there is a team thread in the games forum
Found it. =)

Where is everyone today?? This thread just died.

It's really obvious that I don't have a lot to do at work. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be on this forum all the time. Haha.
Just wanted to say welcome to all the new people.

and great job to all the weight loss too!

This has been a really hard week for me to stay motivated with working out, I have worked out everyday this week but I wait tell the end of the day putting it off tell the end I just dont have the get up and go for working out I had two weeks ago its gone way gone now I feel like a snail.
Hi all!  2nd day back at school today, and all they did was try to feed us in between meetings!  I am looking forward to the students coming back just so they can't do that!!  These last 2 days haven't been horrible, but they haven't been great.... I haven't gone over my expenditure, but I have gone over the 1500 I want to stay at.

willpower... willpower....

Good news!  I am down a total of 8.25 pounds since July 30 (gotta love good scales...) and my jeans have finally decided what size I am!  I have been a little too heavy for 28's but not heavy enough for 30's.... I wore my 28's today - they fit well!!!  I was so excited!!!

I just can't wait til all my clothes are too big for me and I have to buy new ones!!!

Anyone seen sadaboutthis?  She probably is busy with her kids....

Cheers!

Are you tired and bored? Do you have trouble staying motivated? Motivation is like bathing, it doesn't last long so we need to do it daily.

Let's take a ride into the future. Imagine yourself 6 months from now.

What will you look like, what size clothes will you be buying, what kind of food will your cabinets have in them? Will you be at goal, what will your family and friends be saying about you? Within the next 6 months summer will be over ,and you will have the holidays behind you.

Did you eat wisely? You'll know how you did by how you feel, how you look and are you proud of yourself?
You stayed on plan, you exercised you kept your journal and you're so proud of yourself. Your family is so proud and your friends- well they may be a bit jealous. You did it. You are full of energy, you look good ,feel great and shopping in the small clothes section. You done it you "Got it done."

Now snap back to reality! What if you didn't stay on plan?

What would you look like, how would you feel, what would you have in your closet, what food is in your cabinets, what section are you shopping in and how do you feel about yourself?

That really gave us something to think about.
Is our minds set for the challenge?
In order to change our body we first have to change our minds! A new mind set means a new body, so lets all work on what we can "Geturdone"

Lora
Tamara!  When did you change your name?

I was so confused!  :)

*lol*... sorry jessicarm!  I meant to tell people... I thought about the fact that I was going back to teaching... new group of kids... and I say some HIGHLY personal stuff... If they happen to be on here, that was my REAL name.. FIRST and LAST...

Yes, they're still my real pictures... but not as likely to "bump" into me without actually looking for me!

I've been counting calories for almost two weeks now, and it's allot easier (so far), then I thought it was going to be. Maybe it's because I now know how many calories I was taking in before... but I'm actually having trouble making sure I eat enough. I should have at least 700 more calories a day... but I'm not hungry for them. Did anyone else feel that way in the begining? Lost five pounds so far.
Synchro: I definitley felt the same way when I started. I just wasn't eating enough. When I really don't think about it, I find myself really low again. But, as long as you are aware that you're calories are too low, it's easier to change it.

No worries. Just don't let it happen all the time. Don't want to starve yourself. =)
I had a bad day yesterday.  Actually last night.  I drank about 8 beers and 4 shots of Techila Rose.  I am tired today but not hung over.  But that is a lot of calories in one night and I am feeling guilty about it.  And I really dont feel like exercizing today.
Nivy: Bad days happen. Don't let it get you too down. I hate exercising, ever, so I understand not wanting to exercise. It might make you feel a little less tired though if you just go on a short walk.

Make tomorrow a good day and even yourself out.

I know those days... *lol*... I spent the WEEKEND getting my drink on...  drank a couple bottles of wine on Sat. night and had an appt. with a personal trainer at TEN on Sunday.  I still went.. and actually, you know... I felt better afterwards... I think I sweat out a bunch of toxins.

BTW the alcohol didn't cause me any weight gain at all.  I've read that your body metabolizes it different than food.  I still log mine and everything... but alcohol has never really slowed my weight loss... (I know it can because of slowing metabolism... I"m just saying that hasn't been my experience.)

and reb is right... no one ever regrets working out after they do it... You could commit to 15 minutes... and see if you feel like doing more once you get started.

