boyfriend came over yesterday wanted to get some info to take my daughter to dinner when we are in Hawaii. Now I live in CT he lives in RI so I said I can email you it, no he wanted to come over......... he is going to ask her to marry him when we are in Hawaii...... this trip is getting better and better every day... He wanted to ask my permission and show me the "BEAUTIFUL" ring. I am elated I was jumping all over the place. My daughter is 25 and they have been dating about a year he is so wonderful and treats her so good, I was hoping that this would happen by the end of the year. I can't share this only hubby and I know he is afraid someone will slip. I told him to take her out the first night (we get in around 2sh) that way he doesn't need to wait and isn't carrying the ring around. He was so nice to come and talk to us first so old fashion. Now he has to talk to her father my ex also, he is a great guy but nobody is good enough for his little girl so we will see how that goes, not that it will change his mind..... hmmmmmmm so happy.
Then last night one of my crowns (I have them on my four front teeth) just fell off while I was flossing, ughhhhhhhh I had them done last summer needed to (after a couple root canals) and while I love how they look since I never had real straight teeth and now do, I hate having them and it was a long ordeal. So off to the dentist this morning to have it put back on, I just can't believe it JUST FELL OFF. I hope it doesn't happen when I am away ughhhhhhhh.
And on the TTOM thing still hanging in there 4 weeks now and counting, the hormones she gave me does not seem to be stopping it, she did say it could take the whole ten days but geshhhhh this is ridicules. At least my blood work came back good, hope it is nothing too serious, I have been reading up on it and it could be a whole lot of things many not serious so I am not going to worry until I need to.
Have a wonderful day ladies and enjoy life, it goes by too quickly and we need to enjoy all we have. Betty
Good Morning Everyone ![]()
Betty, Wow! What a wonderful trip you and your family will have. I'm so excited and so happy for you!! I hope all will come together perfectly for all of you ( TOM and the crown). And congrats on the ?soon to be? new son in law.
Cheryl: I can't wait to get the balance ball and video. I'll let you know how I do after it arrives. (mail is slow here). I'm so glad you enjoy Leslie as much as I do. Her workouts are awesome. After you figure out the caliper thingy let me know-I may look into purchasing one too.
Jenny: I only crave sweets once a month. And then it's chocolate. And if you want a little debbie-give yourself One. Just keep it within your calorie intake level and DON'T beat yourself up over it. After all this isn't a DIET-it's a lifetime. If it makes you unhappy or miserable it's not sustainable. A person must be happy to be healthy.
Ro: still jogging!! I am so motivated by you! Keep it up girl! I love bowling. When I was younger I was on a league . . couldn't bowl that well but I loved it! Great upper and lower body workout.
Have a wonderful day ladies!! Take care!
Della
Good Morning All,
Jenny, whether it be potato chips or Ding Dongs, if you are anything like me, when you deny yourself something you are really craving, you will start to obsess on it and either end up gorging or getting depressed. Della hit the nail on the head. Don't ever make yourself miserable over food. Go ahead and eat what you want (nothing is forbidden) just keep track of your calories and don't overdo the quanity. I guess it's all about moderation. You threw me when you said that you took Vioxx and Celebrex for migraines. I have never taken perscription meds for mine, just Advil Migraine and ride it out.
Ro, bowling, jogging, yard sales. Your energy must be through the roof!
Betty, congratulations on your daughter's news (even if she doesn't know it yet). Our son-in-law came and talked to my husband and me before he asked my daughter to marry him. For about two weeks everytime I looked at her I thought "I know something you don't know". It was a blast. Sorry about the tooth. It would have to be on a front one, wouldn't it.
Have a great day, all. Cheryl
Good morning everyone,
Jenny I agree with Cheryl you have to have those things you crave once in a while or you will go crazy. check zigzagging dieting. It allows you two days a week to eat more (not crazy) then the other five days you eat within your intake. I have been doing that and it helps keep you sane.
Cheryl if your migraines are really bad you should see about some meds. My husband takes a shot and says it helps within a short time. I can remember what it is?
Ro as aways you are my inspiration.....
I am good gals still counting the days going on the first day of week 5 with TOM now geshhhhhhhh but getting better, I have two more of the pills the doc gave me and she said it could take the whole ten days so I am praying..... I go there next week so if it isn't stopped I will beg for something else... hahaha.
Only 8 days left to go on vacation I can not wait it will be so fantastic esp. now with my daughter getting proposed to, it is killing me not being able to say anything. Yesterday was MOM day and I wanted to tell her so bad but couldn't "she can't keep a secret".
I have a busy weekend. Working on a deal right now, and have another contract to write up today and an open house tomorrow. It is so sad how many foreclosures that are out there. The deal I am working on is 40 thous below asking price and I think they will get it, the bank doesn't want it anymore. It is kinda scary.
Well, off to exercise have a wonderful day and weekend everyone. Betty
Good afternoon Ladies,
I have to say it's been wonderful reading all that is happening with all of you. Thanks for letting me be a part of this.
