I think that us moms who breastfeed just cannot compare ourselves to everyone else - except myabe those that are pregnant!
i try to focus on others and there calories and goals but mine just dont compare-- therefor i think we need our own weigh in group!!
im a mom to a 2 yr old and a five month old
i am 5'4 - 24 years old
starting weight-185 back from january
current -161.4
goal -135
i weigh in on tuesdays- but heck as long as we post are weights on whichever day we can support one another!
i think this will be fun- we can compare our excerise rather then to peep who workout vigorously since we have to keep our milk supply too!
What's your stats??
What are your summer plans? Any vacations? We're not planning on taking a long one but maybe some day trips. Gas prices for our SUV is just too much to head to the beach 5 hrs away unfortunately!
Hey everyone! How are you doing on your weight losses? I just found a really low calorie breakfast that is filling and delicous! Its McCanns Instant Oatmeal Irish, Cinnamon Roll flavor.. 100 calories 2 fat 0 sugar 3 dietary fiber and other good stuff!
stephtobea9 i dont really have any vacations coming up... i live in the middle of no where on a ranch and we have horses and cows etc. so its hard to leave them for long periods... but we do have a couple lakes and stuff to camp and go fishing at :) i cant wait till it gets warm enough to go!
good luck everyone!!! :)
I'm so glad to have found this group! I'm one month postpartum and a breastfeeding mom. Well actually at the moment I'm a breastpumping mom. My son is in NICU as he was born early. Breast feeding was hard (emotionally) for me with my daughter so I gave up early. Seven years later I'm trying it again. I know I will be successful this time.
I'm back on CC after nearly a year and hoping to finally reach my goal weight.
My stats
28 yrs old, 5'4"
start weight: 160
goal weight: 135
I'm concerned about the whole losing weight while breastfeeding thing. I've heard you are not supposed to diet. Is that true? I noticed a lot of you said that you lost weight simply by counting calories. What's the average intake for a breastfeeding mom? I'm guessing 1800-2000. When I was pregnant I simply ate when I was hungry.
I'm still trying to get used to the idea that I'm not pregnant anymore. I'm still eating like I'm 7 months pregnant. Even when I'm not hungry! So that will be a challenge.
I look forward to checking in with you.
Hello. My name is Stephanie and am the mother to my beautiful 9 week old. I am breastfeeding exclusively and plan to til she is 6 months to a year. I absolutely love it.
My stats:
Pre-pregnancy weight: 176
Start Weight: 230 pounds
Current weight: 192 pounds
Goal weight: 140 pounds
I weigh myself every two weeks.
i usually average 5 lbs a month but not this last month - not at all- but hey i lost some so yeah!!
i think im goin to vaca to my parents house here soon- im missing my family again so im pretty anxious to get up there again! I know fuel is alot but i need them alot!
Hi, it's great to see so many other breastfeeding mums out there. It really adds another dimension to trying to lose the pregnancy weight.
I'm another Steph, 24 and Australian so I'm going to have to convert all my measurements into lbs for everyone. I'm still breastfeeding my only child, a beautiful 9mo named Ava and I also go to university part time. I'm 5'7" and before I was pregnant I weighed 163lbs and I'd lost over 60lbs to get down to that and felt wonderful. Well one pregnancy later and I was up to 238.
I got down to 205 with no effort but that's stopped and now I'm trying to get serious so I joined CC.
I'm now 195
Goal - 158 (hopefully by Christmas - since as Australian summer it means lots of swimming, bbq's and parties)
I'm eating around the 1500 calorie mark.
And I just have to add eww! Those numbers look really big when compared to metric.
hi there, it's great to see there is support for us breastfeeding moms...thank you all for sharing your experiences!
i'm exclusively breasfeeding my almost 3 mo. old baby girl and planning to breastfeed 'til she is 6-12 months. i was so in shock this morning after seing my weight went UP by 8 lb since my 6 wk postpartum checkup, anyone has experienced this?
my stats:
I'm 5'5"
pre-pregnancy weight: 152 lb
weight at week 39th :185 lb
weight at 6 weeks port-partum: 162 lb
current weight: 170 lb
GOAL : 135 lb (this was my weight before my two beautiful children)
also after putting all my info i get the 1650 cal. isn't that to low? i don't eat a lot, i do eat healthy, and avoid fast foods, bad carbs, etc, etc. i also started walking 45-60 min. at least 3/week just las week. i'm also noticing i'm getting hungrier lately...any ideas on healthy snacks?and how to maintain my milk supply for my little chubby baby? (she weighted 14+ lb. at her 2 mo. check up!) appreciate all your feedbacks. good luck to you all loosing it!
Hey all! My husband is very into this site and so I thought I would join you all! I am EBFing my almost four month old (she was born 2-17-08). And I have a two year old red headed firecracker.
Pre-preg weight: 164
preg. weight: 190
current weight: 151 this morning!
goal weight: 135 (I am 5'6)
I am trying to stay around 1700 a day. Otherwise I get grumpy. Has anyone else had dizzy spells at all? I drink a lot of water but it seems like lately when I get out of the car or even just turn suddenly I will get dizzy and have to re-focus.
Cant wait to get to know you all!
Sarah
Hi there,
I'm doing good job counting and doing cardio for 30 min. a day!
I'm down to 172 lbs. It feels sooo good.
Yay mommy2lily 12 pounds since may 5th!! Good Job!!
