Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

Hi bigteeny. Welcome!
I'd love to know more about that Dance, Dance Revolution. Is it a video, dvd? Where do I get it etc....lol.
Hope everyone is doing ok! I had a huge work day yesterday. Had 2- 4 hour jobs for my ladys. Had to be my most demanding ones of course...but they are sweet...just slave drivers. What's funny with these elderly ladys is that I'm almost certain they never cleaned their homes the way they want me to clean it...lol. Like I'm sure they never washed down their walls every week like they watn me to do. :o After 8 hours I came home and was so bushed there is no way I could move to any exercise. Figure I had enough anyways. I weigh myself on Monday so I'm hoping I lost at least 2 pounds.... x-ing fingers.... What does everyone else on here do for exercise? Bigteeny- Dance, Dance revolution, hyechong- Slim in 6..... anyone else? I sometimes do Walk Away the pounds but her talking all the time drives me nuts...So I have to make a music cd that will go with it so I can shut her off...lol

rockinmama-you did exercise yesterday!!!! Your work is total exercise!!!! Do you count it and look it up on this site??? wowow!!!
I've been doing the treadmill. This week I have actually pushed myself b/c last week, I didn't exercise at all. My husband got on it this past weekend b/c he missed workout at gym and when he got off, he was drenched. I thought...hmmm...when I do workout, I don't look like that!!!! So, this week I have pushed myself.
My weigh in is also Monday.

AAAA I've been dying for a treadmill. What a motivator eh? Maybe I should get my hubby to exercise on my Gazelle. Which I also have..but it's not a treadmill.:( Ya I know my work is exercise but it's work. I like feeling like I've actually done exercise....the normal ones...if that makes any sense. I just can't get motivated though. Always sore and tired.
rockinmama I think you're too hard on yourself! You are working out. A lot more than I can say for myself. Although, today, I'm cleaning my house and that's always a workout too!
My Slim in 6 hasn't arrived yet, once it does that's what I'll be doing. Until then, I will be popping in Yogalites by Jonathan Urla to get me started on something.
I don't own a scale yet, but, going to the store get over the weekend...so, I'll weigh in as soon as I can! I know, I know...no scale??

I'm 5'6" at 264.5...down a half a pound since last week. I started in November at 288 but with CC just a few weeks ago. I have to get myself a food scale too. I've hesitated buying one. I thought it might be going overboard but I see a lot of people here swear by theirs. Measuring spoons/cups aren't cutting it. lol
Let me ask...I've added quite a few foods here (not recipes) and I still don't see any. Does anyone know the approximate turnaround on that? In the meantime I've been using comparable items that are as close as I can find in stats. That can be so time consuming though.

well come on in vklamorick!!!! congrats on weight loss!!!!! that is awesome!!!!!! come here often for encouragement, support, and just fun!
I have also bought a food scale. Best thing I did! I was so off!!
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by adding food? Do you mean when you log it? If you want to keep seeing that food b/c it's one of your staples..tag it! You'll see that section and add the food as you call it, then you can pull it up under tagged items.
Does that help? Or was that even what you were looking for!!!
and hyechong---good luck on the scale shopping. hope you get a good one...maybe magical???? lol

Welcome vklamorick! Tagging it would be the easiet way that I know of too. I've never tried adding foods to the site. I always do like you...find something that seems simular and I use that then tag it. If you have questions on different things the calorie-count forum is really helpful.
Thanks for the big welcome guys! :)
OK Rockinmama, I think we're on the same page with the similar food idea. Eh, if it works...right!?
I'm joining hyechong this weekend by scale shopping as well. I hope I haven't been too off...unless it's in my favor. Lol

Hiya. Room for one more in the club? I've lost 34 so far but have so much more to go. I'm doing well and staying motivated pretty easy right now (2.5months), but I know myself and know that once I hit a plateau I'll really need alot of support to stick to healthy eating and walking.
welcome motivate! 34 pounds is awesome!!!!! you are definitely in the right spot for motivation!!!
feeling kinda muchy right now.....between 4-5 pm every afternoon I get that "need something" feeling...but not hungry. hmmm...think I'll make some coffee

i'm having such a hard time w/ this. I don't know why but I've gained a half pound this week! I did awesome and lost 2 poudns last week but this week it isn't happening. The only difference I can see is that I didn't start my week off at the gym. I've only made it once so far each week but when I went this week I felt like i was going to pass out so I didn't stay and work out. This is just really frustrating since I"m trying so hard to lose close to 30 pounds by june 17th or at least get close to that. At this rate I won't be anywhere near that goal. ugh....i posted a journal on it if anyone's interested. I need advice on this!
kt- go read my post in your journal sweetie...:)
Motivateme320- I too welcome you. 34 pounds is so awesome. Yes those plateaus are killers but we'll be there for you. This site is really great for that. If one of us can't someone else can help.

thnks rockinmama--it's just so hard to see teh numbers go up after they have been going down! I was at home yesterdya so I probably didn't drink as much water as I would if I had a water bottle w/ me like when I'm at work so maybe that's it. I didn't realize that if you don't drinik as much water it could factor into yoru weight. ugh....i've been doing good today so i'm hoping it will show on teh scale by monday :/
Water is a big thing kt. Especially if you're eating high sodium foods.....and that's even if you don't retain water. Days I don't drink enough I usually have a gain the next day. Hope your weekend is good. That's where I always have a hard time and why I never weigh myself on a Monday. Friday is my day and usually....though not this friday....but usually I lose at least a little bit and then that keeps me motivated throughout the weekend. :)
rockinmama-thanks for advice on water. my husband and i were talking about sodium....and duh..........that makes so much sense!!!thanks for the reminder!
Good morning everyone! Yes, I do believe it is morning. (I'm never up this early!)
Welcome, welcome motivateme320 and vklamorick and congratulations on the weight-loos! Keep up the good work. :) and welcome to the club!
ktcort13 - Don't get frustrated! & Don't get fixed on the numbers. They are simply numbers. How do you feel?? How does your body?? Just keep doing the right things and the number will eventually go down on their own. :)
Have a great day everyone!

I couldn't find a 300 + group. Is it ok for me to join here? I only have 4 lbs to go to get to 299. So hope it's ok because I need all the help I can get.
I have already lost about 18 lbs on this site. Thanks for the help. I really need to know the calorie counts.
I just recovered from a debilitating asthma attack so am trying to make up for lost time in my daily walking. I have to count my daily steps because I can only walk about 2 mins at a time before I have to rest for about an hour.

Urbanrose,
I'm not the one to start the club, but, I don't see why not! Welcome! It seems that everyone is welcome here. Congratulations on the weight loss!
I wish I had some words of wisdom but, I just started to the club myself. I've never really given it my all before so, this time, I am.
The calorie counting really helps me too. The other day when I was grocery shopping, I found myself comparing labels and making healthier choices and I believe it all has to do with the calorie counting! It's great because it keeps me focused.
Anyways, welcome and good luck!