Betty, your trip sounds wonderful, and how exciting about your Daughter! I think that's wonderful that he came and talked with you before asking her. I hope someday my Daughter will find someone as considerate. I hope you get your TOM figured out before your trip.
Ro, you do give me the motivation to keep working out. I've been working out to the Biggest Losser's DVD's. I really enjoy them but there's a lot of squats. My knees are really sore. I'm thinking I need to change things up a bit so I'm going to look into the walking workouts.
Well, my weigh in day is Thursday and I'm down another 2 lbs. Again I was dancing around the house. I was home with my Granddaughter and dogs. My Granddaughter didn't know what to make of it so she just started dancing with me and the dogs barked a long. I'm sure it was a sight!!!
Speaking of cravings. I saw a commercial for a DQ Blizzard the other day and that's all I've been thinking about having since. Eventually I'll give in and have one. Hopefully someone will be around to share it with me.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. B
Good Saturday morning Ladies,
Saturday morning is my weigh in and I am down another pound, making a total weight loss of 20 lbs since January 5th.
Speaking of cravings, as a rule I hate anything seafood with the exception of batter-dipped, deep-fried (of course) Long John Silvers fish filets. I have been craving that for the last two weeks. Finally, yesterday I got, not one, but two filets with tarter sauce for my lunch, to the tune of 720 total calories. I know better than to let a craving linger that long. If I had gotten it last week, one filet would have satisfied me. Anyway, I ate a very light supper and ended the day at a little over 1,400 calories, which is still less than my maintenance level. I am proud to say that my mindset is getting so much better. Three months ago, if I had blown my lunch with that many calories, I would have told myself that the day was already shot and I might as well blow supper too. I would have probably ended the day with way over 2,000 calories and then gone on a major guilt trip. I feel so impowered to be able to indulge my cravings and bounce right back into the flow. I am actually breaking my slavery to food and it feels magnificent!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy life to the fullest! Cheryl
Good Day everyone! Sorry I've not posted lately-the sun has come out here on our frozen little island and I'm outside every chance I get now. Today the sun is pouring through the window - makes a person feel ALIVE after such a long winter.
Cheryl!! I'm so very proud of you! Your one awesome lady. You know my mind set use to be the same as yours. But I must confess it's a complete turn around here in my later years of life. LOL Ha boy do I sound old. .
Today is my weigh in: 198.3 now that feels so good! my weight is finally coming off and I feel better physically and mentally.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll check in on Monday.
Good afternoon ladies,
Cheryl, I am also sooooooo proud of you. Makes you feel so great doesn't it to be able to eat something "not so good" and then get right back on track. And Becky I would say to give into that craving before it drives you crazy then you can't control how much you have. You should never deprive yourself of some of those cravings that is just not fair. You just have to plan for them with the rest of your food for the day.
My cravings are brownies mmmmmmm. Now I have been very good, I will pat myself on the back, since I only crave chocolate once a month well I have had once a month for "A MONTH" but have been good with the cravings.... and I am happy to say that as of today I am TOM free......yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Della, I hear you girl with the age thing. Hubby and I were just saying how we could buy a car for $500 "back in the day" and wish we had the mustangs and corvettes we had then since they are worth so much now (we were watching an auction on TV). God I feel old sometimes.
I have less than 6 days left... at this time in six days I will be 3 hours from landing in Hawaii I can not wait. Work has been so crazy for me and the only way to get away from it all, is to go away. I haven't lost any weight but haven't gained any either so I am happy with all I have gone though.
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend everyone. Betty
Good Evening all,
Just want to let everyone know how much I am enjoying the "Walk Away the Waistline" dvd. The time spent doing it flies by. I'm glad I was paying attention when you all talked about how much you enjoyed it. I actually won our office NCAA pool, and I can't think of a better way to spend part of my earnings than to buy another one so that I can have some variation.
I am taking the day off work tomorrow and going to the doctor with my daughter. She has been getting very good reports from her doctors. The clot is still there but it has sealed off. She is taking the two injections of blood thinner a day in her stomach and will for a while but accepts it as just part of her life right now and carries on. I am very proud of her!
I hope all of you have a terrific week. Cheryl

Cheryl: So glad your enjoying WATP-I knew when I first tried her workout I had found the right one for me. It is nice to hear other people enjoy it as much as I do. Also, fyi-my balance ball, beginner dvd and new weights arrived yesterday via Sears. I've not used them yet as the weather has turned here and I HAD to get outside to walk. After being house bound all winter I WANT to be out doors as much as humanly possible. I will try them and when I do I'll post my first "Attempt" LOL-gonna be a sight though I just know it. Good news about your daughter. Keep us posted and when is your grandchild due to make his/her appearance?
Betty: The days are swiftly passing soon you'll be airbound and soaking up all the "island happiness" I want to see pictures when you return.
As I stated I've been walking outdoors every day this week and every other day last week. The snow is slowly going and the sun is stronger every day. I just can't stand being inside when the weather permits otherwise. Last night I walked 5k -took me an hour. With lots of hills to go up or down-it was so nice. But one has to be careful this time of year as well. There have been several polar bear sightings the last two (2) weeks and the moose are getting quite cranky-guess they are tired of winter too.
