 :D :D :D :D

I'm so happy that there are so many responses to this question. And im even happier that people are so honest and open as to why they chose to well... take the journey. Whether your trying to just be healthier, or fit into your bathing suits, im loving the fact that i got the answers i did.

To answer my own questions;

I am 19 turning 20 soon.

What motivates me to loose the weight, I'm not gonna lie is the desire to fit into a bathing suit, and walk down a beach without feeling self conscious. But I'm mostly doing this because ive heard the words " and she was with this really fat girl." that was my breaking point. yep. that was it. never in my life have i been the "really fat girl. I was always the chubby girl. or the fat girl. but NEVER have i been called "the really fat girl".

Ive lost 20-22 pounds depending on the day, I started in january at 181 pounds and depending on the day lately im 159-161 ive been that way for a little over a month ( only myself to blame)

I've been on the site since january 29th. i started with someone, and theyve lost pretty much the same amount as me.

AND TO BE HONEST I DONT CARE WHO COMES HERE!!! lol I WAS LOOKING FOR A CENTER OF YOUNGER PEOPLE.

and like i said ... i think its amazing the amount of people who responded to this.

I'm happy there are people my age who have some type of weight loss goals besides me.

and now, FOR MORE QUESTIONS!

:)

Does anyone have a cheat day? do you feel guilty afterward?

I'm having a hard time with mine, its on sundays, i eat so much i get sick, and also gain the weight back ive lost through the week, which is usually like a pound.... So when i gain that poind back i feel bad.... i was so proud of that measley little pound!!!

Which leads me to my next question.

Has anyone here resolved to limit an exercize regimine untill they've lost more weight?

I walk to and from work ( not too far) i clean my house, take the sairs at work, and i stand at work all day so its not like im sedentary but im wondering if i should do cardio and stuff besides that to burn cals..... anyone?

Peace,Love, and happiness,

sweetness.

From what I've read about you all,

a lot of you seem to be on the right track.

But there's a few of you that just cant seem to stop.

I know I'm not perfect

but I'm going to be honest.

There are those of you who are dropping WAY below an appropriate weight for your age, and probably your height as well.

The goal is to be healthy, not model skinny.

The point is to be at a point where you are fit,

no the point where you can fit into a size zero, because to be really honest,

its unhealthy, and unrealistic.

Its a fact.

the two most bought sizes in jeans in this country are 0, 12, and 16.

what does this say?

its a fact.

The desire to look like models have driven CHILDREN under the age of 10 to diet under no duress. This is unnacceptable because their bodies havent even finished GROWING yet. People under the age of 21 should not try to be under their BMI reccomended weight because of dangers of malnutrition, which decreases potential of body development and growth.

I appreciate honesty. And i maintain that I am not judging any of you, because it is SO easy to control weight, and become obsessed with it. I'm just saying its necessary to be carefull. I understand if you are naturally at a body weight that is low, that is through no fault of your own.

If you dont believe me, read up on it. READ , learn what being too skinny can do to you.

Hey!  I'm 21.

I just joined the site.  I changed my life 2 weeks ago and I've lost.. well the scale is not accurate but about 5 lbs.

I'm motivated by facebook photos.  And creating a better future for myself.  I just started to accept that I'd always be fat.  And I don't have to be.  I really feel that this is long-term baby.

lol that was me, i looked really fat in one of my facebook photos, and then after being out one day and someone said " I saw my aunt when i was driving on the highway today and she was with this really fat girl. ( i was that really fat girl.) So i looked for a... well... i dont know what i was looking for, but i found this. on the sight since the 29th of january 21 pounds later.

I'm 20!

* what motivates you to loose the weight ?

I've always been on the line between overweight/normal, and since I wasn't necessarily heavy, I never had the motivation to maintain a smaller weight.  I've got a really skinny boyfriend though and it became a challenge for me to weigh less than him.  Now it's just so rewarding to love the way I look and love the way I feel because I'm living a healthy life style.  I could barely do a mile in junior high and just yesterday I completed a 5k with an average of a 12 minute mile.  That was HUGE for me!

* have you lost any yet?

My heaviest was 160, but I averaged about 150 throughout high school and most of college.  Currently I'm at 135 (only 5 lbs to go!), so I've lost about 15.

* how long have you been on the site?

I found this site looking for nutritional information mid-April.  So I've been on the site about one to two months.

hey im im 18 turning 19 next week...

ive lost 35 pounds at my heaviest after leaving high school and ive been on for about a year! im now in my second year at college and two dress sizes smaller!

ive gone from 172 to 136 (im 5 '3) so ive still got a long way to go!

being the fat girl at college SUCKS i dont care what anyone says! i was made fun of but mostly just ignored. boys didnt look twice at me and made me feel worthless. girls made me feel ashamed to be confident and want to have fun. thats what GOT me motivated....

what KEEPS me motivated: walking into dining hall in a figure hugging outfit (i now have a waist and a sweet pair of tanned legs) and watching heads turn.

boys who rejected you being told by thier friends 'god shes looking good' and that you 'got hot'

knowing im just going to get better- theyve seen nothing yet...

