  Jun 21 2008 08:07

Hello everybody,

I'm new to the forum and I'm on day 6 of the Master Cleanse. Has anyone else on here did it before and how were your results?

No, you can pretty much starve yourself for free!

I don't see the harm in doing it for one to three days, I have done a slight twist on it for two days to help me lose water weight. Since we have already established that it is in fact water weight you lose in the beginning it should have no extraordinary impact on your body if only done for 1-3 days as you could easily have done the same sitting in a sauna ...

I think people just overreact when they here the word, in fact it is scientifically supported that fasts are o.k to go on as long as it is within a certain range. I cannot support being on this kind of fast for a longer period  of time as it has quite an impact on the metabolism, nutrient intake and other things, but one must also realize every body handles things differently, there are those who have come off the cleanse and managed to keep at least 3/4 of the weight off as well as being able to raise their metabolism back to a  healthy range.

I love this thread... I thought we were supposed to be encouraging and making ourselves knowledgeable about HEALTHY weight loss..

Normally, I would have ignored this but it's infuriating. I asked an intelligent question not too long ago about herbal supplements and extracts and no one responded. Yet someone makes a thread about a starvation diet and 47 people respond? The majority positively? Pathetic..

Well there are two aspects at hand here, weight loss and getting rid of toxins so of course it raises many questions once you start to weigh the two together , it is not necessarily a starvation diet depending on how long, you do it and the purpose of you doing it. Of course because of the many interpretations many replies can be expected on these sort of things.

I am sorry I have no input on  herbal supplements, as I have no experience using them or have done no research on them I cannot be of assistance.
:(
