Thank you!  Good luck this week.  How is the nutrisystem?  Does it really fill you up?

Chobbs:

It dont usually full me up. I guess I have to get use to eating foods I dont usually eat. Im more of a meat eater but with these foods Im eating all kinds of food and even though I eat breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and dessert they are some smallllll servings but Im hanging in there.  I use to eat when Im hungry and not this much but I guess its working so far.

I'd like to join too!

My goal is 30 - 35 lbs I worked it out that since I am pretty darn sedentary I can eat 1700 calories a day and lose that weight by November 1st.  I had been doing the calorie counter back in April and was doing ok, but didn't think of checking out the forums.  I'm a person that needs a bit of support and motivation.  I know this will have to be slow and steady for me to change my eating habits.  I know I can do this!

hey   count me in !! I'm trying to drop 30 pounds as well and I'm in the 1200-1400 calorie range ...  I've lost 8 lbs already  with little to none exercise .... I'm currently sitting at 142 .. Id really like to be at around 105 but I would  be very  happy  dropping this first 30 and toning up a bit.... I was walking  up my ALL very uphill road once  to twice a day .. but I stopped  for a week cuz it rained all dang week!  It's been hard trying to get back into it because now its nice and sunny but its like 90 degrees and humid and after taking care of my 2 kids all day and cooking dinner and everything I just can't seem to find the drive to go out and do it ..I'm gonna start back up tonight!!!  ( I'm holding myself accountable on this very thread lol ) .... also this income time my hubby is gonna buy me a elliptical  and total gym ! I can't wait  I know the pounds will start flying off when I can get some REAL exercise along with my good eating habits  :)

Welcome aboard!

Im trying to stay focus and serious in losing this weight.

Yes you can do it!

onesullengurl: Welcome aboard.

Thought I would check in with you all!  I was away camping for a couple of days (which always spells disaster), but am back on track today.  I was down 1 pound on Friday (from the Friday before), but I'm not sure where I'll be at this week.  I did do a pretty good hike while we were away (approx. 9 km), but the food was baaad.  This morning I ran about 2.5 km's and then biked to work, so it's a nice clean start.  I do eat more than most of you though, I found that though I lost a lot of weight eating that low at first, soon enough it stopped.  I usually eat approx. 1600 or so calories and that's when I'm not working out Embarassed.  I'll be eating closer to 2440 today.  I got these numbers from a dietitian at one point, and I think once I get back to working out regularly it'll all work out.  I wore my heart rate monitor all day today (it's just after lunch) and so far I've burned about 2350 calories.  If I ate around 1300 calories, I would already have a deficit of 1000, never mind my bike ride home.

sada - We are pretty much at the same starting point!!!  Cool to have someone who is at the same place!!

sexycoolaries -Thanks for starting this thread, this may just be what I need!!

Hi all!  If I might, I'll join the club.  Sounds like you all are doing very well, keep up the good work!

My story:  A bit over 2 years ago, weighed 255 (male, 6'2" tall, 44 years old).  The last two years I buckled down over the warm months and lost about 30 lbs each year, then gained 10 back during the cold months.  I jog for exercise and count calories.  This year, started at about 213, now at 203.  Aiming for my usual 30 lb loss (though it seems harder this year) to hit 183 and then we'll see.  The mirror will say when I'm done!  Made some more lifestyle changes recently like eating breakfast and joining a gym for weight training so I hopefully will have some muscle left when I get down to my target weight (I am not muscular, never have been).  I finally have gotten to the point where I enjoy the exercise although I am still not particularly fit (I jog pretty slowly).

As further motivation I'm going to run a half marathon in October and I'm hoping to reach my weight target by then.

Anyway, I'll update every Wednesday and offer encouragement to the rest of you also!

I'd like to join!  I'm looking to lose 25-30 lbs, and definitely need outside motivation. :)

Good luck to everybody trying to stay on track over the holiday weekend.  Holidays can be hard but they can also be an opportunity for a change of routine!  Make sure to exercise and have fun!

Yea the holiday will be a tough one but we can all do it!

What happen to everybody up here?  Not even half the people who signed up for losing 30 pounds reported their progress for this week.  We have to stick to it and be serious in losing this weight. I need motivation too.  I hope everyone is doing ok. We suppose to check in every Wednesday.....

Hey there,

I just joined up yesterday, but I can tell you my stats from then.

I'm 5'10" and I thought I was at close to 185lbs, but the scale yesterday afternoon said 178lbs.  Today I weighed myself in the morning like most discussions say is best and it was at around 176 give or take so I guess that's closer to what I actually am.  That then puts me at a point where I want to lose around 25lbs.  Considering most of the time I'm around 180 - 185 I still plan to stay in this group!  We can do it :)

Today was a hard day for me, I was having a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day!  Everything seemed to be going wrong and all I wanted to do was munch on food to make myself "feel better" Of course we all know in the long run that's not the case, we just feel worse.  I weathered through the worst of it with lime juice flavoured water and a yoghurt.  I had eaten well overall during the day and splurged on having a handful of chips after my dinner.

I made the most delicious chicken pot pie yesterday for my sister and I and there's only one portion left.  I found it on the back of a bisquick box and when you break it down into 8 portions it's quite reasonable per portion calorie wise. I will definately be making it again as it's ever so tasty.  If anyone is interested in a stick to your ribs type of meal without the fat let me know and I"ll post my slightly modified version of the recipe here :)

Hey all!  I'm pretty new to the website and would love to join for a little extra motivation.  For the past couple weeks I have just been recording my intake, just to get in the habit!

I 5'5" and started at 157 and am down to 154 I'd love to lose about 30 lbs maybe a little less depending on how I feel!    I'm going to try to stay about 1350 cal a day.

Thanks!

Been on the plan for 3 days and down 2.5lbs.

There is one heck of a massive chocolate cake 3 feet away from me half  eaten for someones  leaving party and its KILLING ME.

I will either have  the best will power in the world today or have a huge smile on my face all covered in chocolate.  Anyone want to take bets?

Have you ate that cake yet Laughing

nope! and I'm about to leave the office.... yay me!

Check out this link I found for BMR http://www.phord.com/cc/

BMR/RMR Calculator - Calorie-Counting Math Tool

Here are a bunch of calculators, there is a water calculator to help you figure how much you should be drinking depending on how much you are working out.  Some other interesting stuff...
