Hello ladies-
Well, I am going to sign out until next Thurs. already up 4lbs this morning! LOL, not completely discouraged, but it seems like its taking its time to calm the flare-up. Before it was take the stupid steroids and they would start working right away, not the case this time. I hope I am not becoming tolerant. So I feel lost, no gym for a couple of days. Not doing to bad on food, making some bad choices, but not going off the deep end. Hoping to get back into the routine tomorrow.
So anyway, I wish all of you loads of luck and will check back in next Thursday! I PROMISE!!!!
Keep up the great work, oh that's right I will be checking in on Valentine's Day, how ironic!
See you all then!
See ya Angie dont worry I know you wont fall off the deep end(dont make me get out my celery stick)HA HA!!!
Get better (before you-know-who) gets out that celery she's brandishing around.
I'm confused. The "foods to enjoy" list has lima beans and butter beans on it but looking at the nutrition labels they are both really high in carbs, 22g and 18g per serving respectively.
Also~
I have been really punchy and in a really bad mood this afternoon, which is not like me at all. I haven't had any carbs or sugar in 2 days and I am a carb junkie. Is this normal? I keep hugging my kids and apologizing to them because I keep snapping at them for really stupid stuff. Again, not like me.
Lahoo, OP is the first original post on this thread which has links you can click for info. Beans do have carbs but they are high fiber too which counteracts the carb affect of raised blood sugar. The fiber is extremely healthy and keep you full too which is why beans are encouraged daily but I suspect because they tend to run high cal then say vegs, they say 1/3-1/2 daily.
Your irritability may be due to stopping carbs. Most of us found the first days toughest but it wears off soon enough. Hang in there and expect it to get better.
Looking forward to your return Angie! Missed you guys today but still trying my best to get back to my weight prior to gain although not expecting it by Thursday, but hopefully by next week. Wishing you guys better luck towards Valentines day.
Lahoo, hang in there. I just finished Phase 1 and I got a little cranky but not too bad. Caffeine and coffee were the hardest for me since I don't like decaf drinks. I went from around 60 oz of coffee to 10 oz and it was tough but you will weather through. Good luck and just keep telling yourself you are in a good mood. It helps.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Been on Phase 2 for 2 days and already putting some weight back on. Trying not to get discouraged especially since I only added yogurt and a TBS of coffee creamer back in.
Can someone tell me how to post the Thursday weight? Do you have a format? I was going to start posting on Thursdays.
Thanks to all for all the help the past fewweeks. You guy are wonderful.
Wings - well done on making it to Phase 2!!! I know in the past some of the girls have logged the calories because its easier to keep track of what you're eating - especially when introducing the good carbs back in.
Lahoo - hang in there!! You are doing great & you can do it!!
Jayne - well done with the healthy eating!! How is the walking going??
Angie, how everything goes ok!! Talk to you Thursday!!!
Rachel - well done on the drop yesterday!! I seem to heading on the opposite end of the scales!!
Well today is the start of Lent, and although I'm not very religious, I decided to take the opportunity to use this period to give up sugar. Takes 40 days to break a habit (apparently!!)
So how has everyone else doing??
Sun: can you post last Thursday's weights?
Due to superbowl (how long can I use that excuse?) I am over last weeks weight by 1 lb., but maybe it will come off today. I have a lot of running around, plus dentist, so won't be munching. Also will keep drinking lots of water to flush sodium.
I am offically on South Beach beginning today. But......haven't picked the day, just know it won't be day 1 AGAIN. I'm at 177.5 this morning so will see what 8 days on SB will do for me.
good luck to everyone today.
My sister in law gives up crazy hard things for lent I dont know how she does it with out cracking
You rock wings I never gave up my caffeine although I dont drink diet soda any more. Just two cups of coffee a day. Welcome to phase two. I started counting cals in phase two and it seemed to help a lot just to see what carbs I was eating.
Lori south beach diet plan goes by the glycemic Index on food similar to the sugar solution diet plan. Veggies and beans have sugar but there at the low end plus as Jayne said lots of fiber
Well, "Operation Treadmill-Fiber" seems to be working.
I was disappointed on Sunday with just a 1.4 pound loss for last week, which I didn't feel accurately reflected my calorie deficit or my exercise for last week ... so I decided to step things up a notch this week with EXTRA fiber as well as some EXTRA time on the treadmill. (Did you know that one cup of Fiber One cereal is just 120 calories and has 28 grams of fiber? Isn't that amazing?) I've been eating a cup of Fiber One for my evening snack, along with 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze (20 calories) .... this serves to keep my blood sugars high enough for my bedtime insulin shot and it fills me up and keeps me from being hungry all evening. (And I've already surpassed my treadmilling goal for this week!)
Anyway, I stepped on the scale this morning and, woo hoo! Down another 2 pounds!!! This puts me at 287.4 and 81.6 pounds lost in less than 6 months!
=^..^= MOLLY
How is everyone doing today??
176.2
Down from 176.5, no big whoop, but down is down. I gave up night time eating (with few exceptions) for Lent. That has always been my downfall. Will only have decaff or tea at night.
Called and drove past "Bally's" yesterday. It's a HUGE 2 story place and bigger than what I'm looking for. This little one down the street is no bigger than my living room and thats too small. I'm feeling like Goldilocks, not finding one that is 'just right'.
I bought a 'tub' of lettuce yesterday and fixing a big salad is the most interesting thing I will eat today. Maybe will toast some walnuts to put in.
Can't wait to see how everyone else did on weigh in.
Gina, Ashtons teacher was gone yesterday so I couldnt ask about stanley(the sub was clueless). Sometimes i wonder how these teachers keep their jobs being gone so much.
Rachel your so right down is down. I went to bed early last night to avoid munching on junk.
Okay drumroll please.....159.5....Woohoo Im so happy this morning. This is where I get and then go back up again.. This time its not going to happen Im so tired of bouncing around the 160's. I really need some new numbers. Good luck everyone else on the weigh-in