I got off my duff and exercized for 15 min and did feel better.  I got energized and made bread and butter pickles.  Just finished.  Now I am tired but its a different kind of tired.

YAY nivy!!! I think I can, I think I can...

I thought I could, I thought I could

I'm glad I did, I"m glad I did!!!

Congrats!

Been monitoring my food intake for the past few days.... my I can say it's hard >< (Especially when most of the foodstuffs available at my area don't have a cocise nutrition table). Now I'm more choosy in terms of what food I take.

Is there exercises which I can do at home without any equipment?
Hi everybody- I am happy that everyone is doing so well, keep up the good work!! Hey Jessi-congrats on your weight loss-you are doing awesome! I on the other hand have fallen off the band wagon over here- I am bloated and honestly can say guys-that I have not weighed this ever- I officially weigh more than I did when I was 9 months pregnant- just one downfall 9 months have passed since all this weight went on and i dont get a baby! Just looked at my face in the mirror today-which I never do by the way-dont even have a full length mirror-never did actually and I could not believe what I was looking at- Iam now to a size 22- I am 5'8" I don't need to be 5/6 at 42 I will settle for a size 12! It's like I have no fight in me anymore and have given up-I ate like a small pig today-and now feel sick-I need help big time- I have got to get back on the road here-I havent written in a few days because I have been doing so poorly but I thought to myself-well, im going to write this anyway- I am sorry to all of you for disappointing you-I will try again tomorrow- some days are just wicked harder than others-Goodnight and congrats to all again.
sadaboutthis: No one here is going to be disappointed with you. We've all been there. Diets/weightloss suck, especially in the beginning. Just remember that that's what this group is all about. Just because you fell off the wagon doesn't mean we're not going to be there for you. Come back. We're supportive. =)

You are allowed to have a bad day or a week or even a few weeks. You just have to pick yourself back up and decide that it's time to do it right. That it's time to change your life and be that healthy person you want to be.

You have to decide to do it for yourself.

nekorin  Sure... do you have stairs?  Run up and down for like five minutes... and add a minute a day.  You can go walking... YOu can do bicep curls with soup cans... YOu can do crunches... You can use pantyhose as resistance bands... You can stand up and march... ANYTHING. *edit*  I also LOVE my DVD's... there are several by Denise Austin and Kathy SMith which require no equipment at all.

sad  I'm sorry it's been so tough for you to really get it started.  Have you thought about seeing a nutritionist to come up with an actual PLAN that you can follow?  Are you trying to be TOO restrictive on yourself and it's causing you to fail?  At our weight, you really would lose weight on 2000 calories a day... all you have to do is keep track of your foods... but if you're making good choices 2000 a day is PLENTY and even has a little room in there for a "bad" choice... so you don't have to make yourself crazy thinking you have to do this perfectly the whole way through.

I actually AIM for 1600-1800 calories a day... on PURPOSE... good healthy calories.. but plenty of them anyway... and I still lose 2-3 pounds a week.

and remember what I said in the beginning... don't worry so much about being "thin"... or the "weight"... we focus on it soooo much... but it's not that important... what's important is being healthy... because then you start to feel good about yourself emotionally, mentally...

I remember those days when I wouldn't look in a mirror.. .I was 343 pounds at the time... I remember trying to convince myself that I might as well just stay there... because I liked eating pizza too much to lose it all... but it's not an either or thing... I can STILL have pizza... AND I can be healthy...

You need to decide for yourself what you're going to do.  Taking the first step is terrifying.

nekorin - I agree with texasteach, there are plenty of things you can do! Exercise dvds are often only $10 or so, and there are hundreds of them to choose from. I've abandoned mine lately, actually, and should really get back to them!

But walking is also free! Even walking in place while watching tv is good! I marched in place for 15 minutes while pushing a kid on a swing once, and that was a great little multitasking workout.
sad,

Dont be so hard on yourself the group is right we ALL have bad days/weeks but that is why we are here to help each other out to get back on the right path hang in there you will do it! I notice I do better when I track every calorie I put in me so I can strech it out threw out the day and try to save a buch up at the end cuz I love to snack at night and that way I dont feel guilty. You have to find what works for you. For working out all I do is walk 4 to 5 x a week some weeks are worse and I walk in place,  4 steps forward and back n side to side, I follow Leslie Sanstone(sp) routines. all that matters is that your moving if your moving your burning calories.