Take care everyone!
Della
Good Morning Everyone,
In less than 12 hours I will be on a plane to Hawaii. I can not wait, the kids are all getting so excited as well. Our flight leaves at 6am tomorrow and I have told the kids to be here at 3:30. It is so hard when there are so many people traveling together, 8 here and one son will meet us there, since he lives out west.
I have been so busy all week and not doing much exercise (although lots of running around) but eating well and lost another pound!!! yeah...I am only 4 pounds to my goal weight and this week I have been feeling so good. I have been very good with the water intake and what I am eating. I know that will falter while I am away at least the eating part, but I do like fish so I will eat a lot of that while I am there and we walk alot so that should make up for the extra food and drink...
Della, I hear you about going outside we have had nice weather too and I have tried to spend as much time outside as possible, I have taken a couple short walks also. I can't do anything in the yard yet it is still too wet. But some of my flowers are coming up, I love spring although I do not have to worry about bears or moose!
Cheryl, I hope your daughter is doing well. I will keep good thoughts for her.
Well ladies this will be my last post for a couple weeks, I will take lots of pictures and post some when I return. Bye everyone. Betty
Bye Betty!! Have LOTS AND LOTS of Fun!!! Enjoy your trip!
Have a great time Betty. We will miss you and look forward to hearing all about the trip when you return. Cheryl
Hey there, Ladies!!!
Sorry I've been off-line a bit. Was getting ready for our Garage Sale, and finally finished it up this weekend! It was bitterly cold here, and now my throat hurts LOL! But we made enough to replace our savings fund (we bought new living room sofa, and dining set and china hutch) and buy our kids new bikes!! It was so cool!! (literally ROFLOL!!). Surely I burned calories by simply trying to stay warm LOL!!!
OK... drumroll...... this past week I LOST 3.6 Pounds!! I've been busting my rump doing the 3 mile "Walk Away the Pounds" video by Leslie Sansone. I can't believe how well my thighs and hips are looking... I'm like "Wow"!!!! It's so awesome! I called Dr. Gates office and told his nurse that I was so grateful and in awe about my new body and she and I just laughed and laughed... I told her my hubby is really proud of me for sticking with it as well.
betty and cheryl... Thanks for being so supportive of me! You're such sweetie-pies!
bechwi... I'm glad I motivate you to keep working out... I don't even realize that I add much of anything, but when you posted that it was a nice feeling to know that I make a difference ;-)
della... You GO girl!!! So glad you're still a joggin'!!!!
Well, guess I'll go soak in a very hot tub!! I'm dog-tired... sorta like Cheryl's avatar pic... that looks like one tired dog LOL!!!! Hugs, Ro
Hello everyone,
It's been pretty hectic for me so I'm now trying to catch up on a few things. I weighed in on Thursday and am down another lb. It's slowly coming off, I'm grateful for that. I'm feeling so good. Only 1 more lb. to go and I'll have reached my first goal of getting below 200 by the end of April. When that scale reads anything but a 2 in the front of the number I you'll all hear a ver HAPPY scream!
You've now inspired me to get the walk away the pounds DVD. I'm doing the Biggest Loser workouts. I do like them but my knees are starting to bother me.
It's finally starting to look like spring around here. The sun is shinning and it's in the low 50's. I've been able to get out during my breaks at work and go for a quick walk around the nearby lake. That really helps getting out in the freash air.
Have a great week all. B
becwhi... I started off with her package from WalMart that comes with the 1,2,3 Mile Workout and 2 of her Weighted Balls. I don't like the balls at all because they're very hard to fill up with water and don't get perfectly round. I used them and it was annoying hearing the water sloshing around in them. Felt like I was exercising on a water bed ROFLOL!!! So I just started using my 1 pound pink smart bells (I don't call Pink things DUMB LOL). I found another one of her videos at WalMart and it has 1,2,3 miles on it and it's called the "Walk at Home 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk" and is in a pink box. There is a gal on there that does the 2-mile portion... OMgosh!!! I thought I was going to collapse LOL!! Leslie even said "Am I this brutal???" LOL!! My sweat band was so wet when I was through, but it was great! You can pace yourself and make it as easy or as hard as you want, use weights or don't. I love it! She's an awesome lady... I love watching her!
I did the 3 Mile Walk this morning and must have lost 10 pounds in sweat LOL! I can't believe the energy I have now! I just got back from walking the dog a mile around the park, too! I've heard from different nutritionists and doctors that when you supplement your body with vitamins (either pill or injectable) that they go to where they're needed the most first. It's sort of a "survival level" type of thing. So if your lungs or heart need strengthened, or blood need rebuilt... it'll address those issues first... then the energy is addressed later. I think that's what's happening with me. I'm floored at how much I can do and how good my recovery rate is when I exercise! This is just so cool!
Wishing everyone an awesome week! Hugs! ~Ro~
It'll soon be the season for gift-buying, and for holiday getaways. So why not buy some travel gifts? For kids, moms, dads.
