Hello Calorie Counters!

I've missed being here for a few days, and have enjoyed reading everyone's posts so much today.  :)  Wow, I am so impressed by so many motivational posts too.  You girls are doing awesome!

Olivia, 12 lbs lost?!  Way to go!  Glad to know you are feeling better.

Amaresmom, I purchased some resistance bands a while back also.  I sort of forgot about them, though and need to find where I put them, lol.    I know they are somewhere.......hmmmmmmm........I better look.  They do produce great results!  Sorry to hear about your tears over your mother.  I too have recently read a few entrys in my mothers journal where she was a little upset with me at one time.  It brought tears and I felt a sense of guilt and regret.  :(  I feel much empathy for you.  Hope you are feeling better now.

Welcome Krisie, Sounds like you are a shortie like me.

I'm 5 ' 0.  :)  Your weight goal sounds healthy.  Good luck to you.

Traci, Sounds like we are close to our goals.  I have 6 pounds to go.  :)

Zena, I simply can't watch Food Network.  I have to avoid those cooking shows at all costs when I am on a diet.  I start scribbling down recipes and wanting to go straight to the store and get the ingredients, lol.

Zochia, I am seriously considering trying Pilates.  But I'd like to take classes, which are $ 20.00 per class here, and I just can't justify spending the money right now, with all the talk shows screaming the word "recession" and lately even possible " depression!? " The news is so scary lately! Gasoline, regular is now $ 3.38 here! :(

Amy, I too took three months off from my diet, and gained 13 pounds back recently.  I resumed most of my bad eating habits and I stopped my daily walks.  So I know just how you feel.  January 1st I woke up and told myself that " This is the day!"  I committed myself to getting skinny again, and for the last time.  To taking it off and keeping it off!  :)  I have lost 19 lbs since January 1st.  This is the first time in my life I have made a New Years Resolution and actually stuck to it.  Prayer, Diet Exercise, then repeat!  That's my motto.  :)

Anje, It sounds like you get plenty of exercise picking up and putting away toys and clothes all day, lol.  How thrilling to have twins!  Do you watch that show Kate and Jon Plus 8?  A young couple, barely 30 had twin daughters, then she had six babies, three boys and three girls, lol!  I love that show!

Krrpt, I am trying to lose this weight very slowly and healthy, but realize I should be eating more calories than I do at times.  I am taking One A Day vitamins and Calcium 600 Plus D.  :)

Cheermom, Be careful in Jazzercise.  I fell the first day, first few seconds into my first routine trying to watch someone elses steps and keep up with the class.  :(  I was sooooooooo embarassed, lol.   It was just too fast paced for me.  The girls had been coming for weeks, if not months and knew all the routines.  I was a real clutz anyway, two left feet, lol.  It sure is good exercise though.  Good luck with that!

Here are my stats for this week:

Monday, April 7th: 102.6

Friday April 11th: 101.8

"Hooray, Hooray!"  One of my goals was to reach 101 so I could legitimately say, " 101 pounds of fun!" Lol.  It's a beautiful day here, going to reach the 70's this weekend, and the wind is calm.  Anyday now the buds on all thre trees and bushes will turn green, and I am so excited for spring to arrive!

Everything is still yellow/brown here, but for a few patches of grass.  I wish it would hurry up, because last year the first leaves fell on August 1st! :(  I was standing right by our tree when it fell too.  *Tears* I am NOT a winter person!  I just want to curl up under a blanket and stay there til spring, so this is my favorite time of year.  :)  Have a great weekend everyone, and keep up the good work and the great posts.  I love reading your posts!

Hey everyone!!!!.........well first I want to say...I lied to you all.  I wasn't able to weight my self, but I was able to walk on the treadmill, a little.  But I don't think I did as bad as I usually do when I am help that couple out.  Usually when I am over there I want to eat anythink I can get my hands on.  Because over there THe food just flows.  Were as at my house we do what I call a scavenger hunt.  Through the frigde and over the counter we look. lol.  SO it is weird though.  How the mind works with those situations.  But anyways I will not be having icecream tomorrow. :(((  They have dessert and I had some so I feel aweful anough having it early that there is no way I will be having more so soon.  SO I will be waiting till next Sunday for my ice cream. :(((((  But I don't know how long it will be untill I see a scale.  SO I may have to wait, hopefully not, till next weight in.  But if I do that will be all right.  I want to go for two walks a day, plus the bike for 40 minutes and an hour pilates.  But I can only go for those walks if someone comes with me.  Because of the area I live in.  THere is no way I would walk alone.  TOo scary.  Wich is so stupid that I have to live in that fear being in my own house even.  But anyways. oh by the way I am really craving chips!!!!!  I must stay out of that kitchen!!!!  I stay at about 1300 calories too.  Seems to be that magic number.  I dont feel hungry and I don't feel like I am fat andfull.

