Have you tried Alvarado Street Essential sprouted, organic, flax seed bread? It's organic, sprouted, made from flax seed and VERY healthy ... and you get 2 slices for 100 calories ... making it very diet-friendly (an excellent base for a sandwich or peanut butter toast!) If you can't find it locally, you can order from them online ... http://www.alvaradostreetbakery.com/ I know you like Ezekiel bread, but the lower calories in the flax seed bread may give you more options with your diet.
As for Kashi cereals, I really like Kashi Go Lean at 140 calories a cup (10g fiber, too!). I eat mine with 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze (just 20 calories ... less than 1/2 the calories of skim milk and a lot fewer carbs.)
Instead of real butter on your bread/crackers, why not use a 35-calorie wedge of Laughing Cow Light cheeses? They are delightfully tasty -- a real treat! Or, how about some Oasis brand roasted red pepper hummus (2 TBS for about 30 calories?) Both of these really pack quite a flavor punch -- but are very calorie-friendly (and give you more nutrients than just the fat in butter!)

Hi my name is Hanan (aka hananabanana)
During the summer I went from 180 to 165 and from 165 to 142 so here's the current
START WEIGHT: 148
GOAL: 132
CALORIE INTAKE: 1,500
GOAL REACHED: Mid April 2008
I have no clue how many pounds I'm burning per week but all I know is I mentally need help with food. Also if anyone has tips for my little sisters 'cause they're on the chubby end that's also appreciated!
Thanks for making the Going4Gold club! I hope I can join! Any traditions or anything we do? Do we just do weekly updates or do we discuss eating/health issues we're faced?
Thanks again,
hananabanana
:: giggle!::
Forks, you're on target with what I typed!!! ![]()
Good Job!!! ![]()
I agree about the Eze. bread- I love the raisin, but I don't have the calorie 'budget' for it, now! Thanks for the carrot idea- I'll do that tonight! ![]()
Welcome, hananabanana! ![]()
We posted together, lol! ![]()
Forks will be around to fill you in, but I wanted to say, Hi!!! Glad you're here! ![]()

Hope weight loss is going well for you! How did you hold up for Christmas? Nothing proud for me happened that day I'll tell you that.
hananabanana
Lol!!! Honestly, weight loss is sooo slow for me, and I was close to maybe seeing a new loss...maybe tomorrow???...and I was sooo full of Molly's powerful example of trying new good veggies, that I stuffed myself with acorn squash, (my new favorite!), and collards and didn't end up wanting extra's!!!! ![]()
Not a big meal/get-together this year, either, due to limited income was a help regarding temptation. And...very helpful!...my 3rd daughter cooked the rolls about 1 min. too long...and I only had one, lol!!!! BIG VICTORY FOR ME, LOL!!! ![]()
I'm VERY weak with buttered rolls...VERY!!! ![]()
Don't stress about whatever you had, you are here- this is now- we are ahead of New Year's plans already!!!! YAY!!!! Plenty to be Happy about TODAY!!!! ![]()
Wooo Hoooo!!!! Gonna' be GREAT in 2008!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

* stomps in and announces huffily that her evil scale has been FLUNG into the swimming pool where it now rests peacefully at the bottom midst assorted sunken leaves *
(Note... USWIDS (unofficial sneaky weigh in days can be a dangerous thing when one's TOM is due to start any moment and the foolish scale dares to show water retention.)
=^..^= MOLLY
Can't resist...!!! ![]()
Now that scale has it's OWN WATER RETENTION Problem, doesn't it??? ![]()
![]()
![]()
* evil laugh...!!! *
I agree with you, Molly! It deserved it after all your hard work!!! ![]()
Don't do it, Forks!!!! ![]()
