| Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...
I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey. Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen.... Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide. Good morning and have a great day all! |

Hi everyone...snow day in Connecticut today. We have tons of sleet. I'm still in my jammies at 1:25 pm. Boys are glued to the video games. If it gets better out I am insisting that they go to the rink later to do something physical and get a skate in. They are total couch potatoes.
Trying to find the motivation to do anything besides sit at my desk or watch tv. Hey if anyone feels any better my valentine is sitting at the kitchen table working...completely ignoring me. I have a feeling it will be a really low key day today...so bah humbug for valentine's day. Though i did make heart shaped pancakes for the boys this morning. I'm giving out hershey kisses to them whenever they go out of their way and are nice today. ltlmsmfft...the devil wears prada used to be my life...i went to fashion school and worked at jcrew corporate in nyc for years before having kids and moving to CT. my boss was not quite as bad though. I do have a lot of great samples though. :) water water water...stay off the scale. It's ucky out...going to make a big pot of soup and have a nice loaf of bread (which i will try real hard to avoid). And a pan of heart shaped brownies....which i will also try to avoid. Laurie |

Snow day in Buffalo too! I had to dig myself out and get my daughter to work. I finally stopped being a sloth and got in the basement to work--and I did 30 cardio and 30 weights (minutes)! I have been tired lately, so I think I am going to be lazy and take a nap. It also keeps me out of the fridge! WTG unicat--I stayed at 154 today, so that's good! At least I'm not gaining! pooh-you are a stronger woman than I--I would bake the brownies for me and not share! lol! Dee |

| I'm at my desk, trying to stay away from the kid party food upstairs. Elementary kids and party day. Three weeks to my wedding, selling a house, teachng here--so could I get more stressed? I haven't slipped up badly yet, but I've only been able to lose about nine pounds this year. I guess I remember how it was when I was younger. Help - - | ||

| Well I was feeling pretty down about Valentines day until one of my coworkers called in and it kind of put things in perspective for me. He is a normally happy go luck guy but today his voice sounded unusually rough. He used to work here at the corporate office (hotel management co.) until something terrible happened in September. He is one of our regional operators and his life parter was our Director of Web and Marketing. Fortune was killed in a terrible one car accident on a Sat. night in September. It was very sudden and truly devestated the whole company. Rob was left to deal with the grief. They had been together for over 15 years. It made me realize that even though I don't have a sweetheart I have so much to be thankful for and so many people who I love in a different way (son, family, friends). Anyway just wanted to share. | ||

cecelia - 9 lbs in 6 weeks is actually pretty awesome :) boils down to like 1.5 lbs a week :) you are doing great.. :) how much are you trying to lose by your wedding?? what is your weight now?? and stay away from the party stuff lol.. i know its hard, but you can do it :) try not to stress out.. and if you are feeling stressed, go exercise, the endorphins will make you feel better.. :) ltlmsmfft - yeah it kinda puts it into perspective, eh? |

I'm writing in just to be accountable. I ate all day yesterday - horrible binge day. For the first time since coming to this site, my trend line went up. That hurt. I backtracked two pounds. Probably one of that is water. It's going to take a little while to get back to where I was, but I'm not giving up!
Valentine's Day willl not get me down!!! |

| It stopped snowing in time yesterday for me to make it to my sweetie's for Valentine's! I ate reasonably. One question: When logging in "Basmati Rice"- am I to assume that the ".25 cup" serving is raw or cooked? | ||
| #414 | Feb 15 2007 12:31 | |
| Oh and unicat - you can definitely size down rings. It's sizing them up that can sometimes pose a problem (been there). | ||

planner, I believe it's cooked--I log that way. .25 uncooked winds up to be .5 cooked--check it against brown rice--the cals should be close. I love chocolate, so I ate a bunch of it yesterday--no prob, im back on track today! I really don't get down when I goof off with food--maybe I should! I would drops some poundage lol! Happy valentines day all! Hope it was good! |

Goodmoring everyone!
unicat- What a great problem to have :) I bet it feels good to see something else is now loose. Maybe you could get a plain inexpensive band for your ring finger to wear until you reach your goal weight...... You may need that to keep the guys away who are smitten with your new figure :) planner2582- I'm glad you got to see your sweetie for Valenties day. It's nice to be with our loved ones. Mrswuktisch- Don't be too hard on yourself! Just get back on track today and that weight will come back off. djrizzo- I too had a bit of chocolate late last night.....after some Valentines day wine. I broke my no alchohol in Feb challenge but I'm back on trach today. I took my sweetie ( 4 yr old son Justice) to subway for dinner last night. I had a great turkey sandwich with this realllllly yummy fat free honey mustard sauce. Here's a subway tip if you order a deli sanwich instead of the 6 inch sub it's 1 gram of fat less and fewer calories. |

I just recently hit the 150's and I am sooooooo frustrated!!! even though it was slow at times, the 170's, 160's passed so much more quickly. it has been three weeks and the scale hasn't moved and neither have my inches.....every morning it just says 157, 157, 157, mocking me......can anybody lend me a four, even if it had a nine after it, like 149, it would be greatly appreciated. Hell at this point I would take a 154.
Has anybody else faced the 150's beast? |

| swearimn - the 150's beast has been on my back too! I think it's harder to lose the closer you get to your goal. Good luck and hang in there! | ||

swearimn- i was stuck at 157/158 for about two weeks. I ended up giving myself a cheat weekend out of frustration. I went up to 160 but also immedatly dropped to 157 by the next week i am now 154. I guess I accidently did a version of the zig-zig that people talk about... who knows. Then again my body does trend to adjust to new things quickly, so maybe I just needed to throw it back of balance. But yes i did face it. Good luck and just keep on going it'll happen. If not you may want to look at the posts out there (somewhere) about platues....i'm not sure about that whole thing. But anyway good luck! |

| swearimn- i too am facing the 150's beast. i started at 168 and it seemed like i flew threw that group. i feel like i've been here forever! one suggetstion- totally switch up your exercise routine. either take new classes at the gym or get new workout dvd's. sometimes you hit a plateu because your muscles are used to the same workout routine. if you swithch things up it may make a big difference! | ||
