20 pounds in 10 weeks-have you ever done it??

Hi everyone!

I would really like to hear from people who have lost 20 pounds within 10 weeks or have good suggestions on how to do this!  I am 21, 5'3'' and about 140-145 and would like to be 120-125 in 10 weeks.  Can I do this?  And if you have done this, how many calories and what kind of exercises did you do?  Thanks everyone!!

139.6, down from 143 last friday : )

I was able to lose 20 pounds in about 8-10 weeks for most of my first 100 pounds lost, but I was obese, I think being as overweight as I was made it easier for me to lose weight, you are much smaller, and now that I have gotten smaller I find it impossible to lost 20 pounds in 10 weeks! =P

So far Chacha is at a 3.4 lb loss! thats nuts lady...Good for you!!

Ok, so how about the fact that i am the "keeper of the weights" and putting up all this motivation blah and yet I gained a pound, anyone wanna chime in on that one!

but i think i know why. I have been sticking to 1250 BUT not really healthy food, like yesterday, I walked a lot (shopping, washed 2 cars inside and out, did laundry up 3 flights of stairs, took kids to park) BUT i only had 2 hot dogs from local stand and 2 peices of pizza for supper with an iced coffee for the entire day. SO im sticking to 1250 but 1250 of nasty food. I will have to change that this week. chacha - i am soooo gonna catch up! LOLLaughing

My GW: 138lbs in 10 weeks.

I have always been on the heavier side but not nemore and like someone in this discussion said ' you achieve what you mind believes..' and I know we all can do it!!!!

So DPT - Youre on there. But how about this. Lets do 18 pounds in 9 weeks. I know how hard it is to think 20 in 10 and now since you are coming in late, lets make yours 18 in 9, LOL. (basically still same thing) but weigh ins are every friday by 2 so I can post all the weights

so 250 left for today and My Daughter got a got report card (preschool but hey it counts)so we are taking her to her favorite rest, TGI Fridays for dinner. What the heck am I gonna order!

and gains are ok too..atleast we all are trying hard.

the other day i gained 2 lbs and i was upset so i thought I am not eating enuf and I started eating more and the next day I saw thr was a 2lb loss.

I think it is just about the inches u loose...

Hey jfon~don't feel bad (plus remember that weight was from friday night lol so i probabaly wasn't quite 143!) still happy about it though...just jump right back on the healthy eating train this week!

yeah. easier said than done on the weekends. haha. but i am determined to do this the right way so I am going to discipline myself a little more than normal.

well, i stayed within my calorie limit but i had a bowel of lucky charms almost everyday this week : S

I am doing great! I have been keeping up with my workouts and have not gone over 1000 calories everyday so far this week. I've been to the gym 3 times so far this week and hopefully can make there tonight! Been eating some carbs but still maintaining my calorie count. Hopefully Friday will be a good day for me. Vacation is coming up quick....two weeks...trying to look as good as I can!! Hope everyone else is doing good...keep the workouts up and calories low!

6/13/08 - 143.8

LOSS -  1.4 for the week / 4.6 total!!

I hope everyone else had a good week.. i get frustrated when I know I stay within my calorie allowance and i go to the gym and i still gain weight (for example.. yesterday i was 141.8 and today i was 142.4 .. booo.  oh well, it just makes me want to eat even better.

also - shout out to jfontaine - you're so motivational & i just wanted to give you back some cc love!! :)

6/20- 117.5

LOSS- 1.5lbs for the week!!! (normally about 1lb so this week is great!)

136.8, down from 139.6 last week!  and I second what a previous poster said about you, jfon! you are doing an awesome job motivating us!  Oh and to kla~don't worry so much about the weight gain if it was a day after you worked out...sometimes i retain water if i had a tough workout the day before.  I also found this discouraging though so that's why I stopped weighing myself everyday.

HAHA! I just wish I could motivate myself half as much! LOL. I actually have not even been logging my food, because I did it for about 3 weeks, so i know what I can eat and stay where I need to be. That is huge for me because i am very easily swayed by a good meal. Last night we went to Ruby Tuesday, and I knew i was having a few beers so I purposely only got mashed potatoes plain and some mozz and tomato salad. So i still stayed at a 800 deficit for yesterday. i never realized how easy it actually is to eat correctly. The workout thing is a WHOLE other story however. i try to work out. but next week is all back to normal now so I will be back at the gym everyday for 35 minutes at a time. and now that weather is so nice, i think i am going to TRY to get up at 530 and walk around the circle in neighborhood for 45 minutes. that will still give me plenty of time to get ready and I will keep telling myself that "no pain is no gain (or loss in this case. LOL)"

On a more positive note, I am back to 143 which means i lost the pound that i gained last week. SO no loss, but at least ground zero is nice.

Another positive note. The stats so far.

KLA - youre wrong, your actually down 5.2 according to the numbers you gave me....way to bust butt!

Loving - youre at 3.5. seriously, you guys are wooping my butt. I am seriously gonna need to "step" it up this week!