Amy0 Great job.  I hope you are able to keep to that goal!!!!

Kimanne-  Your bloated so dont worry about that pound, consider it not there.  Just weigh yourself after it gone and you will probably be down, chin up!!!!!

Puupykisses-  Your time will come.  Just take this as a challenge.  Work your butt off this week, you can do it!!!!!

cheermom- Great job on your loss and walking for 3 miles!!!!!!  It feels weird saying "freat job on your loss", feels like I am congradulating you on killing someone yor something like that. lol

mishellie- Give it all its worth this up coming week!!!!  you can do it!!!!

thelonereed- know how you feel being without a scale!!!!!   And THat is mostly how I feel right now.  EAting healthyer and exercizing makes me feel so good that as long as my body tones up I can take over the world!!!

Olivia- I do the same thing.  I never log my calories on cc, I do though log the avtivities so that I know how much I am burning throughout the day.  Which reminds me...does anyone know why the estimated calories burned is always different that the calorie number that is below taht in a bigger font?  I feel the same way!!!!!!  We must be like sisters!!!!!  I will "indulge:" and feel like afer I need to purge my body of everything I just ate.  (Which I dont purge thatnk goodness.)  But I did it willingly and I just feel beside myself.

mich- its not much BUT at least you lost something while having ttom!!!!  You must be good if you can do that!!!!  You will see a change once you are through.

ka- good job on your 8 pounds!!!!!

amaresmom- I am so glad the world is alright again!!!!  you had me worried!!!! lololol  I flucuate all the time so don't fret over it.  Sounds like you what you are eating is just fine!!!!

anji-  Gald you got back down!!!  And I hope you are able to keep it down too.  And caring for twins must burn twice the calories!!!!!!!

rachelrobin- pialtes is wonderful, you should try it.  And I know you said that you would rather take classes but with the prices of thing I will suggest APilates pick you level with...ellan barrett.  Or something like that.  It is so good and it has three different girls on there doing different levels and on one you can do level one and on the next part of the exercize you can do level three if you want.  It is a good dvd.  And very cheap, under $10.  SO if you consider doing a dvd I high;y recommend that one.

I woke up this morning to snow!!!!:::::(((((((  I was so down!!!  But it is all melted practically.  SO things arn't so bad.  I thinkI am going to walk tomorrow which is my day off.  Just because of all the sitting around I did while helping out the older couple.  Hope everyone continues all the good work!!!!!!!!!  I tell you all, whether you like it or not, how it goes with my down mood.  If it goes away.  I can't very well wncourage others if I am not doing to well my self.

And I want to say this- Olivia, I am SSSSOOOOO glad you are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and feeling better.  And I gaurentee that everyone else feels the same.  You got us into this and we want to see you get through it too!!!!!!!  We appreciate it!!!!

#445 zochia Apr 13 2008 02:14

sorry if I missed any one there was a lot of catching up to do!!!!  Great jobs all around!!!!!!!

LOL!  I love that show!  Whenever I feel overwelmed on handling my four (especially the twins) I just think of them and feel so much more in control.  She is amazing too becuase she honestly has everything so organized but not militant.  Very cute show. :)

Zochia -- I know that feeling of stuffing your face becuase its there!  I am so bad about that and my husband sometimes is so bad about bringing home temptation.  Since he finally worked on his willpower he thinks the kids need that junk and half the time I am the one cruising the kitchen for the snacks.  None of us need it though!  I have learned to just stay out of that room unless I HAVE to go in to cook dinner.  Then I try to keep myself so busy with that that I avoid sticking my hand in the cookie jar so to speak. :)  And its funny about running around with the twins, I always swear I don't know how I am still fat, just from lugging around their combined weight of 40 some lbs up and down the stairs all day should count for something?  :)  Unfortunatly it seems I need to do alot more to shed any of this excess padding.

