Clean Eating Challenge
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.
I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??
There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!
All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.
A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself
Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Checking in. The holiday weekend is coming!!! Good luck to everyone! You can do it!!! I keep telling myself... self control self control self control... I'll let you know Tuesday how I did. Hopefully I won't have to restart!! :o(
Did I mention I needed a new start date of Monday (5/21)? Operation "Back on Track" was an Operation "The Weekend Hit" The funny thing is I tried real hard - hold the Mayo on my Grilled Chicken Sandwhich, got the fruit instead of fries. Noticed I don't plan ahead as well and log "after the fact" - and eat out way too much on the weekends. Been REAL good all week since Monday though.
It's those darn weekends that kill me - Mon-Thurs I'm like a gold star student, and you can totally see it when I print out my calories for the week - increased calorie intake on the weekends- which then translates to being able to see it on my weight chart.
Ho hum and *sigh*.
I may take a break from this through the holiday, and then jump back in on June 1st when I also start my new fitness goals. I'll let you know how THIS weekend goes.
lysistrata - THAT's Awesome! I'm trying to figure out how to fit more yoga back into my routine. And am reading this awesome book - The Heart and Science of Yoga - I think - it's at home. Something like that. I'm very interested in the philosophy of Yoga, not just the practice. It's fascinating!
All fellow restarters- Hang in there you guys! This is way easy to throw some words up on these boards - quite another to stare that donut (or for me and extra glass of wine or way to many chips and salsa) down!
I think I need a specific date I'm going to be clean until - like the month of June. Then when I reach that...who knows...just keep going! But I think I need a psychological marker. Maybe that's just me. Anyway! Good luck over the Holiday weekend all!

Thanks k8ly! I'm really interested in the philosophy too. Right now I am reading Iyengar's new book Light on Life and I completely love it! I don't practice his style of yoga but he has amazing insights into what it's all about ... I definitely recommend it.
omfg i feel like sh!t right now. i was baking cookies and cookie dough = eviler than pizza. not only will i probably get samonella from the eggs (jk my immune system rox) i was at 1800 today!! i havent eaten that much in months!!!! >.<

Had a great day. Ate good, had a few crackers and a slice of turkey breast at our car dealership today. It was a private sale & we are buying 2 new vehicles! yay!!!

mabear- Sorry you had some trouble wtih bingeing, but if it helps any, I don't feel as bad now! lol! :o) No, seriously though, I wish I knew the link to break for emotional eating also. I guess if we knew, there would be a lot less overweight people aroudn. All I can say is this: we still are the only ones who puts food in our own mouth, it's just about making the decision to not put the crap in there. I know, easy to say, not so easy to do. I agree. But distractions can be the way aroudn it. If we could occupy our minds & bodies while we're having the urge, long enough to shut it down, that could work.
lysistrata- congrats at being at your goal range!!! & way to go on being asked to lead your yoga class! what an honor!! Have fun with that!

Still here!
Dee another restart please. Just figured out why I am so yuck feeling restless and depressed. I realized it is coming up on the first annivesary of my sons passing and my body is all out of wack. Today was a horrible day and I really feel like throughing in the towel on this whole change of life thing but I know in a few months I'll be right back here feeling worse then ever. At least now that I know whats eating me I am gonna try to handle it better, cry if I need to remember if I need to maybe even visit his grave before his B-Day! but I am NOT gonna eat over this. Sorry for needing another resart but tomorrow has to be better cause the last two days were just awfull!!

Had a great day, got two new vehicles today. We spent all of yesterday & all of today just trying to get stuff all sorted out & in line with financing, etc. Crazy how long it takes.
There's one of them!! yay a convertible!! i normallly dont liek the PT Cruiser, but this just doesn't look like one, I lvoe it!!!
Our other vehcile is for our work, a touring van ( mini van ) . Has all the bells & whistles. Gonna pick it up on Tuesday. yay!!

mabear- I'm so sorry to hear your son passed. That definitely is an event that would cause someone to look for comfort & food can sometimes give that for us. You are strong for opening up about it on here, and maybe that will help too, jsut putting it down in writing. Good for you for saying "I am not gonna eat over this". I think your son would want you to be healthy & happy. Eat good for him :) I'll restart you for tomorrow, I know you'll do great! Only 5 days till June 1, you can do this!!!!

Most of us have restarted, so don't feel bad if you have to. This is just about helping us to think about what we're eating so we're more mindful, and hoepfully it causes us to make the right decisions more often.
junk- ya, setting a date is great. Just make sure it's in small chunks so you dont' feel like it's so far away. Your mind loves to see you win challenges & it will motivate you. June 12 is over 2 weeks away, You might want to start with a 3 day goal, then you achieve that, then maybe do a 5 day goal, then see if you can go a week. How bout you join me & mabear till June 1 & then we can keep going from there?

ok so far so good
ok dee you are probalby tired of me but I did good at the party but then later the kids said they were hungry and I took them to mickey dees and I said One combo meal couldn't be that much. then I actually totaled up and let see my intake was 3357 w/ a 2845 I think cals burned . So I think a restart is needed and I won't make that mistake twice

hey everyone! i hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! i went away for the weekend and kept portion control in mind! the food was healthy though- home cooked food like chicken breast, salads, fruit, pasta (not that great, but still okay considering..)
