| Missing Son, Prayers Please | ||
| Sep 07 2007 07:30 | ||
| EDIT: Chris went missing September 3rd 2007, here is a link to his web site, please let everyone you know know about this. Thank you.
www.FindChris.org I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here. Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive too cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too. This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before. The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances". This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst. My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do. I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things. Prayers are definitely welcome. Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything. Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids... EDIT: Here is a link to the news paper artical. http://www.thespectrum.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200709 07/NEWS01/709070304 I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care. EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures EDIT: Here is a link to the web site http://www.findchris.org/ |

The good and the bad news is that the lead from yesterday for sure has nothing to do with Chris. As of right now we have no leads. There hasn't been a sighting of his blazer in a long time. I told Dave last night that I really think I'm going to go crazy. I'm so close to just loosing it. The emotional roller coaster hasn't stopped or leveled off yet. Last night I just wanted to cry and cry and cry until I ran out of tears. Where is he? He has to be somewhere, why can't we find him? The "Concert For Chris" is tonight. We are hoping that it will keep people aware that we are still looking and keep others still looking too. The weather here is turning cold so we are doing the concert indoors. It would be nice to be able to do things outside still, but we would all freeze. I am grateful that we have a place to do one. I'll try to post pictures of the concert later. I'm sure it will be an emotional time for all of us. It will be good to be around friends that are helping with this effort. Thank you for keeping this tread going. It really is therapeutic to have a place to write everyday. I'm not sure what you want to hear about, sorry if sometimes this is too much of my diary, but really that is what it is. Thank you for caring, it's nice to be loved. ~Shannon |

Dear Lord, I take this to you in prayer. Our Dear Chris has now been gone for a month. They have no leads and our hearts are starting to break. I know that he is safe with you Lord... I know that you are with all of us here Lord. But there is Doubt and heart ach. I ask that you be with all of the Family and Friends. Cary them through. This evening will be tough on them all and they need you now more than ever. as the days pass and the nights are long they need you to carry them over the troubled waters. Hold them, Love them, give them Strength dear Lord. Jesus, I ask all of this in your most precious name, AMEN |

The concert went really well. We had a packed house. All the musicians did a great job, we had fun just kicking back and listening to them play. In-between acts we would talk about keeping Chris in our hearts and spreading the word that we are still looking for him. We had the T-shirts there to sell, and the owner of the T-shirt shop made and donated silicone bracelets to sell that say "FindChris.Org" on them. All the money goes towards further efforts to find Chris.
Yesterday I "saw" Chris three times. Twice it was out of the corner of my eye and then I would look and of course he wouldn't be there. The third time it was in my dreams, but I wasn't dreaming about him, I was seeing him in my dreams. I'm not sure that make any sense. I'm not sure what any of it means, I'm not sure if I'm seeing his spirit or if I'm just going crazy and seeing things that I want to see. Here we go again, into another weekend. It is still so unreal. I'm going to Las Vegas and all along the way I'm going to put fliers up so if he went that way maybe someone will see him. It's weird that we are still doing this. Thank you for your prayers and support. Thank you for your emails and your concern. I'm a huge believer in what goes around comes around and I know you will all be blessed for your kindness. ~Shannon |

| I just had a thought........ I have been reading since day one, and have been at Jesus' feet for Chris' safe return and for your whole family. I even lit a candle for him. But the thought of the military came to my mind. My son is in the army and he joined at 18 years of age, so maybe Chris joined and didn't tell anyone????? If he is at boot camp, maybe he will contact you all after he finishes that? Just a thought? I will keep praying for you all all day every day! Please know that you are loved. | ||

Shannon, Do you have the t-shirts up for public sale? Do you have a paypal account sent up or something? I'm sure I'm not the only one here that would support the efforts..actually, I *know* I'm not the only one here that would support efforts. Having them for sale on findchris.org may help boost the funding. ~Tatjana |

Shannon, I have a kind of weird suggestion, but I post it anyway. How about getting car magnet posters made for your car? Do you know what I mean... one that covers a good part of a car door? Something like this: http://www.nextlevelcustomsigns.com/Magnet-Signs-s/61.htm (I searched for "car magnet poster" and got a lot of hits.) Edited to add another link: http://www.postersigns.com/ |

Nycgirl mentioned it earlier, but here is the link to the site to re-light and light candles for Chris (it's free and a nice way to show our support). Candles only stay lit for 48 hours, so make sure to go back and visit. If you click this link it will take you to the CC group (double meaning - Calorie Count and Chris Coan) and click on an unlight candle to light it. It will guide you through. http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi =cc Come back and post your candle's link if you don't mind, so Shannon and her family can easily find it and read your thoughts and prayers. |

This boy needs to get his tushy home already. Doesn't he know he's making his mama crazy? Just like MC said, we're all here for you for all the support you need. I can't wait to celebrate him coming home. I know she didn't post it directly, but I'm going to! The link for the donation to help this cause: FindChrist.org - Make a donation by buying a tshirt or wrisband. |