Hi I am 18 years old 5'5" 195 lbs and sick of being fat. I have dealt with my weight since a was a child about 9 or 10 I would say. About a year ago I used to about 165-170 then summer and college rolled around..... Now I am looking to change my life and become healthier and support a healthy lifestyle. Any support from anyone is great but its good to know there are people around my age on this website! I have just started and I joined last week. My motivation is that I keep hearing little side jokes from friends and I want all that to stop. I want to lose enough weight that by the time college comes back around they will think twice about making that sly remarkLaughing. Another huge motivator is that I want to shock everyone of my family members when I see them again hopefully next summer!

I exist! I'm 21.

what motivates you to lose the weight ? -I am entering my 3rd year of grad school. I will graduate as a pharmacist. I feel like in the medical profession, if I am not healthy, people will not listen to me. So I'd like to be healthy. And I'd like to look good, to be honest. I mean, i'm 21.... I don't wanna waste my young years being overweight.

have you lost any yet? -yeah. not a substantial amount, but progress has been made since I started college 4 years ago. Of course, many ups and downs.... related to stress and school and family illness, but tis life... I know I can do this for real.

how long have you been on the site? -I have no idea! I mean, it'll say member since on my profile, right? But I don't know for real, because I haven't used it that whole time. I might've stumbled upon it then and never used it, depending on how old it is. But I believe this is one of the sites I've used fairly regularly since I found it. I love the forums, and I may not participate in a lot of things, but I read a lot of things.

I'm 5'3" (and a halffff) and I weigh about 185. I would like to lose at least fifty pounds, if not more. :)

* what motivates you to loose the weight ?  Im jus sick of being fat =( .. I got pregnant when I was 18, and had my gorgeous little boy when I was 19.. I was 200 lbs the day I went into labour.. By the next day, after giving birth, I was 180 lbs.. yes.. I lost 20 lbs over night.. But that was cuz it was the baby, water, etc etc.. Anyway.. So I was 180lbs the day I came home.. with in a couple weeks, the lbs were droppin off fairly quickly, 180, 178, 175, 172, 170, 168, down to 160... and I have been stuck there ever since.. I also just recently got pregnant again, I got my positive on March 27th, although I was completely heartbroken when I lost the baby at 10 weeks on May 8th =( .. Ive been moping around, completely heartbroken and depressed ever since.. Its been just over 1 month.. I want to try to conceive again, but Id really like to get some more pounds off, get active and eat better...

I'm here! I'm a 20 year old girl, 5' 6.5". Well, I'm Australian and I live in Paris,, so I say I'm 169 cm. I'm 67 kg or 148 pounds, which is a healthy weight for my height! But I want to be 64, or 141 pounds. This goal is much higher than those of people my height, but I want to be muscular, not thin. I am a black belt in tae kwon do.

But I haven't always been a healthy weight - I come here from a high weight of 78 kg, or 172. So I have lost 24 pounds so far, which took me about 4 months.

What motivates me? Well first I wanted to be healthy. Secondly I love clothes and shopping and if you're a bigger girl it can be such a sad experience. I didn't want that anymore. Plus at my very highest I was starting to go above normal sizing and I got freaked out and put on the breaks!

Plus, I got sick of having every enjoyable experience with food marred by the fact that I was overweight. I couldn't enjoy a chocolate bar because it was an immediate reminder of how I had failed myself. Now when I have my treats I know I don't have to feel bad because I am a healthy person!

im 20...counting down the days to 21!!

Motivation: My boyfriend is a great motivator for me...when i tell him that i cant do something he always reassures me that I can and he knows how hard I am working. Working out at least 6 days and week eating healthy and all, he is just so great. My other accomplishments in life is something else that motivates me. I am doing really well in college right now, doing many things I thought i could never do but i did them. so i thought why not weight loss?! I know this is probably going to be one of the biggest challenges in my life, but I just tell myself to be strong and stick through it. Hopefully by the time I graduate college in two years, I would like to be at least 50 lbs lighter...and look damn good in that cap and gown =)

Loss?: I have lost 6 lbs since ive joined this site May 19. I would like to lose at least 20 lbs by the time I get back to school in August. I would be so proud of myself!

How Long on CC?: I have been apart of CC for about almost a month now, I joined last summer as well lost some weight but fell of the bandwagon once i got back to school but this time i plan on stickin with it!

im 19! and ive lost 3 lbs in a week!

Oh, I've definitely have to jump on board here, if only because of the excellent girl:guy ratio ;)

Well, I'm 21 now, and weigh 280 lbs, but I play football (American) at college and so I'm pretty fit. I'm not really trying to lose weight now, but this is my last season, and so after that I'll worry more about losing. But for now, I just try to eat healthy, stay in shape and get stronger for next season.

Oh, and I've been here about a year, and I really like giving advice on fitness and weight lifting especially, along with explaining the science behind how your body works, cause I think it's pretty awesome, and I'm a nerd like that :P
hey, i'm 21 too :-)

I want to lose weight so that I can enjoy the rest of my 20's (as well as 30's 40's 50's ect) to the fullest. I knew that if I didn't start now, the difficulty of getting in shape would continue to increase.

I started out at 160lbs (my height is 5'4.5''). So far I have lost 4 lbs.

I've been on this site for about 2 years, but it's only been 1 month since I've started a good exercise/eating program and stuck to it.
Man, I'm 20.

My motivation is the reminiscing of my horrible insulting past. I said to myself that I wanted to be fit by the time I turn 21 (Sept) and now I am. AWESOME!  Doesnt mean Im gonna stop, you know?

Uh...I went from 240 to 148 right now. I got pictures in my profile to prove it.

Since Sept '07
