I have seen lots of 'What did you eat today', 'what did you have for lunch today', ect....but I have never seen a breakfast one. I think this is a great way to try new foods and get other ideas.
For starters, this is what I had:
- Oatmeal with half a banana, Cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract;
- Half a kiwi;
- Raspberries;
- Raisins;
- Strawberries;
- Unsalted cashews;
- and raw almonds.
What did YOU have today?

OHHHHH....That sounds like SO MUCH fun.....I used to do that every year with my Grandma before she died. We would pick loads of them, eat about half, then lay on the couch all day because our stomachs hurt so bad...
- omelet w/ 1/2c egg sub,1 slice Fat free american cheese,1/4c ea. mushrooms, red onion, red pepper
- LAWL Jetstart (coffee drink)
- Pomegranate/Cranberry Juice 75% reduced sugar
All this for 283 calories!! yummy !! ![]()
1/3 cup oatbran with 2 tbsp pumpkin puree, 1 tbsp each pure maple syrup, wheat germ, ground flax, soy protein powder & dried cranberries.
1 cup Silk Light soy milk.
I love breakfast :)
O.K, I usually have 1 packet of Weight Control Quaker Maple Syrup and Brown Sugar with hot water and 1 apple or 1 banana for breakfast. And my lunch and dinner would be compatively bigger than this. But since I keep hearing that breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day, lunch half of breakfast and dinner half of lunch, I decided to reverse the order of things and had for breakfast what I usually have for dinner.
1) 1/2 cup of chopped onions
2) 1 medium sized tomato
3) 3-4 Green chillies
4) 1/2 cup of frozen mixed vegetables (green peas, corn, carrorts & green beans)
5) 1/2 cup of frozen green peas
6) 1/4 cup of cooked medium grained brown rice
I took 1.5 tsp of Canola oil in a skillet, and cooked all the above with some water and a pinch of salt. And it was yummy.....And for dinner I am planning on having what I usually have for breakfast - 1 packet of Weight Control Quaker Maple Syrup and Brown Sugar with hot water and 1 apple or 1 banana.
Any suggestions on whether this is a good idea? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
Today for breakfast (almost every day for that matter) I had a toasted english muffin with one tablespoon of peanut butter and coffee with milk and sweet and low. All for less than 300 calories.
I eat a lot of food because I am an endurance athlete. So I had a multigrain bagel (190 cals) with 0.5 tbsp smart balance light, apple fruit strip, nature's choice strawberry cereal bar, 4 oz natural apple sauce, and some homemade instant oatmeal (1/4 c quick oats, 1 tbsp wheat germ, 1tbsp ground flaxseeds, 1tbsp brown sugar).
I pretty much eat this everyday. somes I sub waffles/pancakes for the bagel and cereal bar.
I had two home made chicken soft tacos. All breast meat with a hint of reduced sodium taco seasoning cooked with it, then put on two soft warm white corn tortillas, a dash of shredded mexican style cheese and a good dollop of roasted salsa. (left overs from the night before) It was good.
My breakfast (which wasn't until 1:00pm- oops!) was 2 hard boiled egg whites and a little over a cup of mixed veggies- celery, green pepper, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes- topped off with a big bottle of.. you guessed it- WATER!
Pre-workout: 1/4 cup fat free organic yogurt, 1 apple
Post-workout: 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup coffee, ice -- all blended together to make a YUMMY shake =)
This post makes me happy because I found todays breakfast to be particularily stunning in its tastes.
Protein Fruit Smoothie (I don't normally measure things for this, so anything you could pour in from a bag is approx)
1 Cup Frozen Mixed Berries (blue, black, straw and rasp)
11 Freshly Cut Cherries (I counted those)
1 Scoop of PVL Chocolate Whey Gourmet Powder
1 Cup of Milk
2 HEAPING Teaspoons of Cottage cheese (probably like 1/4 cup in the end)
2 Teaspoons of Ground Almonds
A dash of imitation coconut extract
Delicious!!! Also, I'd appreciate any flavour additions/suggestions anyone has. I'm looking for new ways to enjoy my morning smoothies (I have frozen strawberries, bananas, mangos and the mixed berries and I rotate my fresh fruit as well)
hi...
I had 2 scrambled egg whites with a slice of american cheese. Also a glass of skim milk...
mmm....
Banana pudding smoothie.
6oz soy milk, 1/2 banana, banana protein, 1/4 scoop non fat vanilla yogurt powder, and ice.
It's fabulous! all that 's missing is the Nilla Wafers. I work at a gym so I have access to all this awesome smoothie concoction stuff and the killer blender. If you can get it, Dr. Smoothie rocks! It's the only stuff out there without high fructose corn syrup.
Quaker maple and brown sugar weight control oatmeal with 1/2 apple and 1/4 cup raisins with a dab of milk. Very filling.
2 pieces of schwebels lite bread
1 tbsp margarine
1.5 tbsp smuckers sugar free strawberry preserves
.33 cup All Whites
1.5 cup cantaloupe
.5 cup blueberries
Two slices nature's own double fiber bread, toasted
spread with two tbsps skippy creamy peanut butter, reduced fat( goooeeey goodness!!)
and 1/3 of a thinly sliced banana in between
kept me satisfied until lunch....:)
Two crumpets with lots of butter. naughty.
oatmeal made with 1/3 cup rolled oats, 2 tbsp bran, 1/2 tsp allspice and water
pot of black english breakfast tea (3 cups) with skim milk
Just fruit for me. I am practicing food combining and it's working. This morning I had a banana and just recently a handful of cherries yum!
it funny how often I see spinach in the replies... here in Holland we're not even thinking about eating that for breakfast... :-) and crumpets? I don't even know what those are :-)
I had yogurt and amaranth granola, linseed and strawberries....
