I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

I am in the 130's club, but wanted to get into the 120's. ;)

I am 130 lbs on the nose! I wish to be 120 lbs so badly, but those "last ten pounds" are a real buggar! I am sixteen years old and 5"5. My doctor says that I'm perfect at 130 lbs. . . but I'd just love to trim up a lil bit and maybe go down a size in jeans? <3

So nice to know others feel the same way!

Hi!

I'd like to join.  I've been 130 all through high school and beginning part of college.  It didn't seem to matter how much i dieted or how much i exercised, I never lost weight.  On the other hand when I stopped dieting and exercising, I didn't gain any weight.  Im 5'4" and 23 years old. But, in one summer, i gained 10-14 lbs to an all time high of 144lbs.  Last year I lost about 17 pounds to an all time low of 127lbs in dec 2006.  But ever since then I've gained back 10 pounds to 138lbs.  Now I'm starting over and I've lost 2 so far.  I've wanted to be in the 120's all my life.  120 is my ultimate goal.
Here is the new chart.  If you want to be included, please post current and goal weight each Wednesday.

Well, I have finally gotten to a place where I am happy. I quit counting my calories a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still losing weight. I guess my body will find a weight it's happy with.

I just wanted to give everyone some motivation. It took me four months, but I've lost 31 lbs. (and counting). I look good and I feel fabulous!! I'm at 109 now, well within a healthy range. I couldn't be happier.

Thanks to everyone here for their support, especially Liz!!! I do have a current picture up on my profile if you're interested. I really don't have any before/after pictures, I'm sad to say. I tried to stay out of the eye of the camera while I was overweight. But I will do my best to try to find one!!

And thanks, again!
Reagan:  I am delighted for you.  What a wonderful achievement.  You are truly an inspiration to us all!  Good luck in all you do.  I'll forever admire  your unwaiving willpower.  Liz
Thanks, Liz! I'll probably be slipping for the next month or so. I just found out I have Lyme disease. That accounts for my lack of energy and less-than-stellar eating habits lately. And the meds are likely to make me gain a bit of weight.
Reagan:  Actually, I don't think it will be that bad.  I had Lyme disease.  You will be on antibiotics for a while but those don't contribute to weight gain.  Lack of energy, however, is a problem, but that should subside with the antibiotics.  I wish you well.

Hey everyone!

I just have a quick question for those of you in this club . . . how many calories a day do you eat based on your BMR and exercise?

See because a lot of posts out there say to eat a certain amount of calories but I'm just wondering if that changes at all when you are in the lower end such as 120/130?  My goal is 125-127

My stats are 5'6", F, 134lbs (and has been stuck there for MONTHS!!).  My BMR at Sedentary is 1700, I burn about 300-400 cals at the gym 4-6xs a week and I try to get up to 1400 cals a day.  Since I haven't lost a pound (well it goes up to 136 down to 132 and then anywhere inbetween), I'm just wondering if I should be eating more or less??

Any help would be great! Thx
lsilva--I have been around 135 for a loooong time now and was stuck! I have actually upped my calories (from 1200 to 1400) and I lost a pound last week. I think I wasn't eating enough. I have also been drinking more water and less soda and that may help, too.

I have an active lifestyle--I'm a teacher (always running around) and I work out 5-6 days a week. I'm thinking of lowering my carbs --not cutting them out, just trying to eat less carbs but still watch my calories. I'm hoping that will do something.

Are you working out hard at the gym, or just doing the movements? Don't forget that your body gets used to exercise, so try something new and work out hard. Also, using measurements really helps. I can fit into clothes I couldn't a month ago, but am only down about 2 lbs.

Good luck!

Thanks!! And to you, Liz!! :)
Girl 4 moon, I don't get how you can increase calories and lose weight unless you also increased your exercise. Are you sure you didn't increase activity because you had more energy? I've been doing this since December and there's no loss without calorie reduction/increase in exercise.
Weighed 122 today. It's a ****** miracle. I've lost about a half pound a week. I eat so little compared to what I did before. I'm learning to do with less. Less is looking like more. I had 2 cherries a grape and a pineapple chunk at a social event the other day. I can tell you that's a first.
I eat very very healthy food (usually get an "A") but I use sugarless gum between meals which sometimes makes me kind of sick. I can't wait till I have the willingness to get off it.
I love this site. Thanks to whomever runs it.
My "before' picture is up. I'm trying to get a picture taken of the new me so I can post it.
Glad I found this group! I'm 135-136, 5'6 and I wish to be from 125-130...depending on how I feel at either level. My original goal that CC gave me was 135...I feel way better than I did before, but I still could lose some weight on my stomach and thighs. I wear medium shirts and size 6 pants. I would like to maybe be able to get into 4s when my weight loss is over, and shirts maybe wearing a small would be nice! I really just want to tone up and lose the excess stomach, thigh fat and cellulite! I started from 155, so I'm really happy to have lost 20 pounds. I don't want to be stick thin, but if I lose just 10 pounds or so I think I would look even better! (Though I do not feel insecure now)

These last 10 pounds are going to be SO HARD TO LOSE for me! Hopefully I can do this by August or so....I plan to run a ton this summer :) Have a good day everyone!
lamoi--

I know it is wierd to up calories and lose weight--I was not a believer until I tried it. I was stuck at 135 for about a month--eating 1200 calories and exercising 5-6 days a week--but going nowhere!!

Then, I upped my calories (only by about 200) and I lost weight. I think it is just healthier for my body to eat 1400 calories--it's not holding onto the fat.

Read some of the posts on starvation mode. I was skeptical--until I got out of starvation mode.
lamoi: From what I understand is that the reason one is "stuck" at a certain weight is due to the brain's conservation of energy mode when not eating enough.  You can get yourself out of this mode by eating a little more to reset your thermostat.  Good proteins are the best way to do that.  I would just try it for a week (a day or 2 are not enough to achieve a result) and see what happens.  Just be carefult with the sugar/starch stuff when increasing your intake.  Good luck.  Let us all know how you are progressingl.  Liz
