Greetings!
I am hoping that this site I stumbled on will help me out. I have been on a diet or fighting with food my entire life. About 8 years ago I lost about 100 pounds, my lowest weight was 204 then I had my first child at 40. Now I am 220 and he'll be three this June. The only good news is that I do not weight 300 + pounds anymore having said that - No excuses, my food addiction problem has been out of control now since his birth. I try - and try - and try - and still nothing seems to be working. Maybe I can find a friend here who will help give me the strength I need to be healthy. I need to stay alive for my family.

Well it is Friday, so... Well I did deserve it after partying for nearly a week, it could have been worse.

Finally some movement! I've been pretty good this week food-wise, but I've been resting up for a 5k race this Saturday and doing light workouts this week.
I'm sorry to hear that you both are suffering from IBS. I hear it's really painful. My husband has insomnia also, and he finds that exercising close to bedtime tires him out enough that he can get some sleep. I find it wakes me up too much, but everyone's different.
Well it's time to head off to work!

I was 178.5 yesterday so bit disappointed to see it up even though only .5 - do you all see daily scale swings too? I find it so frustrating! I actually saw 177.5 one day but then....it disappeared! I did pretty well this week with eating and exercise that I would expect to see bigger drops. But what can I do! Whats the ol' saying....slow and steady wins the race! I think my latest IBS bout is over and hopefully won't have another episode this bad for a while. I can't figure out what I did to trigger it either! C
Cynthia - Good luck on your race this weekend!
Hope Danica wins too!
Hope you all enjoy the long weekend. I know we are supposed to have really nice weather here in NY so I'm hoping to be out and about all weekend! It is "Fleet Week".....best time of the year :-)

I've been trying to build the muscle in my legs back up. So that's probably why I only lost 1 pound. After barely walking for 2 yrs, I have my work cut out for me! :) Hubby told me yesterday I look alot lighter than 183! He said more like 160! lol.......I wish!
I try not to weigh myself everyday bc of the swings on the scale. It's water weight. I can have a difference of 5 lbs from day to day! That's why I keep track month to month. Easier that way. I weigh myself every week, but it's nice to see that month to month weight.
Hey guys...Sorry for being MIA. Just got back from my trip last week and it took me a while to get caught up on things.
I decided to not diet while I was gone. I figured it would be too difficult to make sure I was eating "right" while out running around in canyons and playing around. As of this morning, I have been off my diet for about three weeks and I have put on about 7lbs, which isn't bad considering I have been eating everything in sight for the last MONTH. LOL
I needed the time off for my sanity!
I did take tons of pics, but haven't had much time to go through them. I will post some when I get them done.
So, even though it isn't Friday, I am weighing in this morning at 235. I'll weight in again on Friday!
I am refreshed and ready to get rid of this last 35lbs!
Welcome back Terry! I can't wait to see the pics. 7 lbs isn't bad for 3 weeks of eating everything in sight! :) Now you're refreshed and ready to get started. I'm sure you'll get rid of the gained weight as fast as you put it on! You always do so well.
Welcome back Terry! Again, 7lbs isn't so bad spread over 3-4 weeks, and I'm sure you'll catch back up in no time :)
My run on Saturday went really well. My time for the 5k was 37:55, 5min faster than my time from last year, so even though my weight isn't all that different I'm a lot fitter than I was. The fastest time was 15:something and the fastest woman was 17:something, which blows me away! My husband did the race too, and we're both really happy to have accomplished that.
I had some pasta with sausage Saturday night for the first time in ages, and it bumped me up a couple of pounds (salt?), but that seems to have settled back down.
Welcome Back Terry. Don't worry about the 7lbs - you sound rejuvenated and ready to get back to business now! You'll drop em in no time!
Congrats on your run Cynthia! I'm impressed. You should be very proud of yourself! I was never a runner. I get on my treadmill at night but can still only run a mile or so and that's a struggle. I put it on an incline and walk fast now. Seems to be a bit easier on the joints!
hello everyone,
I have been away for a few weeks. My dad passed away May 16th so I have been in Northern Maine(Fort Kent) . I have not gotten on the scale yet, kinda scared too. In times of grief nothings better then comfort food, and there was plenty of that around. Glad to be back....need to get myself back on track.Hope all is well with everyone
Claire
Oh Claire I am so sorry. I feared that we had not heard from you because something had happened. I have been thinking of you lately and I hope that you are doing okay. I'll remember you and your family in my prayers.
I hope that we can help you get back on track, Terry and I both are recovering from having gotten off track for a while also.
It doesn't feel that I should be doing the Friday morning thing right now, but I will start it since I am here. No good news on the weigh in for me, but not really bad news either so I cannot really complain.

