Hi can I join?  I'm new to CC and would really benefit from having others that can related to me.

I'm 37 - 3 kids (6, 4 and 2) and am 5'1" and 109 lbs.  My goal is to be 104 lbs.  I'd really like to loose 5 lbs and tone everything.  I am not big by any means unless you look at my middle where I store all my fat on my gut and thighs.  Plus having kids didn't help.  I have lots of loose skin that I probably will need to get removed.  But having kids has left my abs and lower back in horrible shape.  So I am trying to work on that now.  I exercise 5 days/week doing cardio and weight lifting.  I am not muscular at all and have no strength.  So my workouts are really focused on getting me stronger and in better shape.

Thanks!

Sign me up for support from fellow short people.  OK, those of you over 5'2" can claim "petite".  Those under are just short.  I'm 4'9" and down to 98.2 (as of this morning).  I was at 108 in January.  My problem is that all my weight is in my stomach.  My waist is down to 27", but stays there.  It is bad since I also have high cholesterol, a plate in my back (car accident), had over 31% body fat, and am 34 years old.  I'm now 27% body fat, but would like to reduce this number to at least 25.

I've never lost weight before, this site has helped tremendously.  The simple math of calories in must be less and exercise must increase has been what has worked for me.

Yes Welcome jeannierom828, and lorawilson1! Laughing

Congrats Jeannierom828 on your new low-weight.  We little people have to work EXTRA to lose weight, so here in CC is where we can all share our glories and pains.  :-)

We have a weekly weigh-in post on fridays.  Some of us -older little people (over 45, under 5')- suffer the woes of dealing with menopausal hormonal symptoms that make it even more difficult (but certainly not impossible) to lose weight.  We just have to be a tad-more patient.  ;)

I look forward to being inspired by your accomplishments!   Happy Thursday!

Friday 27th June

Apart from the pain that I still have in my hips, I'm feeling pretty good today.  As I'm still not mended I haven't been to the gym all week but my weight has finally entered a new number!  Woo hoo!

Start weight: 126 lbs

Goal weight: 104 ish

Current weight: 122.2 lbs.

I've been stuck at 123.something for soooo long I thought I was going to stay there forever.

Confessions: lots of cake and wine and curries and beer - oh dear!  I need to get mended and get back to the gym because if I'm not there I seem to fall off the wagon big time.

Glories: NONE!  But I still lost weight!

Oh, and I measured myself today as well and although my tummy hasn't gone down since I started dieting, my hips have lost 2 inches, I've lost 1 inch on my upper thigh and 1.5 inches on my chest.  Woo hoo hoo hoo hoo!

Can another newbie join this group?  I just started my calorie counting on Monday. 4 days into it and I'm feeling good that I've been able to keep my calories  below 1300 everyday.  Last night I had to eat a fiber bar because I was under 1000.  (BTW--Fiber One bars are tasty.  9 grams of fiber.  Probably too much sugar, but I figure it's better for me to eat 140 calories of fiber and sugar than 140 calories of sugar.)   I'm happy to find a group that understands the extra difficulty we short statured people face in losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight.

Mid 40's

About me:  4'10"

Start weight:  158 (YIKES!!!!!Even more than I weighed when pregnant 15 years ago)

Current weight:  156.5

Goal weight:  According to this website it should be 107.  I would be thrilled to get it to about 115 or even under 120.

Friday 6/27/08 WI:

Starting weight: 131 lbs Current weight: 126.6 lbs Goal weight: 112 lbs

Glories: I have a new WI#!!! :-)  slowly but surely...

Confession:  behaved this week and got results!  I did overdo it with exercise and paid the price.  Took a spinning class and did weights the same day - dont do it!!!  I could hardly walk!  leg muscles feeling better and will try again tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to CC - I joined on June 26th. I hope you'll let me join in your group. I don't have much to loses, but 8 pounds is a lot on a little frame. I am 5' - 1/2" (I say I'm 5'1 with shoes) and currently weigh 113. I guess I'd like to be 106 lbs., but I don't really care what the scale says. I'd simply like my pants  and tops to fit better.

