Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?
I guess I better weigh in.
Last Week: 257 lbs.
This Week: 258 lbs.
Serious plateau folks. I've stayed on track this whole time. I now need to change up my routine. I'm gonna try zig zagging my calories and working out a bunch more. I hope I can turn this around. I'm not even half way to my goal and I'm already plateauing. Not a good thing. I'm trying to stay positive though. So I guess wish me luck.
Also, best of luck to the rest of you.

Hi all - I posted in this group 2 weeks ago but was out of town last friday
3/14: 177 lbs
3/21: 173 lbs
Haha, not sure I trust that number though...yesterday it said 176 (might've been ttom messing things up). I have been pretty good though, keeping on track for calories and working out 6x a week
WEIGH DAY ![]()
Maintaining weight 140
Current weight 139.6
Kirstendon't get down on yourself, this maybe too personal but is it near your TOTM, maybe thats why the slight weight gain. Congrats on the new move, once I get a new job a plan on moving also.
BigBrettkeep doin what you do, plateaus seem inevitable mine lasted over a month and then I ended up having to raise my calorie intake and that helped me. I've heard of a lot of ppl zigzagging their cals also I guess it's just trial and error.
Congrats to all the other losers and all the maintainers keep up the good work. All the gainers stick with it, you can do it
I am 25 years young and I weigh at 181 lbs. I have lost 10 lbs since Feb 1st. I would really love to join this group.
Thanks Jstone I hope so. And yes Amayou it was ttom but Ive been super lazy lately and now theres no room to set up my exercise stuff cause theres tons of boxes everywhere lol. So I guess Ill just have to try extra hard to be extra active untill life calms back down. Thanks guys!
Welcom frehug good luck.
Happy Easter
I havent been doing my weigh in's the past maybe two weeks? Maybe it's just been the one...haven't been eating good either. It's like summer here right now...(YAY!!) but that means that we've been quadding and drinking and eating hot dogs (BOOOO) last time i weighed myself it said i was up 3 pounds, can defintally believe it. Anyone else having a hard time?? LOL. My measurements are pretty much the same as they were two weeks ago, so i know i haven't been doing THAT bad but still bad enough that i'm not losing!!
24 here.
My wife and I started our weight-loss routine last week. We've drastically changed our diets and started excercising at the local YMCA, and we are loving it so far.
I've been obese since I can remember, and I've decided it's time for a change.
I started at 6'2" and 319lbs, and I'm hoping to get down to around 215-225ish.
welcome deathrocket. i have around the same stats as you. i'm a 24 year old male, 6' 3", started at 320 lbs., looking to get to 185 lbs. i am currently around 250-255. so if you need any advice or motivation or anything, i am here. this is a fantastic group of younger people all helping each other out.
so once again, welcome.

Good job so far, brett.
I guess my primary question would be about my workout routine.
As of right now I do the following:
MON, WED, FRI: 60 minutes of treadmill at a brisk walk. I average somewhere around 3.5 miles during this routine. Of course, I'm going to work up to an eventual job.
TUES, THURS, SAT: 30 minutes of treadmill at brisk walk. Usually 1.7 miles. And I do my weigh routine. The YMCA I work out at has a system called FitLinx, and I do an 11 machine circuit there.
I know the details are kind of sparse, but does this seem like a good plan to you? Any help with the exercise portion of this ordeal would be fantastic. My wife and I are doing alright with the food, but since I've never exercised before, I have some questions in that area.
sounds like your workout routine is quite good. i used to workout at a YMCA as well, so i know about the fitlinx system. i'd say stick with what you are doing. as long as you see results and eat enough, but not too much...i say stick with it. i wish i could workout as much as you do. i get lazy and tell myself, i'm losing weight without going to the gym, so why go? terrible i know.
keep up the good work, and let us know how it goes.

It's great that you're getting to the gym and working out so much. Have you considered walking outside as well? Of course it depends on where you live and when you work out, but finding a nice trail or neighborhood and walking there some of the time could help change things up a little and keep you from getting bored with the treadmill. Programs like Google Earth are great for tracking how far you went if you're walking/jogging outside.
I've been hoping to start some outdoor walks and hikes once I progress some more.
Right now, the YMCA is the best option for me, due to the fact that my wife and I can go together and they'll watch the baby for up to 2 hours.
I think it's great that you and your wife are doing this together. That spousal support is key.![]()
For sure!
hey everyone, i've missed you! today's weigh-in right? i missed last week's but no change for me anyway
CW: still hanging out @ 158lbs
been watching myself pretty good, and i think i've been gaining muscle while losing fat so i'm not too worried about maintaing...plus i feel totally energized, which is an awesome feeling! hope you all are stepping it up, summer's around the corner!!
welcome all the newbies!! we're all here for each other, this is a great support group!
Ugh, so, I've been doing really bad :(
Missed last weeks' weigh in but Mar 14 I was at 145.8
CW: 158.8
4 pounds gained :( Horrible. I haven't been going to the gym though, and i defintally haven't been watching what I eat. Finding it kinda hard with my husband being on spring breakup and home all the time. Goal for next week is going to be 156 though....so lets hope I start watching everything!! Wish me luck!!
Last week: 171.6
This week: 171.6
Not impressed. I had a few days where I ate like a moose, but I still had a calorie deficet of 2400 for the week, so I should have gone down a little. ![]()
ate like a moose thats too funny. Well I havent weighd in for a while but as of this morning Im back to 173.5. I seem to be stuck, but like i said there isnt much I can do about it right now because we are in the middle of moving.
theferet is right, its crunch time lol. Once we are all organized I have to get back on track and loose some fat! I mentioned before that Im in an upcomming wedding party, Id really like to loose ATLEAST another 10lbs before that.
Char, we all make mistakes and Ive definitely had unwanted gains since I started loosing. Just learn from those mistakes and youll be fine.
glad to see everyone's still checking in.....discouragement only goes so far guys, remember why you're here! i've been getting my ass kicked at the gym, and have had no time for any excuses, plus the weather's getting better and the sun's been positively peeking out every day.....let's go boys and girls, i wanna see some numbers drop next week!! if anyone needs to get some distractions out of the way, then let's hear it, vent vent vent if you need to, then get out there! this is why we're all here, for each other
CRUUUUNNCCCCCHHHHHH TIIIIIMMEEEEEEE!! lol
Hey guys, sorry I haven't checked in, I've been sick. So needless to say I haven't been exercising much. I played volleyball for the first time in a few weeks last night and it totally kicked my butt!! I've still got a cough, so this sickness is still lingering in my lungs, ugh!!!
But I've been able to at least sort of stick with the calorie counting, and I'm down to 171.5 right now. I'm hoping to build the exercise back up this week and hopefully see the 160's again next week sometime!!!
Just think guys, with the weather getting warmer it's getting easier to get outside and be active!! I'm hoping it will re-energize my weight loss efforts! We can do this!
