I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

Hey, has anyone tried Turbo Jam or Hip Hop Abs?  Just wondered what to add to my BIU to give myself a little variety?
Me and a couple others here also use Turbo Jam. I personally like it a lot! It is totally different than SI6. Different mood, pace and routine. I recommend it if you want a jumping around high charge energy (the trainer challene actually cracks me up and really makes the whoe workout fun by her hyperness and perkiness!) variation to the SI6 routine.
By the way, if you guys check my profile, I posted information about SI6. If you got something to add please IM me so I can edit :) thanx!
Great info Sweet, direct and to the point and most all accurate!

Thanks for the info Sweet, I also read the details on SI6.  It was very informative!  Thanks.  I think I'll try Turbo Jam.  But first I need to get back into RIU and BIU.
I just got back from Jamaica.  I took the BIU DVD with me, totally intending to do it, but just relaxed instead.  The good thing was I walked a ton and the food wasn't that great.  Especially the desserts, it's like they don't use the same kind of sugar or something.  Tasteless.  I didn't come home with addictions!  I'm still exhausted though, but I WILL DO IT TODAY - RIU OR BUST!

What's the difference between Turbo Jam 3T and AB?  Anyone know?  Thanks.
I just started with SIU last night to test the waters.  It was great!  I didn't have a problem keeping up with the routine, however I'm not too sure how my form was.  I think I'll do this one a few more times until I'm comfortable, then move on to RIU.  I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how SI6 works for me

Side note:  I've noticed that the instructors in all the fitness videos I've seen have fairly large thighs.  What's up with that?  I certainly do not need my thighs to get any larger!  :)
As for the large thighs... I also have athletic muscular thighs, large but not fat by any means, no cellulite...  anyhow once I got into the BIU part of SI6 I cut out the lunges portion of the routine all but once a week.  I cringe looking at my thigh muscle protruding over my knee... my husband thinks I am insane!  I have to come to terms that my 5'3" body is not going to produce long lean slim legs at this stage of the game (29)!
aly - I wish I could have this thought years ago prior to starting martial arts! Soon enough you won't see my knees due to my muscles - LOL!

lissa, welcome to Si6! The instructors do not have the thighs like that from doing the exercises in the videos! They sure did a lot of weight training for that. Take a look at Debbie's muscles all over her body! I don't thing you will have an issue if your thighs are looking "normal" right now. Nevertheless, if you are affraid of strange development, try aly's solution. But don't let this matter to keep you away from the Si6 routine
mcgee33- what did u eat?... im jamaican and am curious to know.

Alydaven- i came to that conclusion last week as well. when i started SI6 my thighs were 25' now they are 23' and 5 weeks later they havent budged they are just muscle. And then i say to myself at 5"1 how long and lean can they get.

Well i did BIU along with SLim and 6 pack and felt great. i think im going to take today off.  i always say that until i get home and its staring me in the face saying "come feel the burn". but im going to try not to today... especially because of the Po'boy sale going on in the squadron. i bought a ticket (had to support the squadron) lol

messam - about the food comment...  some of it was great, like the jerk chicken, of course, and all the fresh fruit.  the steaks were also wonderful.  however, I get kindof grossed out about unveined shrimp and miniature octapus and stuff like that.  also the desserts were pretty tasteless and the ice cream was much different than what I'm used to.  all in all I was glad because I didn't overeat.  I was never that hungry either, so I must have been satisfied.  Oh, the other thing was the hamburgers, they grilled them, then left them in a pile in a pan of liquid - unappetizing.  breakfast was great, omelets, bacon, delicious donuts, pancakes, fruit, cereal.  maybe it was just because I wasn't as hungry in the heat and were coming off a very cold winter when we tend to eat more.  I love salads with fruit and nuts and cheese - not much of that type of food.  anyway, I hope I didn't offend... do you live in Jamaica?  what do you eat?
no u didnt offend me.. i was just curious.. no im from brooklyn. i think u had more resort food than traditional jamaican food.  Cuz hamburgers, octopus pancakes etc are not traditional breakfast.  sorry..
Octopus pancake? I only know takoyaki which is a snack kinda like pancake but a ball shape with a piece of octopus meat inside. And that is yummer with some teriyaki/soy sauce and ginger shavings ^_^I think I eat a lot of weird stuff hahahaha. But when I travel outside US I try not to eat too exotic food for fear that some bacteria might not agree with me & I dont want to ruin my vacay :)

Regarding thighs, I think if you see Debbie outside her gym thights, you wont see the thighs as big. Also, my guess is that she is taking a bit more supplement than us regular folks do, especially she gotta show some muscles (just see her abs) all the time.

The jigglers and cellulite at the back and side of my thighs are still there :/ Keep telling myself that I ill eat clean, but no chance in freezing hell LOL ... oh well. I guess I gotta love what I have for now (and make sure drinking more water... I don't want to ever not be able to pull on my jeans again like 2 days ago!)
I am in week 7 and feeling so great.  I went back to SIU since my husband joined - and we are back on track with RIU.  I feel that i have mastered RIU in that  i can work out with hubby and have a conversation...He can't quite complete sentences...hahahhaha...but i can see improvement coming to him fast.

I was dropping my son off at school yesterday and someone came up to me and asked if i was losing weight because i looked awesome!  WOO HOO!!!!  That was all the motivation i needed.  Even though the scale is only down like 3lbs...I feel myself shrinking.  Even at the end of the day my pants are still loose!

I'm going to stick with RIU through Saturday and then we're onto BIU for 3 weeks.  Good luck to everyone today.

BTW:  I'm still off my starbucks kick.  I've only had two in two weeks.  I appreciate greatly the motivation I get from this forum.
Good job julie! :) Yeah, some husbands just don't get how hard our workout is. We just make it look ez ~.^

That words for your son is the greatest. Keep it up. He will have the hottest mom in the school :)
it came it came it came!!!

woo for stretchy bands! :)

Tonight is nite #1. I've already taken my 30 minute brisk walk this morning and drank tons of water. Woo my body is going to transform!
Yay!  We should all coordinate on times that we work out and create a new thread so that we can support and give feedback there?

oh bummer, i changed my mind, erased my reply and hit "post reply", oops, sorry everyone. I guess I'm a woman of few words he, he.
Ladies, you might know that but, oh, well, it doesn't hurt telling you again... You also have to diet to get rid of the cellulite: no coffee, no cigarettes, no pastas and potatoes, no rafinated sugars (I don't know if this is the word..). I read in a book about a Japaneese "cure" to prevent you from getting cellulite: after each shower move from really hot water to really cold water. So you take the shower, then use hot water (as hot as you can stand it) and then switch to cold water (as cold as you can stand it). Make sure you start with your extremities. You don't want to give yourself a heart attack. The person who gives me an anti-cellulite massage once a week told me that at the end of the massage she will just use an ice cube on my muscles. I told her I am doing this shower "game", she told me it is very effective, therefore she will not use the ice cube. So, if you want to get rid of the cellulite use diet too, not only exercises, take a massage at least once a week and try to use the shower part to prevent new cellulite to form. It was/still is effective for me! (sorry for the long post, and a bit off topic as well..)