I have been tracking my calories for the past couple days and I am so shocked by how quickly they add up. I am happy to report that I have lost 1 lb. since tracking. It forces me to look at the portions and eat 1 serving (not several, but just putting things on a plate).

For the most part, I eat a healthy, well balanced diet, but I like almost everyone else, I could make some better choices. I could also simply eat smaller portions.

My trouble spots: tummy fat, back fat and bigger upper arms, coupled with poor muscle tone. I am also big chested, which makes me look bigger than I really am.

I was very sick with both of my kids' pregnancies (I had Hyperemesis). That's a big fancy word for uncontrollable vomitting. I was on IV's and TPN for the first 6 months and could not even hold down water. I didn't have much muscle tone to begin with, but what I had is gone. I am currently taking 2 YMCA classes. One is a 1/2 hour body toning immediately followed by a 1 hour aerobics class - they meet 2x a week. My kids are now 5 and 6 and since they are no longer babies, I feel I can take some time for myself.

I have noticed more strength and some building of muscle, but I have a long way to go.

Thanks for listening to me ramble! I look forward to hearing for you!

Sue

Hi there Sue,

Welcome to our group.  Weigh-ins are on Friday and it would be great if you could log your weight with us.  Ritzigirl and I are good at checking in and it would be great for someone else to join us although it's not at all compulsory. (Just a gentle prod to others in the group ;) )

Anyway, good luck, keep it up and I'm sure you'll do well.

Ritzigirl: Well done on getting it back down.  You see?  The 129 was just a wee blip! :)

Hey there little_jaymo!  Thank you so much for the kudos! yehhh!  :-)

Welcome Sue!

Friday 4th July.

Current weight: 122.6 lbs - it's been 122.2 all week but I had a little jump today probably just because I'm recording it!

Glories:  Absolutely none.

Confessions:  Chocolate, wine, chinese takeaway food, loads of cheese, no gym.

The good news is that I have now been given the all clear by my osteopath so I'm going to go back to the gym next week.  It's odd but I can't seem to do the whole dieting thing without doing the physical activity.  It really is a "body and mind" thing, which is a little worrying as it means that I'll have to go to the gym for the rest of my life if I want to maintain a good weight.  Maybe it's just because I've been feeling down that I've fallen off the wagon so much.  Anyway, next week I'm aiming for lots of glories and no confessions - watch this space!

O.K. It's Friday, 4th of July and here's my weigh-in:

  1. Starting: 114 lbs.
  2. Goal: 106 ish.
  3. Current: 112 lbs.

I was at 111 yesterday morning, but we attended a party last night and watched the fireworks. I didn't eat as well as I could have, but I maintained control. I stuck to the chips and salsa, opposed to the cream-based dips. I am sure it is the 1.5 bottles of Mike's hard cranberry that put me over the edge (lol). I don't ususally drink much, but I understand the alcohol adds on the calories.

I've stuck to my work out classes and also got on the treadmill one extra time this week. I have also been very good at sticking to my calorie requirements or a bit under.

Happy Indepence day everyone!

Friday 7/4/08 WI:

Starting weight: 131 lbs  Current weight: 127.6 lbs  (+1 from last wk)
Goal weight:      11 2 lbs

Glories: None this week - still hurting from last week's spinning class.

Confession:  girly time hitting me out of wack! had donuts, pizza, and chocolates :(

I didnt go to the gym this week, but did some gazelle time at home.  I will aim for 2 gym classes this coming week, maybe not the spinning class, just cardio and weights.  I'll start slowly again.

I'm new to calorie count and would like to join you all.  I just started here a little less than a week ago.

My stats:

Height 4' 11.75"

current weight 105 lb (I was 108 about a month or two ago, but i started Atkins for a few weeks and it jump started me!).

since starting CC, i have been pretty steady at 104 but i pigged out yesterday thus the Friday weigh in of 105 lbs.