Im down to 124! Only 4 more pounds to go!!! :)
We had a big cookout with just everything to eat and I did a lot of it, lol. But I knew I was going to beforehand and I've added swimming 4-5 days/wk and I think it's going to pay off!
I toyed with the idea of drinking a small amount of a hard lemonade yesterday as others were but then decided not to for my little Anna's sake. I was afraid even a small amount might affect her somehow so I didn't. I guzzled lots of water though! It was a hot day! :)
I'm down about 6 lbs this week and hope to continue the trend of at least 1-2 lbs/wk loss until I hit my goal of 140. We'll see from there. That's about 85 lbs to go for me. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work!
Hello I am a SAHM of two DD 5 and 8 mn. I love BFing, but I have gained 15 lb since birth yes I now have gain as much as I did pregnant. I worked so hard not to gain much in hope it would come off fast and all I have done is keep it on and gained more. Here are my stats:
I am 34 5'5"
Pre preg 170, delivery weight 188
3 week pp 172, now 199
goal 145
Bfing goal a year to 2 years (we really love it, weight only down side to it)
I have a major question have you found that you lose more weight after the return of your period? I was wonder if that had to do with the BFing myth of lossing weight, or even gaining weight. Here I am at 8 mn and still no return.
I am excited to share with others going through this race together
i am super happy for all of u out there losing- awesome job everyone!!
ok so today was a good day- i weighed in at 158.4- im sticking w/1750-1800 cals still and tryin to incorporate some more working out. i try to throw in some taebo still and typically 25-30 min, by then my lil man starts crying for attention. it gets so hard trying to workout in a camper with a 2 yr old and a 6 month old trying to behave and or be good for 30 min. I wish i could do more but i honestly dont have the time bc my kids just wont let me. i am too hungry to not eat that many cals though.
im maybe goin to get a saucer i can put him in this weekend and maybe he will do good in that as for my girl she picks up her weight and will attempt to do some stuff with me- lol
oh u got to love em
sry for any depress talk i just get irritated when nothin happens as im sure u all do too! but im back in the action again!
just joing i just had my beautiful baby 8 weeks ago
goal:120
ppw:133
current:135
ive lost alot of the weight but i still have a belly that i would like to get rid of!. I was 170.5 the day i delivered so thankfully i lost quite a bit of weight already:)
Im just eating whatever i feel like for now...its alot less than when i was pregnant i dont want to get to obssesive because i am breastfeeding. Just no junk food! I also go for daily walks.
I feel you shauna_182 every time i try to exercise the little one starts to fuss. It's like she has an internal timer that goes over whenever i try to eat, exercise, or have a little alone time with my husband
. Thank goodness we just renewed our contract with comcast and got a free dvr. Now if she wakes up during one of my workout shows on fittv i can just pause it and start it up whenever i get a chance. If i do 10 minutes of cardio 6 times over the day, does it count or is it just a waste of time i could be doing laundry.
I joined cc this week and it's already helped me drop 5lbs to 155, was stuck at 160 for a month before that. I'm bfing a 2mos old girl and am trying to figure out how many calories works for me and my milk supply. 1500 i dont lose weight, 1200 i dont make enough milk. I've had 3 children in the past 5 years and I feel like my life and body have been on hold ever since. I just want to get back to normal, to my own body.
Wow sinead you lost weight fast!! Only a few more pounds to go! You can do it! Im trying for 120 also :) If I make it to that Ill probly try for 115.. but thats the lowest Ill go :) good luck!
Yeah shauna and mamatanya I also cant do anything without my baby wanting to be held.. hes also starting to get that seperation anxiety thing I think. Ive been trying to do exercises where I have the baby with me like rollerblade or jog with the jogging stroller and ride my bike with his lil baby seat. He loves the outdoors! :)
Good luck all !
mamatanya
u know i often wonder the same about the exersize bc u need to do 5 min of warm up then 5 to get your heart goin then basically throw in an additional 20 to get your 30 min workout---- but if i have to restart and restart im constantly doin warm up and stretching- ugh i just dont know!!
i just took a week off an visited my parents for my dads bday along w/ my 5 yr old nieces' bday too so i had cake and ice cream and a week of bad choices- ugh back to restart
i lost the first 25 easy but i am still around 160 and jd is turning 7 months and im not sure how these calculators consider the nursing but dang what a rough time trying to get past these next 25- im not sure how to eat-- they say u burn more past the 6 month mark but idk -- back to workouts !!!
hello mommies,
just posting my results ! I'm down to 167.5 lbs
Not so bad, huh??????
Keep on moving guys.. kisses
I wanna join!!! :)
My name's Amanda, I'm the mother of 2. I have a 5 year old son with aspergers syndrome and a 9 week old little girl who is VERY VERY fond of her boob. ;)
Height: 5'8"
Pre-pregnancy weight - 151 (but I am most comfortable at 140)
Weight at delivery - 198
2 week postpartum weight - 185
Current weight - 180
Goal weight - 140
I was only maintaining my weight at 185 for the first 2 months eating 2300-2500 calories / day, so I joined the site 9 days ago and cut my cals and I've already lost 4 pounds in that time. So YEA!! :) Here's my program:
1700 cals/day for 3 days, 1900-2200 cal maintenance day and then I start again!
Exercise - Swimming laps in our pool when she "permits me" ;)
Sleeping - 6 broken hours a day.
I'll weigh in every Monday (unless you all have decided on a specific day?)
Nice to meet you ladies! Good luck to all and best wishes!!
How do I watch what I eat but still eat what I like?
