jody: i actually intend to calorie count forever. i've been doing something called CRON (calorie restriction with optimum nutrition), which is supposed to extend my life. it's not so bad, even though ppl whine about "not being able to enjoy life with restricted calories". that bit is nonsense. i still will have a cookie or a soda sometimes, just rarely and don't overdo it. as for the skin, any advice? i'm starting to notice mine, and i dont' like it. as soon as i'm out of my wheelchair, i'm working my legs like crazy!

I did a photo update - same dress, same location and have a triple shot photo now for each 4 month mark.  Just camera phone quality and the floor length dresses arent too defining but the difference is there.

Welcome Mike - sent a PM to your mailbox and will set you up on our OP.  Glad to have new members - support all around!  Congrats on hitting the 200s, a goal I eagerly anticipate!

last week was disapointed.. down only .5 pound, and was really pretty good all week long... I didnt get regular sleep and ate taco bell for a couple meals, but always stayed within my allowance and worked out like crazy.. so it was disapointing.. hahahah hopefully this week will make up for last. I cant wait to get under 300, like you have no idea!  Ive stayed true to the pomise I made myself and my hair is still growing. its crazy and has never been this long, im also growing ouit the beard.. as soon as Im under 300 its all coming off.. hahahah looking like Grizzly Adams over here. LOL.. be good everybody, Ill drop in on friday to let u know how the week went

Hallelujah! I have lost 15 pounds since April 1st. Now, I know that it was fluid, but I am very thankful for that. I needed to get rid of that excess fluid, and it finally all went. I had gained those 15 pounds in four days from using Toradol, and I just now finally got it all back off.
Wow did that weight come off Pam!  Im going thru that Jack - my eatings on target but on my last three weekly weigh ins - gained 1 lb, then lost 6 lbs and then lost 1 lb so Im hoping back high loss again this week.  Lots of zig zag losses.

This month has zoomed by - hard to believe Tuesday is halfway thru!  Visited an old friend yesterday so had a big lunch before heading over but then didnt get back to have dinner until 8pm.  Too big a gap  of time not to eat and was hungry again at 10pm so followed cottage cheese with a chicken sandwich BUT again hungry so at that point went to sleep.  Fresh new day and getting back on better eating schedule today.

Stay strong everyone!

Pam, well done!  It must have been hard staying focused - you should be very proud of yourself!

Well I have survived my first week and the scale was good to me, 5.4 lbs down which makes me 310.2 - Yay for me.  Really pleased, haven't really changed much just more aware of what I am eating, made changes like, sweeteners instead of sugar, snack a jacks instead of chips, which is my real weakness! and I have ate a few weightwatchers meals.  Just made sure I stayed within my CC.

One thing I was really surprised at was, for the first time, the weekend didn't seem too hard, in fact I struggled to eat my calories usually I find when I am off work its really difficult.

Jack and Sun, Hang in there, hope you get the weightloss you deserve this week.

Keep smiling all! Laughing

Well done everyone !!

Im having an ok month so far. My parents are back from their 3 month vacation, so its been a little harder to stick to it with all my moms good cooking so close, Im encouraging her to make 3 veggies with every dinner she makes LOL i think its driving her nuts ! But im still losing ! She is behind me 100% and she wants to lose as well, its my skinny dad who is opposed !! lol he thinks that to diet you should only eat tomato and lettuce lol he is so old school.

Ive convinced my mom to join a gym with me, so we are going to start this saturday, wanted to this week but i have 5 exams this week and not much time to devote to going. ( i have been doing my stationary bike tho)

So im really excited about how the gym will work out for me .... wish me luck !

K

Your mom sounds super supportive Korali!  Elisa, what an encouraging first week and sounds like youve made this a very workable plan.

As I continue to postpone grocery shopping, Im hitting the household foods I always overlook for the usual standbys eventhough theyre diet-worthy so theres much variety in the meal plans lately.

Visited a friend Sunday I'd not seen since summer and brought a grocery bag of "Shouldnt have in the house" items along to drop off.  She said she could see I'd lost weight just seeing me before I'd gotten out of the car.  Smile!
Another anxious Wednesday, anticipating tomorrow weigh-in.  With just one pound lost last week thinking I should see a payoff tomorrow.

