Over 200 club
I want to start a club for those of us who have a lot of pounds to lose. Anyone interested?
So here it is - I am 27, married, female and obese. Who knew.
Well, maybe I did actually know but I have not been very willing to
do much about it.
Do you want to be friends? Friends in weight loss the hard way? Oh
let's! That would be great.
I weigh 225 and am only 5'3" tall - IN short, it's about time I get
started on losing this weight - because I don't want to be like this
forever.
I've tried things like the lemonade/maple syrup diet - yeah lost 20
gained 20. Points by Weight Watchers - that worked OK and I might
even try that one again. Atkins - Worked but got headaches and
couldn't focus at work...
AND last but not least, I have used one really easy method which
works and gives me flexibility - there is a really great website I
use called www.calorie-count.com and it is COMPLETELY free and it is
a database of pretty much every food out there. It also has some
great tools you can use which calculate how many calories you use in
a day and how many calories you need to consume daily to get to your
goal.
So I just thought it would be great to have some friends who were
going through this thing at the same time I was. Some people who
would understand when I needed to talk or cry or moan about
cravings -- and people who'd be there to support me and tell me to
PUT THE FORK/TWINKIE/COOKIE DOWN!!!!!

So here I am and on a 12 week road to weight loss. I decided to try
the methods listed on Oprah's Boot Camp and if you want to join in
let me know! I could always use a buddy!
Essentially, the diet portion says to eat lean meats, no processed
foods, 2 servings of fruit a day and as many veggies as you want.
For the first month, no breads or wheat products after that, you can
slowly add them back.
NO eating after 7:30 PM.
Bearing in mind - although I am American, I live in the United
Kingdom (England) and we are 7 hours ahead of central standard
time... so it's like 7 pm here!!
So here's what I had to eat today:
Breakfast - 2 slices of turkey bacon
2 eggs over easy (using Pam instead of oil)
About 4 TBS of cottage cheese
About 1 cup of freshly made fruit salad
Lunch - frozen mixed vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli,
carrots, peas)
Dinner - Wasn't really hungry so just had a bowl of All Bran.
Tomorrow, I am going to be getting up and walking in the mornings
and I'd love to hear about whatever you're doing. We can do this
together you know! Let's not let each other down!

Hello, michellesmith0.
It sounds like you and I are walking the same path. I am 31, married, a mommy of three and obese. For many years I have just ignored the problem thinking that I would wake up one morning and have the body of a supermodel. Well, guess what I don't live in a magical world. So, I know that I am going to have to work for a healthy body.
I would like to have an online friend to lend me support and someone who will let me support them. I try to talk to my husband (who is very supportive), but he doesn't seem to understand what I am going through. Of course he is 6 foot tall and can eat anything and not gain a pound, me on the other hand can look at a cupcake and gain a pound.
I have been dieting for about a month or more and have lost 3lbs. I get so discouraged because I want to step on the scale and see a weight lose of 10lbs a week. However, I know in my heart that losing the weight slowly will help me from gaining it back.
please write back,
Tired of being fat in Tennessee.

As of this AM i can join this club..lol im 299.6 barely but i can i went from 318 to 299.6 in the past 6wks.
Great job Erica! Welcome to the club!
I was noticing a lot of comments about the food grading...you have to keep in mind that the grade has nothing to do with your individual goals or activity level. It grades the foods based only on their nutritional value. There are days I do an A+++ on my personal goals but my nutrition grade gets killed by the fact that the formula that figures the grade of the food balances a percentage of fats vs. sugars. This gives lots of "diet" foods like FF mayo, FF hot dogs, FF dressings, etc. a "C" because it's ratio of sugars to fats is high, even though the total calories are not! So, don't stress getting a B if you're eating the right amount of calories and fat needed for your personal goals!
OK, I'm feeling chatty. I want to share with you all that I've been frustrated too that I'm not losing that 10 lbs a week like I did at first.
On the other hand, I did lose 10 lbs in the past month, and I am feeling FABULOUS! I've been working out more than I have in 17 years - it's not a lot, but enough to give me strength and stamina (and nicely toned legs).
And you know those days that you weigh yourself and the scale shows that you've lost 3 lbs...then you weigh yourself the next day and it's back up 3 lbs? Don't be discouraged...look at how you're trending on your graph... as long as the trend is going down, you're losing weight!

