so i'm 23 and my cw is 257 and i'd like to lose 100+ lbs, would anyone like to go on this journey with me?  we could weigh in weekly and like keep each other in line?

I had a bad weekend too, but now I have a stomach bug and can barely eat anything, so I guess this makes up for it. I wanted to so badly to go to the store and buy healthy food but now the thought of it makes nauseous. I was trying to get in at the Dr's since this has been going on since Sunday, but no dice. I was hoping to get weighed there and ask a few diet questions even if they couldn't give me medicine!


So far today, half a roll of snack crackers and a low cal yogurt. :(

I"m not sure how this happened for I didn't go over my calories and I have been sticking to my exercise plan. Maybe its just water weight or my body is use to my exercise plan and it is ineffective now.
I'll beat it and shed it off!......lol

Could be water weight.. I never really could wrap my brain around that, like how are you supposed to tell when you're carrying water weight and when you're not?!

If it is water weight, could go sauna it off? Does that even work?! lol I don't seem to be helping here, but if any of you ladies know more about this I'd love to hear about it.

On a side note, I hate saunas, and heat in general.. it makes me angry somehow!

I'm up 1.5 pounds from yesterday which I'm pretty sure is water weight, too.  It's getting close to my special woman time, I went out for dinner last night and had a cocktail.  Also, everything tasted so salty to me!  That combination = more poundage that I do not own up to.  So I'm making sure to drink even more water than usual (120 oz), try to work up a good sweat, and just relax about it!!


Ditto about the saunas and heat.  I only like to sweat when I'm making it happen- not just sitting around.  Gross!

Thanks ladies...I really think this scale is broken! I use the same scale to weight myself everyday at the same time and today it says I"m up 10 pounds. Man, something just is not making any sense to me.

My body loves to gain water weight and that is why I take water pills to help with that. I also sweat a lot when working out, so maybe tonight I'm going to do a more extensive workout.

Last nigth my bf took me out to dinner and I know I didn't eat healthy, but I ate small amounts and took the rest for lunch today. Maybe I consumed a lot of sodium yesterday and my body just needs to flush it out yet. Also I should stop weighting myself everyday.

My other thought was that maybe my body is use to my workout routine so it is becoming ineffective. I'm going to try switching it up a bit.

Very interesting quizzage for the water needs!  It says that I need 3.6 litres!!! Outrageous! *chugs a jug of water* I've got a long way to go haha

So, if you drink the amount that you need every day, does that eliminate excess water weight when you weigh in every week/day/hour?  *lol* I'm not obsessed at all..

Hmm up 10 pounds in a day doesn't sound right at all.  Maybe you got some extra weight from muscle gained?

On the subject of scales.. is it a mechanical you use? Cause that's what I have too, and I always always have to go three times and get an average, it's not entirely trustworthy! I'm thinking of buying a digi scale lately.. anyone else having this problem?

I had a horrible weekend. I got a stomach bug and I haven't hardly eaten or anything since Saturday. So, maybe it'll help me lose weight! ha :) Seriously though, I dont think Chicken noodle soup is that great for ya but it seems to be the only thing I can hold down. --

I know ya'll are weighing in each week and that is great. But I'm going to wait until I go back to Dr's before I know what I've lost. I'm sure it'll show in my clothes but the #'s will just make me mad that its not going down faster. I know silly but its true. I think knowing the # makes me feel like a big fat loser. SO, if I dont know what I weigh then I'll at least feel semi-good about myself!

I was wondering, inside do any of  ya'll feel like your fat? Or are you kinda like me, a Thin girl trapped in a fat girls body???? :) Just Curious!

I use the scale that we have at work for our program. I'm not sure the name for it but it's just like the ones that they use at the doctors office. Either way I think it's evil! lol Smile I knew it was being way to good to me last week. The unfortunate thing is that my office is right across from where it is located so when I sit at my desk I can constantly see it.

I'm totally the same! Thin girl that somehow got stuck in this fat body. It was only fairly recently that I realised that I really needed to lose a lot of weight.. I think a big part of it was seeing pictures of myself which I wouldn't normally do. And of course the soaring dress size! I felt like things weren't so bad until I got to (UK) dress size 22, because before that I could still mostly shop in my favourite places.. dorothy perkins, new look, etc.. but now they are completely out of the question up at size 26, and almost toppling over to size 28 - which I'm hoping I can avoid, and start working my way back down!

I'm looking forward to getting back into all those clothes that I hoarded as I got bigger because I love them so..  Do you ladies have a store of clothes you're waiting to get back into too? Anything in particular?

Mine would be my long green/brown cord skirt and my commando girl tshirt, both are a size 16, and I can't wait to get back into them!!

lol @ being able to see the scale all the time, what a torment! I'm always getting on mine hoping that somehow since I got up I'll have lost an extra pound! haha..

OH and I just bought a digi scale from argos woo! It will be here on friday! Super excited =D weee..!

The good thing about seeing the scale is that it makes you think twice about eating something bad...lol..on the other hand, if I go for a walk at lunch, I always have to re-weight myself thinking that during that walk I lost some pounds...lol. It's weird how that scale trickes the mind!

I feel like a thin girl trapped in a fat body too! Especially when I am clothes shopping. Why do they always make the cute clothes in the smaller sizes?! I mean come on, us bigger ladies like to look cute too and not all men like skin and bones. How are we suppose to attract the guys when clothing lines don't make cute clothes for larger ladies?! This just frustrates me to no end!
Sometimes I forget that I am large when I am playing around with my bf. I will run and jump on him like I am light as a feather!...lol..He is on the "fluffy" side too so it doesn't hurt him.

Completely agree on the clothes thing, the plus size stores just aren't the same! I've often found myself trying on clothes that looked like they would fit me easily.. only to find that theyre miles too small - talk about distorted body image!

ok, maybe you'll still let me on board.  I just turned 30.  I'm 5'5 and my CW is 237.  I would like to get to 150 by April 2009.  I consume about 1400 cal a day.  CC says I should eat around 1750.  I haven't got even close to that number yet.  I just started this last week and I'm looking foward to this. 

 

I work out 6 days a week, at least 3 days cardio and 3 days weight-training.  I'm trying to get to where I can run the whole time on the treadmill, but I know I can't do it right now.

Yeah I dont go by what CC says I should do either. I am however, listening to what my Dr says I should do. Well for the most part.

Everyone is welcome here, it's just when I originally posted the thread I didn't know what types of replies I would receive (if any) so I tried to narrow it down.  I can't tell you how excited and relieved I was when Melissa joined me!  Yeah, the stomach bug thing is DEFINITELY going around, I had it about a week ago, not fun, but great for the diet!  Jellybeano 3 liters sounds like a lot but if you break it down it's really manageable.  1 liter is 33.5 oz. and a large cup from mcdonalds is 32 oz. so over the course of a day you could easily drink 3.5 large mcdonalds cups full of water, it's great for weight loss and overall health.  So if ya'll don't mind, for everyone that doesn't have it in their screen name, what are your real names?  I'm Courtney...
