Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?

Ok, so I want in on the fun too! My name is Jess. I was overweight as a child, then lost a lot of weight as a teenager, and was pretty healthy. Then in college, I got sick. The doctors didn't know what was wrong and I struggled with it for probably six years. I was having terrible pains in my right side, and it got to the point where walking across the room would often make me collapse. I also developed huge cysts on my ovaries. The pain made it very difficult to work out. I would try and work out on the days when I felt good, and working out would immediately land me in the emergency room. Most days, I would get up, go to work, go to the emergency room, and leave just in time to go to work again the next day. I was always on pain medication, and it just wasn't fun. I couldn't do much, and my quality of life was very poor, so I began to overeat. My weight got all the way up to 196 lbs. Then I finally met a doctor who was willing to do surgery to remove my cysts, and also to check things out while they had me open. Wink She discovered that I have interstitial cystitis, which is a condition where the inside of my bladder is cracked a full of ulcers. So, anything I did where I crunched or moved my abdomin too much would cause a new tear. Not fun!! Once I was diagnosed, we were able to start over. I spend a month in physical therapy, working on building the muscles so that I could essentially move again. Now, I am healthier than I have been in years. I've been on this site for a month now, and I just hit the 175 pound mark yesterday! Woo-Hoo. I am happy to report that I can work out everyday, and I haven't been to the emergency room in a very long time. I am trying to get down to the 135-140 pound range. It's a long way to go, but I feel like I've come so far already that I will get there.

Sorry if I shared too much. I just figured I would throw my whole story out there.

late again :)

limited internet access too.  had to turn in my laptop from my old job so i still have to buy my own so i'll have a computer at home.  anyway, quickly i'm pretty much plateau'd but it's mostly my fault.  i'm hanging strong around 137 but got down to 136.2 at one point.  it's hard - been eating out lunch daily, but working out too.  i need more time!

take care all gotta run

Dementoid I am loving the biggest friggen looser!

Char what you weigh this friday and the next doesnt matter as long as youre making good choices and habits. Sometime life gets in the way, dont worry about it.

Kelly good job and congrats to your sister! did she have a boy or a girl?

Wow Jess that sucks, but Im glad to hear youre doing better and getting healthy again! Thanks for sharing.

Brook take a deep breath. Always make time for yourself.

Weigh-in day!

 I had a decent week.

Last week: 179.5

This week: 178.0

A pretty decent loss, but darn it, I've been at 178.0 since MONDAY! No fluctuations all week. I find it hard to not get frustrated when that happens. But overall, I need to focus on the fact that it's a good loss, and I'm still making progress. Oh, and I hit a total of 25.5 pounds down this week too! (I'm celebrating every milestone I can!!)

Great Job Joelle

Last week 139.4

This week 138.4

Though I have met my goal I'm not ready to stop counting calories yet but I promise myself I won't intentionally go under 130. I mean I want to eat regularly but if I think about how may calories are in it, I force myself not to go over the deep end. I guess I just feel like if I don't have to log/count the calories I'll just go bizzurk. I'll probably be ready to stop counting in a couple of weeks

Well I am up a lound this week : (

It's my fault though. I had pizza last night. Yummy wedding soup and 3 glasses of vino. My fingers are all puffy today.

so here we are again. another weigh in day. here's mine:

SW: 320 lbs.

LAST WEEK: 277 lbs.

TODAY: 272 lbs.

LOSS: 5lbs.

TOTAL: 48 lbs.

i guess i did really good this week. the scale didn't move much until the past two days. it's weird how i think i'm not losing much, but then i check my post from last week and see that i have lost 5 pounds. i didn't go to the gym at all this week, so i am surprised about my loss. also, i am now sick. so we'll see how this goes.

anyways, that is all for now. keep up the good work everyone. and happy friday.

So, I had been weighing in on Mondays before, so it hasn't been a full week since my last weigh in....

Monday 175.8

Today 175.2

Goal 135

It's a long way to go, but at least I'm making progress....Undecided

Good job guys! Here's where I'm at.

Start weight 196.5

Last week 175.5

This week 175

Goal 125

Total Loss 21 and 50 to reach my goal.

It seems like I'm stuck but i haven't gotten back to exercising yet. So I need to get a move on here. Summer is comming plus our friends wedding. Its been so nice out lately. So Im going to start the 12 week exercise program all over again since its been a couple weeks or more. Any takers??

Good luck for next week people!!! And heres a quote for you!

Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.
Wayne Dyer

ooh, good quote

Sorry, long time no post, was "off" this past week but only gained 0.5lbs ... seems my healthy eating habits are becoming ingrained and I'm eating OK without trying too hard.

But I'm going grocery shopping later today and getting all my meals planned out for the next week so that hopefully I can avoid being fed by other people and actually see a loss this time around. And ... maybe even exercise?  Or is that too ambitious :p

I know you can do it vegetariangeek! I did it! lol. I exercised today..only 25 minutes of cardio but its a start. I felt really good during my work out, i forget how much fun I have lol. I have a gazelle and its set up in my living room infront of a mirror, so I listen to music and dance and sing to myself with dramatic faces. Something I would never do at a gym.

Kirsten, that's hilarious! I've also been known to act a bit goofy when working out in my basement. I think it makes the time go by faster. And it's fun :)

for sure! and I got off work at 2 last night and started this morning at 830 so Im not going to work out today, I am beat! But right back at it tomorrow!

Here's my weigh in for Friday:

last week: 158.2

This week 156.4

Don't know how the rest of this week is going to go for me. Had a horrible weekend...My dog got hit by a truck....so my eating has been not been going well this weekend, although i guess i haven't been eating too much....going to try to push everything even harder and just concentrate on my diet and exercise...also moving this weekend so that should keep me quite busy....Goal is 144 if not less. I'm giving myself 3 months to do it. Really hoping that I can do it!! :D

Thanks Kirsten ... I did some dancing ... to Christina Aguilera, I have to confess!

Char, so sorry about your dog, that's so sad.

Oh, AND I finally bought myself some weights to work on my arms at home.  5 and 7lbs.
I thought I was alone in my singing and dancing antics. Cool Whatever gets me through the workout. Laughing
hahaha I thought I was the only one too!! ahaha my boyfriend thinks Im crazy. But if i dont enjoy it, I probably wont do it. Simple as that. Good for you Vegetariangeek! I use 3lb weights and do about 12 reps and 2 sets depending on the exercise. I slept really late today so Ill have to work out after work tonight. No excuses!!! And good job Char! Keep it up.

I too am a big "dancer in the gym" As soon as I'm done doing my cardio and start doing my weight training, I'm snapping and shaking my head and all kinds of stuff.

Weigh in last week 138.4 this week 139.4 Maintaining.

Last week: 151.8

This week: 150.4

I lost 1.4 pounds!  Yay!!!!
