I had a very boring turkey sandwich tonight in fear that I may have gained 10 lbs over the holiday weekend...did anyone else go overboard??

I am in!! I  have lost 14 lbs so far but still have another 15 to go!

This looks like a great motivating group!!

 

Count me in.  My plan was 10 lbs before my bday on May 15 (I turn 32... eek!) to put me at my goal weight, but the 24th sounds good and gives me a bit of extra time.  I have lost 22 lbs so far, 10 more to go to my orginal goal, and I may think about losing more after that.  Will try to weigh in weekly, but as a self professed recovering scale addict, I may need to do it every 2 weeks instead.

I would like to join, I just join the calorie count today. I need some motivation. I've been struggling with getting back on track with eating right and exercising. I've put on about 7  to 1olbs in the last month and 1/2 or so. Stress, over eatting, not working out...all that stuff.

I'm 26, Female..Height 4'10.5 ,

.I'm guessing my current weight to be about 155 - 160, I will have to weigh my self tomorrow to know for sure.

At my heaviest I was weighing about 190 - 200, So i have lost some weight over the last year and a half after my last relationship. My ideal goal weight would be 120 to 125, b ut realisticly I'd be happy with 130 - 135.

so yeah I'm not sure how to do eveything on here yet, but I will learn. Can't wait to get started!!

I am in! I'm having a breast reduction surgery on June 6th, and to weigh 143 pounds instead of 153 (or even a little less by then, if I do this groups goal) would be amazing! (I'm 5'5") 

 

Im brand new and just started yesterday and really really need encouragement- especially since this is really hard to do at college. 

 

But 1800 cals a day isn't too terrible so far. I go to bed a little hungry, but thats healthy from what I hear. 

 

Friday weigh in is fine!

Things I did today I am proud....

1) I jogged 3.5 miles today instead of vegging out before we went to my bf's parents for dinner. 

2)  I ate right and passed on all the fatty, non-healthy things his mom made for supper.

3)  I am not having an alcoholic drink tonight. 

4)  I will have an apple for dessert later if I still want one, but for now....  I am ok without.  EDITED TO ADD I SUCK.  I HAVE SO GONE to THE FRIDGE 6 TIMES TO GRAZE AND AS OF YET< HAVE NOT HAD ANYTHING>   I GUESS IT IS GOOD TO MAKE A GOAL AND MAKE IT STICK.  (glass of water, here I come)

I'm proud that Im here at all! I was on a "who cares if I gain the freshman 15 "(it's really only been like... 7... but w/e) kick for a while and now I realize that is silly. I want to look good in a bathing suit this summer! So Im proud i decided to change things 

 

Im proud that Im asking people to help me be accountable and encourage me! 

 

Im proud that yesterday I went running for the first time since the fall! 

 

Im proud that I plan on going again right after dinner tomorrow! (and no, running after eating doesnt make me ill... for some odd reason) 

 

And Ill add one thing Im hopeful for : 

 

Im hopeful that the information i was given about how much I should eat to lose weight is right, because right now its not too terrible and i think I can stick with it... if I spend half as much time on this website as I do on Facebook, I should!

TO ALL MY CHICAS!!!

) :     I am feeling terrible..........I started this AWESOME post that has taken off, and I just had to go back to work!!!!!!!!    ) :   I wrote my own journal, glanced at this post, my XTC2, Join Me New Year, and night/weekend buds (favorite, every day check in, bad ass girrls, best friends posts), and that was basically the ONLY time for cc I had today after getting used to trolling all day ---- and STILL feeling like I was behind.....    ) :     I did not comment on barely anyone's journal   ---- and THAT is somethign i try to do every day.     It helps me SO MUCH when people do that for me.....so.....    : D  WHat can i say?     I promise to try and do better.   I am reading everything.  I just always have so much to say that I don;t want to get started and then have to cut it short.  ( :    I tried a few times to do it today and it was impossible! 

In closing of my long rant  =P,  welcome to all!   I am loving every minute.  I am myself 31 on April 6th, bouncing ANNOYINGLY between 180 (finally!) and184  (CURSES), so I want to make it to 170, but if I hit 174, I'll be happier.  ( ;   We have 8 whole weeks.   

I am commited to jogging/running/walking every day.  It is the one or two (ok, sometimes 4) drinks at night that are killing me.  We quit smoking a while back....blah blah blah.   I have all kind of excuses, but for me, it was about making a choice.  Last year this time, I was turning the BIG 3-0 and a little freaked out at the realization that life was passing me, flying past, whether  I was fat or not, so I decided to make it be NOT.  ( ;   Every day is not easy, but every day has a new set of choices.  (less junk, more water and fresh foods, more movement, more laughter)          ~~Eh?~~

I'm in too!  I have been stuck at 152 for 3 weeks now and I could realllllly use the extra motivation to keep going down!  I'm hoping once Spring finally arrives I will be able to go on more walks and that will help me out.

