Hi all, I haven't don't think I've done the Thursday weigh post before but am down from 133.4 to 132.2 from last Thursday. I had a 130 goal for Valentine's but it doesn't look like that will happen but I'm still shooting for it. Sarah, I know what you mean. I always get below 135 for a few weeks and then somehow manage to get back up to 136-138 range. I'm in the same boat so we'll just have to stay strong. I have a sweet 16 birthday party to attend tomorrow evening and am decorating 2 cakes for it to boot. Restraint is going to be tough so I am going to try and hover around the veggie tray. Do you think I would look rediculous if I taped my mouth shut Good luck to everyone else on their weigh-ins. Have a good day ladies. |

| The tricky part about getting into the 150's now is staying there for a while. next weekend is that party in Kansas where Ill have no control over the food and how its prepared. I'm already in panic mode over it. Making a trip to the store as soon as I get there and picking up special food for me. Maybe Ill cook for them too and show them that eating healthy doesn't mean eating cardboard | ||

Hi everyone ... saw my name in Rachels posting and had to respond. Have been llurking but not posting because I'm back on steroids (like Angie) for asthma. So discouraged - weight is up to 188 already and I fear where it will end up. Also I'm not to get too out of breath exercising so have to walk slowly on the treadmill. To add to my frustration my 94 year old Dad is hospitalized with a major infection which appears to be responding to antibiotics but after a week he's very weak and somewhat confused due to medication. Hoping to get him back to his long care home soon, which would certainly lift his spirits. I haven't been able to visit him because I somehow contracted pink eye and have to be away from both my parents for 14 days. Life sucks right now! Oh well, the sun is out for the first time in ages - we had over a foot of snow, on top of what we already had, but it looks so pretty. Long post ... sorry. Good luck to everyone on weigh-in day. Edited for spelling mistakes. Can't seem to do anything right lately! |

Kathryn its good to hear from you sorry to hear that your asthma is getting to you and about your dad being sick. Wow though... with him being 94yrs old sounds like hes tough. I worked in a nursing home and there were a lot people in there 90's and a couple in there 100's and still as feisty as ever. I was amazed at there strength. Hope he gets well soon.
Anyone notice there putting out swimsuits already. Oh I'm so scared of buying a new one. My one from last year is to big so its going to be hell picking out a new one this year and not really looking forward to it |

Orcasinger The old edition didnt allow dairy except for low fat cheese in the first phase. the new addition allows for low fat or fat free yogurt and milk. More research on the glycemic index came out later after the first book was written. I missed yogurt and milk during the first phase a lot Im glad it got added back in(I have the old edition)
WOOHOO Ill be shouting for your weigh in GOOD LUCK JAYNE!!!! |

South Beach Living Sweet Nut Creation bar.... Okay, I bought a box of these, without looking at the back, thinking they would be good for me to eat. I get them home, and they are 150 calories, super tiny, with 7 grams of fat, 18 carbs, of which 3 are fiber and 7 are sugar! WTH? So I start reading the ingredients. Peanuts, whole grain rolled oats, soy protein crisp, roasted almonds, high maltose corn syrup, evaporated cane juice invert syrup, sugar, fractionated palkm kernel oil, multigrain crisp, maltitol syrup, wheat flakes, nonfat milk, oligofructose, then less than 2% of a bunch of ingredients which include glycerin and brown rice syrup. So......what do you guys think about this? Is Kraft foods trying to sabatoge us? |

| I always look at the back of things now. New habit but a good one at least. I still have issues with the bread isle. Ive been known to sit on the ground in front of the wraps and read every single one... people think I'm crazy(maybe I am). I question Dr A at times with these quick meal things that kraft has come up with that hes endorsing. Some are scary. I prefer Kashi granola bars as a snack... when I actually eat one(my kids get to them first). I hear that there are higher fiber granola bars out there but have been unable to find them without leaving town. | ||

I always read the back of the box, but this one was a South Beach Living product, and I've enjoyed their high protein bars and meal replacement bars and 100 calorie bars so much I didn't even give this a second thought. I figured it would be along the same lines. Bah! That's what I get for thinking I can trust a company that's job is to get us to eat their food -- the more the better. I suppose I should know better now. |

heather: you should email the company. I would hate to think they are cashing in on the SouthBeach name. Sometimes I think I'd rather just have the real thing, than something pretending to be lower, when it isn't. brockcorydon: Hope your dad gets better fast. Sorry you are restricted from seeing him now. You have too much to worry about without worry about your weight right now. Just get better, over the asthma and pink eye and things will be back to normal before you know it and you can rejoin us. sarah: bathing suits..........oh no! I should try mine on to see if they fit. I got one 2 pc I love that the top comes down almost to the waist. Another is old and you know how that fabric can just give out suddenly. Another is old, but i took to Florida, for swimming in lakes and figured the fit didn't matter. I'd like to wait until they have sales, but thats a long time off. I don't even remember what I weighed when I bought these, but close to current weight. |

| Question regarding beans - does this include canned baked beans? | ||
| #439 | Feb 07 2008 21:33 | |
| Yummy baked beans...but I stay away from them cause I only like them with lots of brownsugar and mollasses( lots of sugar any way if you get my drift). I dont know. check the back of the can out I would say no if it it has added sugar. Maybe someone else could tell ya. I havent ate beans in over a year besides the green ones anyways | ||

SB citizens may remember it was only a week ago today that sun publicly confessed to a week long food binge but justice prevailed that day when she was sentenced to a 15 lb gain from 358 to 373. The good people of SB rallyed round a remorseful sun and its been reported that ever since, she has stayed true but will the scale be forgiving as the fine SB citizens? Were those reports merely damage control to cover a further fall to shame or did she build on the support of her SB peers? We stand outside the clinic where sun entered moments earlier and Im told theyre making an announcement. The numbers are in - 258.3! A lucky sun, maybe undeservingly so, has lost 14.7 of those 15 lbs, putting rumors to rest as she emerges from the clinic with no comment, just joyful smile as she speeding off. Is she out of the woods? It would seem so but overconfidence could put her at risk and she was reported speaking of herself in the third person. We will report back if with any new developments. Back to you, Steve. |