I started at 219 and have lost 62 pounds. I have been between 200 and 240 most of my adult life. It can be done! Write down what you eat to keep it real, and walk, walk, walk! Good luck you guys.
140 down and 4 more to go before I crack 200!
Great Job everyone for weight loss. I went to the Dr. yesterday. I lost 17 lbs since I was last there. He did my 43,000 mile check up. Blood work EKG, X-Rays the whole thing, oh what fun. I asked him what he thinks I should weigh he told me about where I am at now. He said even if I drop another 20 lbs he doesn't think my health would benefit from that. I don't think that would be right would it? My blood pressure was 132-82 which is good for me. I have high BP normally anyways it runs in the family. I do take pills for it, but still runs a littler higher than normal. Still with in a good range. Him saying that I wouldn't be any better off 20 lbs lighter just didn't seem right. I weighed in at 252 there with all clothes on. Which is about right, so dropping down to 225 wouldn't make any difference. I would think it would have to...
15 years old 262 but there is no way in hell i8m going under 230 cause i need it for football
Footballer-
Ah to be 15 again...not sure I want to live that time over again, but to be able to have that metabolism again. If I were you, I would cut down on the fat you eat since you are very active and lift weights you are going to burn off just about as many calories as you take in. I would stick to more of a protein diet. Such as turkey, chicken, fish, whole grains, limited red meats, some carbs, potatoes but don't over do it. Since you are not body-building you don't need the extra carbs for the quick energy you need the long term effects of protein. One other thing I can say is cardio-cardio and more cardio that will burn off the fat faster and also keep you in shape for running for rugby. I understand about not wanting to go below a certain weight (230 lbs) I don't see that happening since you are weight lifting. Good Luck!!

Yay I hit my first goal mark of 25 pounds. Finally, now to reach my next goal. I feel better, clothes fit better. Something I laugh to myself about is that people at work look at me and say "that color really looks good on you." I've been wearing the same clothes and colors so I'm guessing they don't notice a weight loss or they don't want to notice the weight loss and choose the color comment instead. To be fair, 1 person did mention the loss, but no one else. Probably since I was so big it is hard to notice at first. I've got 85 more to go. I'm taking it a step at a time but I feel good that I managed to get this far. Gives me more strength to go on. I have to thank all of you for posting about your plans. Those comments are what has given me the real strength to do this. I don't think I could have gotten this far without this forum.
GREAT JOB SIS!!! It's a great feeling to see the scale move down. Keep it up...to me it only gets easier. I didn't drop anything this week, but I didn't gain either stayed the same, still 247. I did get my blood test back from the Dr. it was better than I thought. My total cholesterol was 122 bad was 81 and my good was 41. By BP was in range the only thing that was some what bad was my Creatine was a little high. Not getting enough water. I drink a lot of pop way more than I should. I drink it instead of water...I probably drink a 12 pack a day or close to it. So Dr. said cut back way back and drink lots of water. So I am working on that. One pop at lunch and one at dinner, that is all water the rest of the time. I hope I can keep it up. I drink Coke Zero, so it is diet, but not good for you if you drink as much as I do...
Hi...I am very new to this site and just came across this over 200 club...I have been a member for 4 days and have already lost 2 lbs...The info on this site is out of this world...I would have never guessed that to lose weight you must eat...It has been great...I actually feel full...That is a major accomplishment itself...I started at 220 and am 218 now...CC said that I am SEVERELY OBESE and that I need to lose 96lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!That would put me @ 124...I don't believe I have been that weight since my pre-teens and I am 33 now...For my own sanity I am setting my goal of 145...I have been to that point as an adult...After that I will see what I can do...I also have set my goal for May 9th, 2008 so that my hubby and I can go on a cruise for our anniversary :-)...Good Luck to every1 here!
It's great to see others in the same place I am. 219 and 34. I am new to this and glad to learn there's a club -- although hoping I won't be eligible for membership that much longer!!!