Hi!  I would like to join in.  Losing 10 lbs by the end of May would be great!  I have about 46 lbs to lose to make my ideal weight.    I'm 5'5" and 38 yrs old.  My current weight is 176.8.  After having three kids (16, 5 and 4) my highest weight was around 205.  I would love to get down to 130 by the end of summer.  Friday weigh in is perfect for me.

As of 5/26/08 my weight is 168.4 for a loss of 8.4 lbs.  5 more days and 1.6 lbs more to lose to meet the 10 lb challenge. Not sure if I will be make it but still proud of what was accomplished.  Will join you all on this next challenge to lose another 10 by July 4th!

I had a pretty good day, went a bit over on the snack side, had popcorn, tortilla chips, a brownie and some dry cereal.  But overall still under 1600 - I'll take it!  I have had so many lunch meetings in the past few weeks it makes it hard to eat with no clue how much, or what's in it.  I just focus on having really small bits of stuff.

I am also on the no alcohol thing (okay alcohol 1time/week).  It has been okay so far, I've actually done better than I thought I would.  I had 3 beers on Sunday, but nothing on Fri or Sat!  We'll see how this weekend goes.

any body watch the biggest loser tonight?

Olivia dont stress about replying to us all, just keep up the good work! I'm struggling at the moment as I have done my back in so can't do any exercise! Really frustrating as I am finding it so difficult to cut down on my eating. Does anyone have any tips on how I can over come this?

good morning everyone!

Olivia- definitely don't stress :) we'll be here when you get back ;) the drinks used to get me too but I made a NY Resolution for one night of drinking per week... I see a good weekend this weekend b/c I'm going to be driving to a friend's concert Saturday, so, less drinking :) yay! maybe a little more weight loss that I am anticipating, but we'll see! omg... only 8 weeks!! I have lots to do before the camping trip!! But I did my my new bathing suit a few weeks ago, so one thing down...

goal today is  to eat 1600 calories... and that's about it for goals today. I have class tonight and am really tired this week.. and it's only Wednesday... lol...

OK here goes - I am 28 years old only 1.5 years of my twenties left (very depressing to me) I started my journey at 233 lbs, currently as of this morning I am 177.2 lbs, trying despirately to get back to 169 like I was before the holidays - but due to a lot of stress I am having a hard time with it.  I would be totally thrilled to be 167 by the end of this challenge. 

I know I can do it, as I've done it in the past, it's just making it happen.  I am so fortunate to have CC in my life, Olivia has been one of my support system/motivation for the past (I don't know) umm 8 months maybe... Like she said she's the peanut butter, I'm the jelly & we have Abbs as our the bread holding us together, and our strength.  Together we make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich - what a great combination... haha! 

I love to read journals & posts, and will do my best to be as motivating as possible to all my friends - so feel free to add me as a friend & I will do the same.

s-pops!!  (is that ok?)  :D  I know you said you tried walking in your journal after surgery and living in UK, the weather must be hard sometimes.  KEEP GOING.  that;s how I started.  It sounds silly, but could just walk around the same 1 block of your neighborhood as many times as you could, sit on the porch, and repeat?  That way if it rained, you are close to home -- ditto back pain.   ( :  Just a thought....

Thanks Olivia, it makes me more determined when people say things like that so I will try and do some walking today. You are very inspiring and do great posts which make me want to succeed!

The next job is to tackle the sweet tooth and then I'm sure I will be winning! Any suggestions.

I like to weigh in on Wed's because it's mid week so my weekend weight is balanced out.  I'll measure tomorrow (if I remember) but my official start weight will be 185.5.  I'm SO ready to get out of the 180's!!  We can do this!!

On the same lines as english muffin pizzas, I do pita pizzas because my b/f would eat 8 little pizzas because he doesn't think that "little" food counts! 
I love shrimp salads (hot grilled shrimp) and fruits are my weakness. But every now and then I have to have CRUNCH N MUNCH does any one have a healthy substitute for this!

I would love to see more of what people are snacking on, I am very bored with fruits/nuts.

For exercise I have been doing in house walking a mile a day to start off.(It's my first week back) and then I will up to 2 miles and add some weights.

I acually gained 3lbs is TTOTM for me. So we will see friday if I can atleast lose 2lbs.

SO weigh-in is on Friday???? just wanna be sure

Hi lemntwist I watched Biggest Loser last night. (and drank 4 oz of vodka :(  ) Back on track today.

Amaresmom-I gained since yesterday. Think it was my sodium from splurging on sunflower seeds.
