I thought I did so bad yesterday. Iweighed this morning, and I lost 21/2 lbs. That makes me at 10 total. It's unbelievable to me. This is the best I have ever done. But at the same time I know your supposed to lose slowly.
If I can just stick to it. I am looking forward to this summer for once. I even got my daughter, sister and sister in law on this program. It helps so much to have this site for support! I feel like you all can understand more about this uphill battle. Well thats all for now. Thanks |

| Hey All! Well, I'm back down below 270 again - I went up while my daughter was in the hospital. All that sitting around and no way to track calories.... Ugh! Anyway, I have between six and nine months to drop 60 pounds or so. My daughter has been qualified for a Make-a-Wish, and if we are going to travel anywhere, I want to be down in the low 200's. I already have a gym membersip, but the last two weeks have barely seen me there. I'm feeling a little down right now - I've had zero progress this month (just a bunch of yo-yo) and I can't believe it's almost March already! I'd like to see at least 3 pounds progress, maybe 5 for Feb. January went so well.... | ||

I'm down 1.5 lbs today for a total of 10.5 in about a month. I'm still in the over 200 club (209.5 as of today) but I'm hoping by the end of next month (my birthday) I'll be under. I've also lost a total of 8.25 inches. I'm so glad I took my measurement before I started. It's a great motivational boost to see the inches disappear especially when the scale doesn't move.
Congrats to all! |

HOORAY Machine! Congrats to you. We'll miss ya UP here. :P LOL And Rhettmom - I know it's hard to track cals when you're off your schedule, but hopefully you can know-ish what is a better choice than not. And I know hospital food offers pretty poor options in terms of healthy foods, which is pretty damn ironic! But all the little things count. When you're there, do laps around the wing. Take the stairs, go out for fresh air and walk around the building and/or parking lots of a bit. Keep it up and you'll enjoy that trip just THAT much more when the time comes! |

Craftin4me,
I think it's normal that you are losing weight so fast because you are at the beginning of your weight loss. There is nothing wrong with that. The important thing is that you keep up the motivation when the pounds come off more slowly. Congrats on that 10 pounds and know we are there to offer motivation when the pounds start to come off a bit more slowly. |

| On January 15th I started at 229.5. Today I weigh in at 210.4. My goal weight is 130.0. My goal for this next week is to get .9 of a pound off so that I have lost 20 pounds. For the mont of March I want to get out of the 200's. My goal for April is to just maintain my weight. My ultimate goal is to just keep it off. I'm sick of this yo yo crap! Wish me luck! :o) | ||

Hi Seize, Don't give up. How often do you weigh yourself? Make sure you do it only once a week at the same time on the same scale. Your weight will fluctuate daily so over all you will loose. Keep in mind when you go to the gym if you are looking to loose weight cardio, cardio, cardio that is the key. If you are doing any weight training at all, muscular weighs more than fat. So if you are adding muscle weight that is good. A good way to track that is with body fat calculator. One of the staff there should be able to do that for you. It is a tool they use kind of like a caliper that measures your fat to muscle and your lean fat. You have to have some fat to live. They should also be able to tell you what your idea ratio should be. Just keep it up, you will see a difference you didn't gain the weight over night and you won't loose it over night either... |

I'd like to join! I just joined this site yesterday and I peaked in at 242.5 lbs and I am close to 6'. The biggest I have ever been in my life. I'm 25 years old. I'm having a big trip to California in July and I hope to get married a year later in September. I won't want to do any of these if I can't loose some of this weight. I hope this works, I need some confidence.
Nice to meet all of you and know I'm not alone for this =O) |

One thing I've kinda been confused about is my thing told me I should have 1330 calories per day. Generally I have this or less per day and I haven't lost a thing. Do I need to eat 1200 at least per day to loose weight? Yesterday I only had 860 calories.
It's confusing me because...do I need to eat more to loose weight? =T |

makambo,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. You have no idea how hearing from someone helps me focus. And you hit the nail on the head. While I am very excited to have lost 10 lbs, it all came to a screeching halt on 2/20. I have stayed exactly the same for 5 days. I refuse to give up, I know I will break this plateau. Take care Princess, I don't know what you exercise schedule is . But what I do is the days when I am not exercising or am sedentary. I reduce my intake. Having said that I really don't think it is a good idea to go under 1200 calories a day. When I started this, I talked to my dr. and ( I really wanted to do 1000 a day) but she talked me out of it. I have maintained about 1200-1300 per day and I lost 10 lbs, but now I have leveled out and am on a plateau. ( see above). So basically, the idea for me is to burn more calories in a day than I consume. I can't always do that but I still shoot for it. Hang in there the weight will start to come off. take care |

Hi everyone! I've been on CC for almost 2 months now, and have gone from 238 on 1/9/07 to 220 today. I'm 5'7" and 23. So far I haven't noticed any huge differences. I can see it in my face a little bit and feel it in my jeans and in my bra (haha). I'm hoping to break the 200 mark in May. Eeee, wish me luck! Katie |

Hi everybody!
I'm so excited, I started this healthier way of eating/life the first of the year, and, as of today, I've lost 20 lbs!!! And I'm eating more than ever, I've always been overweight, and always starved myself, just ruined my metabolism. I'm also disabled, and have done no exercise. No one can really tell it, but my clothes are really getting big! I have so much further to go, over a hundred, but, for the first time in a long time, I believe it can happen. |

hello, I'm a newbie and have 115 to lose. I would like to know if anybody can tell me how to figure out how many calories I need to eat to lose 2-3 lb. a week. I have seen an equation before, and I can't remember how it goes. There's a math to this, help me! Tammerac |

Hello everyone I am new here, too. I think I have topped out at about 230 pounds - I don't know for sure because I do not usually weigh myself before I lost some weight, silly I know. I am 222 lbs now while 5 ft 5" and aspire to be 137 lbs, which I was last in 2002. I am having a really hard time losing weight, mostly because I tend to binge, particularly when coming home from work, but I just gotta hang in there... |
