140/130 club

Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

kiigan, you just inspired me ... i just bought some online.  hopefully by the time they come, i'll fit in them. ;)
awesome :) i tend not to buy stuff before i can fit in because i've just found that no matter how cute i think smtg looks, it just might look awful on me :) LOL. no matter HOW thin i am :)
i absolutely agree, but i had to belt my jeans this morning to not have them slide down when i walk ... so, i'm thinking it's likely by the time they arrive i'll fit in them.  plus, they're the same jeans i have now, just smaller!
I am now entering my fat phase.. For some reason I FEEL fat. Looking in the mirror is not helping because I look only at the bulges. It is very hard to love myself (my physical self at least) during such days. The odd thing is that Im generally kinder to myself - considering I liked how I looked even when I was 10 lbs heavier.

Anyone else feel this way at any time? It is confusing..

It sure is motivating diet-wise- remembering my bulges is helping me to keep off of any fatty food... kills cravings before they start - but I dont like disliking myself..
hi carabo, cheer up!  you're losing weight ... you're getting closer and closer every day to your goals!  i think we all hit these blocks along the way.  it's far easier to be critical of yourself than proud of yourself.

i think over time we get used to the slimmer bod so we're quick to judge it the way you used to, however many pounds ago.  i've been recently feeling the same way myself.

i decided to view this feeling as a reset.  i need to change so much more, so i decided to let the feeling motivate me like it did 8 pounds ago.  like you said, when you feel this way you are super good diet-wise!  And in a few weeks your body will look better than it has in months and you will be proud of yourself again!!  you'll again be looking in the mirror seeing muscles you haven't seen in years and a waist-line you dearly missed. ;)

don't let this get you down, the feeling will pass, but let it motivate you in the meantime!
we all have those days, carabo--and they suck. hardcore.  and i dont' know that we'll ever be able to get over them completely.  but i hope that you also have other days when you look in the mirror and see the progress you've made--or days when you get dressed and just feel really really sexy.

so just try to think back about the progress you've made so far. it might not make you feel completely better, but hopefully you'll be a little bit more confident.  a lot of people say to just "fake it till you feel it"--and that's what i try to do.

but like teenwolf said--let it motivate you to keep losing weight and inches and shaping the body that you really want.
I'm with you Carabo... I hate those days!!

I felt like this the other night and I told myself not to get discouraged - it was PMS bloat! Plus the whole PMS thing makes me want to eat more.

I'm sure it's the increased exercise but I feel hungry so darn often now! I wish I didn't b/c I do make bad choices...

Maybe you can look at some old pictures where you are heavier and see for yourself that you have already done so much - you should be proud of your successes so far!
How much should i weigh to be a size 8 at 5'6?

im new to this site. Im 5'6 and weigh 140lbs, and a size 10/12. I want to be a slim size 8, how much will i need to weigh to be that size? i used the BMI calulator thing but that says i can go down to 120lbs to be 18.5, do i really need to loose as much as 20lbs?

Ive always battelled with my figure and hate my huge bum and thighs, my weight rarely changes. I generally go out for dinner to resturants 4 nights a week, i try dieting for a few days, but never really manage it as i have to go out so often though usually to very good resturants so the food is quite healthy, i move a few lbs up and down but never really change. I go to the gym or ballet 3 times a week.
chelsea--

everyone's body is different, so there's no way to tell you what weight you need to be to be a size 8.  i'm 5'5", 143-144 lbs, and border right between size 8 and 10 in women's and between 9 and 11 in juniors.

18.5 is a pretty low BMI--so i wouldn't worry about getting down that low. this site recommends going no lower than a 20 BMI.  120 lbs is pretty low for someone your height.  I'm shorter and aiming for 125-130.

probably the best way to try to shave off some inches and shape your thighs and butt is going to be through regular strength training combined with good cardio.  a lot of people are able to lose inches and dress sizes even when they don't lose any lbs.  especially if you eat out so often, it's going to be hard to maintain a really healthy diet.  so if you're not doing strength training now, i'd recommend doing that--especially squats and lunges and variations thereof to shape the gluts and thighs.
oops forgot that this is an American site. im a UK 10/12 which i believe is a US 6/8 and i want to drop two size making me a US 4. Seems quickest way to loose two dress sizes is to go to america i already sound slimmer :-)
LOL. looks like it!  so i can't help you out much though--you're already slimmer than i! but again--i'd stress exercise and toning over dieting in your situation.
chelsea-  something to remember that someone posted a week or two back.  she was saying that her friend was a size 16 at 160 lbs.  then she gained a lot more weight.  when she lost the weight, she did it with exercise and toning for the first time.  when she hit 160 lbs again she found that she was a size 8 this time.  toning makes you really lose the inches without seeing the lbs actually drop.  i agree with kiigan that this would be ideal method for you since you're already in your healthy range.
yeah--good luck with that chelsea!

in other news, i'm happy cuz my size 8 pants from express are fitting very well today :) i've worn them a few times so they're all comfy and stretched out :)  plus the waist is too big! which is my chronic problem.  waist is too big, thighs are too tight *sigh*
what do you do when you're running 30-40 minutes most days, eating 1300 calories, mommying 3 little kids (still nursing the baby!) and sitting there at 138 for 4 weeks solid!? My rings are tight lately...maybe a few pounds of water retention? My goal is less 130, but it seems impossible! My very cool husband says that he can SEE lots of change...why doesn't the scale register it then?
have you tried checking fat percentage levels? taking measurements? the scale is not the end-all-be-all and doesn't always reflect changes in your body and appearance.  muscle weights more than fat. also, if you've been sittin' pretty for 4 weeks--you've probably plateaued.  the general advice at that point is to increase your calories and/or change your workout routine.  if all you do is running, try something else--your body has probably grooved and is accustomed to the routine.  and it's counter-intuitive, but increasing your calories by 200-300 calories can really help by breaking your body out of routine and giving your metabolism a boost.  but again, the scale won't reflect all changes so you can't let it have the final say.
kiigan, congratulations!!
Whooo, I just came from the 150s group...I'm 149/148 ish and have been there on the scale for 5 days or so, so I THINK I'm pretty safe. Looking to get 130-135. WE can do it!
welcome crysteas!!!!  always fun to have new people!

i rescued a pair of pants from teh donation pile yesterday! woohoo!
hi crysteas - welcome!  congrats on officially joining the 140s club. :)
I'm at a clean 148 this morning.. how is everyone else doing ?

My depression and negative feelings last week may have been because I was coming down with a bad cold :) ! Well, my head is still a bit heavy, but I'm picking up otherwise !

The cold is making me eat a lot - so I have to try hard not to sabotage my diet goals :).

Also, when I tried running yesterday- I felt  tired and out of breath in 20 minutes so I gave it up.. Will try again today for a bit!
