MEMO: Okay guys, I'm a little peeved. I just erased the last memo by accident so I have to retype this whole thing. Not peeved at anyone in particular, just annoyed that I was dumb enough to erase it.
Well, I just got back from Atlanta. It was fun, except Stone Mountain. I did NOT enjoy the skyride and I would have willingly walked up the whole thing. But no! They had to drag the girl deathly afraid of heights, and I mean DEATHLY on the skyride. It was not a pretty scene at all!
But back to calorie-count:
I need things on time from now on! Every week I have to chase someone down for weigh in numbers. Captains if you know you won't be particulary active one week then designate someone on your team to send me the numbers. Team members if you notice that your captain is not very active, especially around weigh in days just be safe and send me the numbers. I don't mind reading them twice. (Not directed at you pagan)
I have changed this week's challenge because I saw one in the 179's group that I thought would be fun. BUT I STILL NEED EVERYONE's caloric intake by Wednesday (I extended it again) I need them for every single person on your team. If I do not have your individual caloric intake by Wednesday then you individually will not be allowed to participate in this future challenge. I'm sure your team will need all the help they can get.
So anyway this week's challenge will force you to pay attention to what you put in your mouth. Food Group Challenge! You will receive points for eating in each food group
Here are the food groups and the recommended servings.
THE FOOD GROUPS: June 11-June 17
Breads and Grains (6-11 servings)
Vegetables (3-5 servings)
Fruits (2-4 servings)
Dairy (2-3 servings)
Proteins (2-3 servings)
Fats, Oils, & Sweets (A little here a little there)
Water (Depends)
THE FOOD GROUP Points per serving:
Breads and Grains 3 points per serving
Vegetables 6 points per serving
Fruits 4 points per serving
Dairy 4 points per serving
Proteins 3 points per serving
Fats, Oils, & Sweets .5 points per serving But if you eat over 5 servings of this group you will subtract 1 point for each serving you eat over this. SO if I eat 6 serving I will have 1.5 points instead of 3 points since I would have 2.5 points for the 5 serings I ate, minus the 1 point for the extra serving I ate over that. SO if I ate 7 serving I would have .5 points, and if I ate 8 servings I would have -.5 points which of course will hurt your score. &nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp;
Water .25 point per serving ( 1 serving of water is 8 ounces of it) I made water worth so little because I know some of you can really put it away! LOL
I ask all of you to be honest with yourself. I know there will be plenty of questions as to which foods belong in which food groups. If I ate a donut I would include it in the sweets category not the grains. If I had a milkshake I would include it in the sweets. If I had sugar free low fat icecream I would include it in the dairy. All I can ask if that you be honest with yourself.

Oh, and the SUGGESTION BOX IS OPEN FOR FUTURE CHALLENGES. I only have ideas for the next couple of weeks, but after that its blank. Please email your suggestions to me, all of your ideas are GREATLY appreciated.

Oh no...I'm going to have to read this one over a couple more times to make it sink in my brain. Lol Yeah, I'm a little slow this AM. Every ounce of muscle on me is sore right now. OK, I gotte get off here, got a game to help out with. Maybe I'll pop some tylenol and worry about the soreness later. Yeah, sounds like a plan. Lol
I sent nycolea a message asking if the points for the fats category was for the week or the day. Because if we get a point deducted for over 6 servings for the whole week then I'm screwed b/c I make sure I allow myself those treats. I don't restrict any foods from my diet so long as they fit into my calories.

I need to get one of you guys to give me a little kick in the butt to remind me to go to the gym. any little boot will help. I took a whole week off and it was painful today to go.

O wow I'm pissed! I just typed otu a whole explanation for making a chart to make this challenge easier and my cat stepped on something on my computer and made itall disappear!!!!! grrrr well here it goes again:
ok so i suggest making a chart to keep track of everything for this challenge. Have each food category in it's own column and each day in it's own row. So you have a table w/ food categories on the top and days down teh side. Throughout the day or at the end of hte day, you can make little marks or hash marks in the appropriate box that corresponds to the day and food category. then you can simply multiply the number of hash marks by the number of points per serving you get for that food category and add everything! that should make it a lot easier to keep track of stuff I hope. How does that sound?

Hi all my fellow H4Lers!!!! How is everyone today??? Im exhausted and beat up my body is so sore i walked around,jumped,ran,got pushed around,hit, and whatever else u can imagine for 12 HOURS.....and i think this is fun???? hmmmmm the good news is i drank 128 ounces of water at the show and before the show yesterday, along with having about 8 margaritas ate alot of food well over my calories BUT i lost .5 pound!!! lol kinds funny musta been the fact i was on my feet and walking and all for 12 hours!! What a blast!! TY SO MUCH KT FOR DOING NUMBERS FOR ME!!!
Now on to incrediable new WE WON THE WATER DRINKING CHALLENGE, AND FOR THE WEEK thats a big woooooooo freaking hoooooooooo WTG guys u rock!!!! WE ROCK!!!

kt-I printed out your suggestion and will try making myself a spreadsheet based on it. I hope it helps. This one really does seem a little confusing. I should be fine with hitting the categories (I think) because I try to eat a good variety. Hmm, I guess this will show me if I'm wrong. Yikes!
Speaking of which, I o.d. on the sodium yesterday because today I'm up from Saturday. I know it is sodium because my fingers feel swollen. I'm going to reweigh tomorrow morning to see if it fixes itself. *tries to cross swollen fingers*

Holy COW Don, you should've seen it. Ball game drama! Two coaches got into a fight (in the diamond next to us), one of the mom's from our team fainted from dehydration, ambulance was called...Geez, so much drama!!! Amusement park was fun, thanks for asking. I am sore but not as bad. I should be good to go to get some volleyball in tonite. I'm really feeling the shift in my fat vs muscle. I'm really lovin it!!!