Watching the pantry and fridge get bare as I continue postponing shopping.  The grocery ads come out today and although I shop at Walmart, I still check them for specials to stock up on.  Still have tons of TV dinners from a sale last week.

That friend I visited this past weekend I'd not seen since summer and told her people are usually surprised when the learn how much Ive lost.  I then told her 130 and I could see it in her face the as well.  I guess the fact that its the weight of an entire person is the kicker and Im also bad at visually underestimating weight loss so I can relate.
Weigh in at 328.8 - 4.8 loss following last weeks lousy 1 lbs loss so its balancing out.  Prefer steady numbers instead of this high / low every other week but taking what I can get.

Hoping your weigh-ins are showing progress!

Great Job sun !!

so far i think im down about 3lbs for the month .. only lost .2lbs last week so Ive uped my cals to about 1900ish to see if that works .. if has so far ... about 2lbs gone this week. will see for sure tomorrow

K

i want to join!!!

I am not too sure about my current weight, i started since May 07 and dropped around 20lbs up to September 07, then i gained it back during December 07 til March 08, i started again on April 1st and so far i have lost 13lbs..tho i am not sure because i use the scale at the gym...lol i am not following any specific diet, i just eat less and i try to eat healthy snacks, i do cardio 4 days a weeks and a bit of weight lifting...i dont' know if i am doing it the right way...any suggestions?

Welcome mami and please check you mailbox for a PM Ive sent you!  There are so many methods that work for different people but that cardio schedule sounds great!  I would recommend checking out the tools here at CC - they can help you log your progress, check your calorie consumption, and so much more.  I think coming aboard is a great idea to because for me, it helps with accountability.

Sounds like a good week already there Korali :D - way to spring back!!

Well done Sun. You're loosing 3lbs a week nearly - thats brilliant.

Welcom Mami.

Still on track it amazes me how my weight drops everyday - wish I'd found CC sooner.  Never thought not eating 500 cals a day would make this much difference.  I've lost 7.8 lbs now! Smile

Good job Elisa- looking forward to May 1st so we can update with your progress!!  Mami (Arianna) is officially aboard in the OP and onward to finish off April the best we can :D.

Today im officially down to 308.4 lbs so thats 3.1lbs this week !

yay!  So happy after last weeks .2lb weight loss !

k

Well done Korali, keep up the good work! Smile

Yeah Korali, sounds well earned!!

Hit the groceries finnnnally!  No the my daughters moved in with her dad and I live alone, it about creating the healthy food kitchen - theres no excuses and Im all over that.  Crazy me didnt go to sleep last night due to several day naps so spent the sleeping hours cleaning house and then off for those groceries this morn so I was limping by the time I got home - fine now though :P.
Ummm.... guess what?  I think this increasing-my-calories-thing may actually be working, because I've gone back to losing at a slow pace .... but I am definitely NOT stuck on a plateau any more!  Anyway, as of this mornings weigh-in, I've lost 95.2 pounds!!!!

I started April 1 at 280, and am now at 276.8 .... so that's 3.2 pounds for the month so far, which (frankly), I'm pretty encouraged about. I think that eating more calories has really been good for me, mentally and emotionally, because it let's me fit more things into my menus (and life), ya know? Nuts and cheeses and the occasional bites of Ron's sandwiches -- that sort of thing.

As you might expect, I DO have my "eye on the prize" .... losing 100 pounds, which I anticipate I may hit around July 1. Why so far away? Two words: Alaska Cruise. OK, too more words: Water Retention.  Still, when I started this on August 22, 2007 ... my goal was to lose 100 pounds by my ONE YEAR ANNVERSARY, and that's still my goal. If I make it a little early, great. If not, that's ok, as well. After all, this is a lifestyle change, right?

MOLLY
Thats a excellent estimate to be able to have made a year in advance and so cool that the increased calories are working, as stubburn as that plateau was.  Sounds the calorie up has multiple plusses :D!

Again meeting with a friend I havent seen for a year and enjoying reconnecting after my previous tendancy to back off from socializing.