Sandy, Thank you for keeping us in your prayers, I guess I didnt do as bad as i thought,I actually lost 1 pound in the last few weeks. I have no idea how that happened, Seems like people where pushing food at us the whole time we where up there.
Claire I'm really sorry to hear you lost your dad. Nothing hurts quite like losing a family member. Think about the good times you had with him. I'll keep you in my thoughts too.

cynthb - Cynthia 172.6 up 1
Considering my birthday was Wed and I've been eating badly all week, that's not too surprising.

Claire - Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad in November and I wish I could give you some comforting words, but I know from experience that nothing helps. Think of the good times and remember he is always still with you. I still "feel" my dad around me and it gives me some comfort. God Bless you and your family.
I forgot to weigh in this morning! Was thrown off by my daughter waking me saying I needed to call and get an appt with a mechanic to have her car inspected! GEEZE!!!! Why can't she call herself? She'll be 21 on the 9th of June!
Claire - I'm so very sorry your Dad was taken from you. I haven't lost a parent yet, so I don't know how that feels. I send my condolences to you and your family.
I will weigh in tomorrow morning and post it.
EDIT: 5-31 I weighed in this morning at 183, no change. Better luck this week! I'm changing up my diet by eating new foods. Hope this helps.
It is going to be a busy month for me but I wanted to keep a better eye on what I ate this month (since I know that I will be running around alot). There are two weddings, another graduation (had four others just two weeks ago), my parents are having a gathering to celebrate their 50th anniversary, some other relatives are celebrating their 40th this weekend and there is a baby shower (grandbaby #5) also this weekend. Lots of temptation here. The weather is great though and I am feeling pretty good, rain came along and has beaten the pollen counts down to a tolerable level for me. I took the oldest grandson out to the back yard last night and played on the swing set with him for a couple of hours (I feel that this morning). There are plenty of things that have happened lately to make me feel lousy, but all in all things are good and I think I just want to enjoy it while it lasts. I hope everyone is having a good week and hey, I heard about some greeting cards they send from the white house for special occasions (weddings, anniversaries, births and birthdays) and I sent for one for my folks. They were thrilled & it didn't cost anything, so if anyone wants the web info let me know. Believe it or not the government did something quickly and efficiently and best of all at no extra out of pocket cost...
Wow Sandy you sound busy! Great to hear about the pollen count being down, though, that makes life so much more pleasant.
I've been pretty bad workout-wise this week, and I had a piece of cheesecake at the restaurant last night, but surprisingly my weight has been pretty constant. The big test will come this weekend and next, when we go to a friend's cottage (2 weekends in a row, yay!) which is always a big junk food fest. I'll try to bring along healthy options though. I'm really looking forward to the relaxation - work is very blah these days.
I haven't gotten in much exercise the last few weeks and there have been wonderful foods everywhere. I can't complain though since I really haven't gained so I guess that I am doing ok. Work has been very stressful lately, I am so happy that the weekend is almost here. Well I have lots to do today so I'd better get at it. I am feeling motivated, it is Germanfest here this weekend and I plan to get to the beer tent! I plan to "earn" my drink so that I don't have to worry about gaining anything, then I won't feel guilty about enjoying it. I hope everyone else has some relaxation scheduled this weekend!
It was super hot here....90's! So I normally walk outside (no treadmill), but since it was hot and humid, I went to the mall! I rather enjoyed it! Walking and looking in the windows at the clothes I want to buy when I lose more weight! Right now I don't buy expensive clothes. I don't wear them long enough. :D
This weekend....hmmmmm I don't know what we'll be doing. It's gonna remain hot and humid and that just doesn't agree with me. It makes me so tired. I am grilling out tomorrow to give the central air a break. I love cooking on our grill!
Hope the weekend is fun for ya'all ! ;D
Be back tomorrow to weigh in!