Hey ladies,

Hope everyone's wekend is going well. I plan to make the most of this sunday. I have to take my son to Barnes and Noble his school is having a fundraiser there today. I am a nerd when it comes to reading and especially books for my son. I am excited about it, now to work on the hubby, the Lakers (basketball) play today so wish me luck getting him off the couch.

Last night we went to great grandma's birthday party at Crab Shanty. I was so nervous I didn't even have a glass of wine. I looked up the menu before we went but to smell and see the food was different. My hubby and I shared a crab platter but the butter and crab stuffing was my down fall. I came home and got on my bike (hated it).

Anje- twins wow how wonderful, yes I am surprised you get a chance to eat at all!

Zochia- It perfectly ok to encourage others even when you are havinhg a difficult time. You are doing great don't fret.

Olivia- Welcome back... all is right with the world again!

rachel- 101 lbs of fun here you come congrats !

Ka 8lbs WOW!!!! congrats

Amy- You WILL make that goal this time we are in this together. And jumping rope in the park was a crazy idea I guess the other moms were laughing at me. So much for being motivated. (smile) I do have a great sports bra though so no boobie injuries. LOL and re: the cheat day no I don't have one I may treat myself to a little something but a whole day off for me would be like a little crack every now and then LOL I do skip a workout on one weekend day.

Puppykisses- don;t be discourages tomm is a new day. Keep up the hard work it pays off.

And to every one else I am so proud to be amongst losers i never though I would find myself EVER saying that. No but really you ladies keep me focused and on the right path. THANK YOU ALL !!! Tommorrows a new week so if it didn't happen this week it will next week.

Happy Sunday!!!

Hi All,

I've been reading your entries and would like to join. This week I hit a milestone in the wrong direction. I weighed in at my heaviest weight ever. I have been fortunate in the past to be able to eat what I wanted and not really gain weight. The combination of turning 36 in January plus a little emotional eating through me into a tailspin and I crossed into the 140s.

I don't think I would be able to hit 10 pounds by the 24th of May, but I would like to try to lose at least 6. (approx a pound a week).

Look forward to getting to know you better.

#450 cheermom521 Apr 13 2008 18:18

Good job everyone. Looks like I've been beat in the calorie duel. Yesterday was my "cheat day" but I feel that since I walked and hiked on my day off and kept my calories around 1600 I did pretty good.

Rachel-I made the mistake in my first class of getting in the middle and following a a 3 year vet. After that I just hang in the back and do my best. My fav instructor, Kim reminds us to do things at our own pace and sometimes I miss the first few reps of a step cuz I just watch to be sure I get it right. If I can't do it I just march in place. Oh I'm a 44D so hopping and skipping automatically become marching for me LOL

Zochia - thanks for the boost. I am losing "someone" the fat me. So don't feel bad saying that. I know there is a thinner cuter me in there somewhere and she's dying to get out. I saw a quote on TWoP and it says there is a skinnier woman in me dying to get out, but I shut her up with Chocolate chip cookies. That was me...but not anymore.

I've noticed that my son seems to eat all of our 100 calorie cookies so I guess he's helping us with our diet. My big Yeah yesterday was that I made a stuffed bell pepper with a small amount of rice in it. And did not make anything for on the side. I had a small cup of pineapple chunks. I used to skip the rice and make a big helping of mashed potatoes-so I feel like I did good!

My husband wanted to add some extracurricular activities late last night but my sinus' prevented it. I did see that moderate amount of that activity burns 126 calories an hour so add it and count it is my motto. Wink It certainly is an activity-if you do it right!!!!!!!!!!!!

nieciecl- Welcome and good luck on your future "loss"

#451 anje Apr 13 2008 18:59

Today is going to be a good day I think.:)  I weighed myself this morning (yeah I do it on a daily basis, helps keep me in check by having that daily reminder of the weight I don't want to be at) and I was at 191!  At least it means to me that the 194 was a fluke and I can still go down.  If I do things right I just might see the 180's by the end of this week, I am so hyped. :)  I finally got back on the treadmill and why I put it off I don't know cause I like the feel afterwards. :)

