are we counting only food for thsi challenge or drinks as well? what the hell category would coffee fall under? lol I went and stocked up  on fruits and veggies yesterday, got some lean ground turkey, some chicken breasts, so I am ready to cook this week! hehe now if I could only learn HOW to cook! haha My road bike should be coming in anyday now so I can finally ride w/o killing myself. It has the pedals that you clip into w/ special shoes though so I am anticipating falling a few times (which terrifies me). I also upped my cals to probably around 2200 yesterday due to the swim workout and now I"m mad. The scale was up and I don't know if that's just going to be how it is while my body adjusts or if that shouldn't happen but I don't like it! grrrrrr I hope it evens out!

I have my first final today, then a poster presentation tomorrw, then my last final at UC Davis on Wednesday!!!! I can't freakin wait!

CoNgRaTs to everyone this week in their weight loss for our team the biggest loser this week was..............wow really close BRANDY with 3.7 pounds GJ second was VK with 3.5!!!!  thay was close g8 job u2!!!  AS a  TEAM we have lost 59.2 pounds thats like 2 kids wooooooooohoooooooo!!!!
Ooh KT...it could be that your body did what mine did and seemed to be panicking about having such big deficits and then you ate more so it kept it.  It should even out.  Um..but maybe try lowering the cals a little and do a gradual increase?  Do you log your activites in?

Kudos to you too Chris for hitting the 10# mark!!!  I'm glad you had fun at the concert.

ok so i was thinking aside from this challenge we should have a challenge for fun with in our team what does everyone think??  any suggestions???

KT how do u want the points for the challenge, daily total is what i was thinking ...... but u r in charge of that part lol

i think daily totals would be good. that way we know if people are beign active or not. i would see if flab2fab is still around since we still haven't heard from her. Do we want to do the totals the same way we did last week or do the copy/paste thing again?

An insider challenge could be good. Like staying w/in 10% of your daily calories? That would be good. I'm still trying to figure out what my cals should be though lol.
sure, or completly seperate, like a clean eating challenge???  just seems fun to do something within our team as well, suggestions?
hey KT i think mext week we are doing something with our calories i believe off the top of my head u said 1400 u wanna stick with that??  if u wanna change it send it nycolea, make sure i know too, just anytime before saturday
I bet if we do do a calorie challenge next week she'll have us account for exercise calories as well.  So iow, using kt's base of 1400 calories plus exercise burned minus consumed and so long as she's (or any team member) is within 10% (arbitrary %) of that net then you get points or what have you. 

Doing calories is tricky though because it is what effects the weight loss.  I don't want to lose momentum because of a challenge.  Oooohhhhh....scaarrrrryyyyy...
Oh yeah...clean eating challenge on top of this week's challenge would definitely keep us on the right track.  One challenge backing the other.  Total genius Chris!
ok what would be the clean eating challenge? sounds cool. Since I'm already aiming for cooking all my meals (except for dinner tomorrow since it's my tri fundraiser) this week so I eat better. But does that mean some foods are restricted? oooo i don't like that :(

I'm a little confused on the challenge this week .... I made up a spreadsheet as was suggested, but do I keep track of servings or points ??

Judi- I think it will be easier to keep track of the number of servings for each category. then you can just multiply your total servings by the number of points you get for that category. So if I had 5 servings of bread for hte day, then I woul dhave 5 marks. At the end of hte day I multiply 5 by the points you get for breat (3?) so that's 15 points. Hope that helps!
i agree with kt tht sounds the best way to keep track, and if u can email KT ur points for the day, so she can keep track like the las challenge????????  if u want it a diff way just let us know KT!!!

OK HERE IS OUR TEAM CHALLENGE CLEAN EATING FOR H4Lers ( it will prolly help for next week too :) .......no restrictions on foods, but remeber we r doing the pyramid challenge as well, against other teams, this clean eating is for US!!!  OK HERE IS HOW THIS WILL WORK:

  • whomever can go the longest clean eating win
Here is thing its real simple YOU know yours goal for calories, be hionest with yourself and we will run this for the whole rest of the challenge, if u fall off we will do a restart date, so anyone can win!!! 

I was gonna do it for 2 weeks and do points lol would of been to confusing!!!  so what does eveyone think??  then there is what 8 more weeks and this is what i am thinking there is 9 of us i created a challenge for the rest of the weeks, EVERYONE ELSE find a challenge u are in charge of for our team, can be one we are repeating it is YOUR choice!!  does this make since, we are doing these as well as "the new you"  everyone in?
I'm in, but I'm not sure I know what you mean by clean eating.  Clean eating as in....mmm, no junk food?  But you said no restrictions on food.  There goes my confusion...but I'm game!!!

OK, I am such a nerd.  I did the spreadsheet KT was talking about and I got all creative with IF/THEN statements in my "fat" formulas to account for the negatives in case I go over the alloted 5 servings.  Jeez!  Lol 
So I entered my foods so far into my new spreadsheet and noticed I've already maxed out my fats/oils/sweets.  I had

  • "lite" mayo on my sandwich,
  • Wheat cheese puffs,
  • a teaspoon of sugar in my oatmeal, and
  • 2 svngs of sugar free coffee mate powder in my 24oz coffee.  
That's 5!!!  Thank goodness I drink a lot of water!!!  I didn't put my coffee anywhere; I don't know what it would fall into...water?
Clean eating, as in staying in ur calorie goals!!!!

i would say coffee as water......just as last weeks challenge??