My goal weight is 99 lbs, but it would be nice to get down to 96 (although I am not pushing it).

currently i have been sick (fighting a cold) so have not exercised.  I am also about to take off on vacation (maui) so the food intake may not look pretty.. I will try to watch what I eat but I am allowing myself some slack.

My problem with food is i can be good for a while but then I'll binge.  Too much temptation!

Marie

Oh, i also wanted to add i have the same problem as some of you here..... all my fat goes to my stomach... it's awful!! people actually think i'm pregnant! my arms and legs are super thin (husband says my legs look great haha! all that stationery bike works out great!!).

I am starting to do some abs exercise in hopes that may make some difference.

Marie

Disaster!!!

I have been really rubbish at getting back into the gym and I'm a bit scared to in case my hips go out again but I weighed myself this morning and I'm right back to where I started.  :(

I worked so hard to lose the 4 lbs that meant that I could actually get into my nice trousers (even though I couldn't actually wear them out because they were indecently tight) and now I can't get into them again.

I feel absolutely gutted.  I got so happy when I got to 122 and the fact that I stayed there even though I wasn't going to the gym was great but now it's all gone.  I'm so sad that I've returned to eating chocolate and cake and chinese takeaways and in the space of a fraction of the time it took to get the weight off, it's all back.

Anyway, I know I need to get re-motivated to get back to the gym - it's just hard to do.

That's the end of my sad little rant.

Hope you are doing better than me.

Friday 7/11/08 WI:

Starting weight: 131 lbs  Current weight: 126.4 lbs
Goal weight:      11 2 lbs

Glories: Well, hope this counts as a "glory" - - I couldnt make it to the Gym, (still felt muscle discomforts due to the spinning class) but I did have the mental strength to hop on the gazelle for 60 minutes this week.

Confession:  I wanted to eat chocolate ice cream, and got the WW- 2pt popsicles instead....OH SO HARD TO STAY FOCUSED!!!!!

Most of this week I've WI@125.4 thru yesterday, and today Im @126.4!! go figure!!!   I noticed that my sodium intake is high, so I will keep an eye on the sodium and lower my intake.  It causes to retain water, and can be the culprit to my weight loss goals.

Weekly check-in for July 11th

  • Starting Weight: 114 lbs.
  • Current Weight: 111.5 lbs. (down .5 lbs from last week)
  • Goal Weight: 106 lbs.

Glories:

  • Attended my 2 body toning and 2 aerobics classes his week.
  • Got on the treadmill this morning for 30 minutes.
  • Measured myself again - lost 1/2 inch each in hips, waist, arms and gained 1/2 inch in my thighs (which is a good thing). The scale might not show a significant change, but I am gaining muscle and my arms look a little slimmer. No change in the bust area :(
  • Bought salmon for dinner tonight. Hubby and I are both working on the low-cal thing together.

Confession:

  • Tried to cut down on my carbs on Wednesday and was starving, so I ended up eating popcorn.
  • Last night we ordered pizza - I only ate 2 slices, but I am sure it was 1000 calories!! Yikes!

I am 5'1" and weight 168 right now.  I was very lean once, around 1997.  I lift heavy weights, so at 115, I was as skinny as I should ever get.  My goal is to weigh 120 pounds and I would love to get back into a size 2 or 4.  Right now, I wear a size 14.

Hi guys, I wouldn't mind joining either. I am hovering around 105-108 lbs (down from 130-135 lbs in Feb of 2007 thanks to CC+) and want to be 100 lbs for my wedding in September. Not likely to happen I know but I was there 6 months ago when I bought the dress. I am very comfortable at 105lbs but am flabby as all heck since my exercise is minimal. That's my main objective, to ramp up my activity level. Let's motivate one another!

Been on vacation and yes, gained some weight, but i walked 3 miles almost every morning while in Hawaii so i only gained 3 lbs!

this is not friday but since i missed a few weigh ins, I am currently 107 lbs. Goal is 99 lbs.
