Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds ennazus520
  Jan 28 2008 19:41
Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am 23 years old. I weigh 258.3 pounds(yikes) and would really like to get down to between 140 and 150. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in their 20's who has about that much they want to lose. We could work together and stay motivated to reach our goals!!! Also, if there is anyone in their 20's who has lost that much and wants to share their success story, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

Hello Every how is everyone doing? Me I feel great I think this was great change for me I use to sleep till 11 or 12 then get up and eat I didn't really do anything else but do a little cleaning. But now i get up between 7-8:30 with my fiance, Eat Breakfast, Check my e-mail and stuff Then exercise a little take care of the baby ( he is a late sleeper too witch i love because it gives me time to do what i need to do) and then i might catch some more exercise in the evening just depends on Steven ( my sons ) attitude .  This is the first time i stuck to a diet more than 2 days and usually lol i quit because i don't see the weight moving  but this one made me feel good so i stuck to it and wow only 5 days and 3 pounds i know it wont stay coming off like that all the time but hey i still feel great. I wish everyone a great day.

liza: I totally agree about the water intake! I bought a bottle of evian water three weeks ago (the bottles are really sturdy; y'know how some bottles "crack" and lose their shape b/c the plastic is too thin?) and I've been toting it around with me everywhere. I fill it up at least 2-3 times during the workday, and when I go home I'm always like, "Where's my water!?" :)

hearts: Welcome! And again, congrats on losing 75lbs! That's incredible!!!

#3424 unlimitedana Jul 18 2008 16:35

ana, where are you in the world? I'm jealous of your travel experiences. :) And I'm seeing "Dark Knight" tonight - I'm so excited!

I was checking out the analysis tools and I think I'm finally getting the hang of this CC thing... ;) I'm going to aim to check out the analysis tool every week to be sure I'm getting an average of 1400-1500 cals per day (right now I'm at about 1250 average for the past week and I don't think that's enough, which has me a little worried).

A couple co-workers and I are going to P.F. Chang's for lunch; I can't believe they eat lunch so late! We're not leaving until 1:30 and so I had my afternoon snack in the morning, lol.

And I have ridiculously violent hiccups right now. Like, cartoon-character hiccups. Tongue out

#3426 wannabepixie Jul 18 2008 22:09

Hi again, ladies! Did anyone else receive this message in their CC inbox? What do we think about this???

Hey there-

I've been reading the forum because I'm looking for some ladies to help me out. I'm an editor with First For Women magazine. We're working on some stories about body image and your posts are focusing on the kind of thing we're looking for.

First, we're doing a feature on body snark - the witty things women say if someone makes a rude comment about their body.

One staffer had an example from her mom, who was approached by a kid cousin with the question, "Why are you so fat?" Her reply: "Because I eat little children like you."

We're looking for anything dealing with unexpected, rude/out of place/uncalled for comments about your body, appetite, or anything affecting body image. Then, we want to know what you said in response. This will come out around holiday time so anything wintery/Christmassy/dinnertable-y is a plus.

Anything come to mind?

If not, we've got two other questions for any woman that would answer. We just need their contact info if they do answer.

1. Has a family member every said something nice (especially around holiday time) that left you uplifted, and enhanced your body image?

2. Has an event so horrible ever happened, something that demeaned you or made you feel down, that later seemed like a blessing in disguise? We're looking for women that have made it through hardships with their confidence energized.

If you could e-mail me directly at akuperinsky@bauerpublishing.com that would be great!

Thanks,

Amy

hearts, I figure part of it is weight.  I'm just cautious to think that's all of it because my family just has those sort of issues (and hubby has shattered discs in his back that sometimes slip and hit a nerve, making him very immobile).  I can't imagine some of the women I've seen with a very large cup size.  I feel bad for them, because I assume it's uncomfortable.

Pixie, that's very funky.  No, I didn't get it.  I'd be interested to see what others say in response.  And as to this:  Has an event so horrible ever happened, something that demeaned you or made you feel down, that later seemed like a blessing in disguise?  No, there has absolutely never been a time that it was a blessing.  I'm sure there may be some people, but I know most of the comments I've ever heard that demean people are just painful to people.

#3428 watchmeshine82 Jul 19 2008 00:08

I didn't get that either, pixie.  but, it reminded me to watch what i say PUBLICLY in the forums :D

#3429 sufferinghearts Jul 19 2008 05:21

ana-Thanks for the encouraging response and I am so happy that I was able to lose another pound today!  I worked really hard at it too..by working out and doing alot of cardio...

BLC: LW 330.6

CW: 326.2 (4.4 lb loss)

320 oz water and 2.5 hours of working out

It really kicked my butt these past two days.  But I feel good (and like resting with no working out today!)  So, I was looking at my weight loss chart and I can see a pattern of how I lose over the course of a month period.  Least during TOM and the most about this week.  And I'm almost at my next goal of being under 325!  Can you tell I'm a wee bit excited??

#3435 watchmeshine82 Jul 19 2008 19:30

oh, i did my exercise for the week and then some btw.  should have been clearer about that!

I had a very emotional week and I'm an emotional eater, got nothing done! Sorry team! So depressing............................Cry

#3438 wannabepixie Jul 20 2008 02:14

boots, don't be too hard on yourself - I don't know for sure, but I'd be willing to bet you're not the only emotional eater on the forum/site!

I had a TOTAL cheat day yesterday - happy hour, bowling, karaoke... It was intense. I'm very surprised that I didn't "revisit" all the random stuff I drank! Good news is that I was able to get right back on track today - a true test for me - and I'm pretty proud of myself.

I also went to the gym today and did a bit of cardio & weights - I'm planning on hitting up the pool tomorrow morning, do some laps and treat myself to the hot tub afterwards.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well! And good job on the BLC everyone!

#3439 jldrager Jul 20 2008 04:07
Hello, just checking in for the BLC.

Last week: 179 Today: 176.2

That's almost three pounds, but I don't think this is an accurate weight. I will probably not lose any next week or gain back some. I've been mildly sick all week and not eating much so I wouldn't be surprised to see a re-gain.

I went and saw 'The Dark Knight' and thought it was really good. I'm totally blowing my calories today, but will try and do better tomorrow. The fiance and I ate at the Olive Garden tonight and I went overboard AND had a ton of popcorn at the movies, but I honestly can't remember the last time he took me out on a real date, so I just can't make myself feel guilty about it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
#3440 watchmeshine82 Jul 20 2008 05:44

I had a lot of fun today and yet I did not eat well at all.... went to a friend's for a BBQ.  ate a hamburger and 2 hotdogs and 2 pieces of cake and 2 cookies.  granted, had a small breakfast and a small dinner to compensate knowing i'd eat bad but still.... twas bad :(

had so much fun with my friends though and walked 2 miles and then hung out with a pal afterwards as well so all in all, i'm pretty happy but i'm also mad at myself cuz i will def not get down to a 14W let alone a 16W at this rate.  then again, it's my TOM so i'm craving bad food!
