Since my "accidents", I've noticed more and more aggressive jerks on the road. I mean, I left my house at 4:15 this morning and encountered no less that 6 buttheads within the 50 minutes it takes me to drive to work. I wish I could telework Mon-Fri to avoid the crazy people! *more observations from Fuzzy Shnitz* |

Thats why I like the bus. I don't notice the buttheads. |

Original Post by shnitzel: Yeah, I noticed this the week after my accident in the rain. The buttheads are there, and they're scary. It's amazing there aren't more accidents down here. THAT is part of why I'm getting the hella out of DC. |

Makes me thankful that the bulk of my commute is on a light-to-moderately traveled secondary road.
I did pull a jerk-driver move yesterday, though, but it was by accident, kinda. I still felt like a butthead, but still. There was a car in front of me, and we were about 1/4 mile from an intersection with a green light. Car in front of me puts on brakes and slows way down as we approach a turn lane into a gas station. They kept slowing down so I assumed they were going into the turn lane, and I zipped around them on the right shoulder. But they weren't turning, apparently, just doing that HIGHLY ANNOYING "Ohhh noes I better slow down 'cause the light's green but it'll turn red ANY SECOND" move. /vent |

Hello Ms. Carrie. I tried the CD you sent to me. I don't know that I love it. Sowwy. A couple of the songs are OK, but.. I don't know that it's my thing. |

Hi Carrie! A similar thing happened to me yesterday Laura. We were coming to a green light and the lady was putting on her brakes. I did wait until she was almost at a stop at the light before I honked my horn. I did not want to have to sit through that light. I couldn't figure out why she was stopping at a green light. |

LOL @ Kim's pic!!! Hee!
People do that around here a lot. I mean, I can understand slowing down a little as you approach the intersection. But people slow way down when they're still like, 1/4 - 1/2 mile back from it (they generally tend to be older people, too.) Of course the light will turn red now, since you're just gonna crawl up to the intersection. If you'd just GO, you'd make it with no trouble (as I did. *ahem.*) Plus nobody ever uses turn signals, so when you slow down to a crawl at a left turn lane, what am I supposed to think? Oh well. Still lightweight stuff compared to city traffic. |

I suppose I'm still jittery from the accident over the weekend. Yesterday, driving home, this guy flies up behind me and I thought he was going to tailgate me all the way home, so I just pulled onto the shoulder to let him pass, but he made a quick left turn onto a side street. I mean, really, is THAT necessary? |

Hk has one bad traffic habit (just one?) If the light turns RED, HK usually tries to catch it, which might mean slamming on the breaks. It's NOT a good habit. |