Amaresmom -- have fun at the bookstore!  Definitly a place I could get lost in.  When it comes to buying books I can never say no to my kids.  My friends and I call ourselves book sluts since we enjoy are books so much. :)  And its hard not to give in at a restaurant, I completely understand!  Hence my Banzai Burger yesterday. :)

Welcome nieciecl!  Jump right in!  Think of hitting that milestone as your turning point, from now you can only go down. :)

cheermom -- lol on the calories for those extra actiivities.  :)  Its always good to find more reasons to add that into exercise schedule. :D

Okay need to clean house as we have some family coming over for a little mini celebration/pool party for the twins -- talk to everyone later and keep up the GREAT work ladies, you guys are helping keep me on track!!!

#452 kimanne421 Apr 13 2008 19:49
So...I kind of fell off the wagon for a few days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday).  However, last night I logged the food I was going ot eat today and decided on some exercise activities I was going to do.  So far today I have had breakfast and lunch (it's only 11:45, but that's okay), walked for 1 hour, elliptical for 33 minutes, and the 25 minute strengthening portion of my exercise video.  Today I can have 1,325 calories and still have a 1,000 calorie deficit (if I don't do any more exercise).   Oh...and I've had 7 glasses of water...and it's not even noon!!!!!

So...I'm back on the wagon with a vengence!  Happy Sunday!
#453 cheermom521 Apr 14 2008 00:47

ange-don't forget to add cleaning house as an activity! WTG

#454 dayummy Apr 14 2008 04:47

I am totally in. My boyfriend is taking me to Europe for my 30th bday and I am also leaving May 24th I would like to lose 10-15 pounds :) :) What do we do????

#455 stephiepops Apr 14 2008 10:21

Oh my goodness, I miss out on so much when I don't have internet access over the weekend.

Sounds like everyone is doing fantastically. I did my weigh in on Saturday -

Start weight - 157

April 12th - 155!!

And I maintained that on Sunday as well which is brilliant. Unfortunatly I went up to 156 this morning but I had a lot of salt yesterday and can feel that I am retaining a lot of water. I made good choices at friends and events over the weekend and ran a total of 8 miles since Friday!!! I feel really great at the moment! Lets hope I can keep it up.

My week goal is to get at least to 154 but hopefully 153! That would be awesome...... I am sticking to lots of fruit and veg with healthy meals and low cal hot chocolate when I feel the urge for something sweet and chocolaty!

Mini challenge - to get to 153 (although I will be happy with 154). No refined white carbs this week (Mon-Fri). No biscuits, cookies, cakes or chocolate (except low cal hot choc) this week.

Anyone else have any mini challenges for the week or want to join me on that one?

#456 amaresmom Apr 14 2008 14:12
Stephie- I am now on my 3rd week with little to NO white carbs, sugar. I have been enjoying my brown rice and for a little sweet my fruits have been my best  friend.  So I plan to continue so I will be with you this week!!!

I don't miss the carbs but the sugar has been hard. I haven't had any but, boy did I want some juice atleast.
#457 immom Apr 14 2008 14:12

Moning ladies. Help I'm up 2lbs since Friday. Can stress do that? I've stayed in my calorie range and sodium is in check. I don't know. Gotta go to work. Have a good day .

#458 cheermom521 Apr 14 2008 16:03

immom - you could be getting close to totm and that will cause you to hold several pounds. My fitness instructor said she gains 10 pounds a month. Yikes!

#459 blondiepants Apr 14 2008 16:20
Can I join?  I need some motivation, and I'm starting to get really frustrated with myself.  Maybe posting this publicly will give me a little kick in the a**!

Today (April 14th)

I am 6 feet tall, and a female.

April 14th

176 lbs

Thanks for letting me join in!

welcome to all the new ladies!   ( :

We weigh in Fridays, try and challenge each other to make better choices, and have a few laughs for the most part.     ( ;

My knees really hurt lately.  Anyone dealing with/dealt with this successfully?

I took it easy, walking, light jogging, ibuprofen, etc....    Going to the doc on Friday.   Anything I should ask her...?

Hope all is well with your Mondays!
