| Missing Son, Prayers Please | ||
| Sep 07 2007 07:30 | ||
| EDIT: Chris went missing September 3rd 2007, here is a link to his web site, please let everyone you know know about this. Thank you.
www.FindChris.org I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here. Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive too cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too. This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before. The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances". This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst. My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do. I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things. Prayers are definitely welcome. Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything. Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids... EDIT: Here is a link to the news paper artical. http://www.thespectrum.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200709 07/NEWS01/709070304 I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care. EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures EDIT: Here is a link to the web site http://www.findchris.org/ |

This boy needs to come home already!!! Gosh darn it! {{{hugs}}} all the hugs in the world from strangers cannot feel the void you feel right now. I am SO sorry you have to go through with this. I wish there was more we could do. *sigh* If I lived in the area I'd keep my eyes out for him constantly. He's safe tho. I just know it. |

I don't have a lot of time, although I don't have a lot to say either.
I just showed Dave all the candles. He too can feel your love and support. Thank you for lifting us up at this low point in our lives. ~Shannon |

Shannon,
I have been following your post, I wish you the best in finding your son. Just wondering... would he have gone to CA? I live in San Diego and I will pass this website out to everyone here. I am only like 1 hour from Riverside. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. |

| Everyone, don't forget to relight your candles and renew your prayers! They are only lit for 48 hours. I re-lit mine and moved it to the CC group, here's the link. | ||

Yesterday was quite an emotional roller coaster. A lady who doesn?t claim to be a physic, but just someone who is intuitive, came here on her own time and money and spent the weekend trying to help find Chris. She called us Monday before she left to tell us that she had been here and what she thought. We got together with her so we could talk. She felt he had gone off for a drive in the hills to the west of us, had car problems that caused a rolling accident and that caused his death. That's it in a nut shell, she was very kind and compassionate and spent a lot of time with us. She admitted that she has been wrong before, and not to give up hope trying to find him. She had lots of interesting phrases and numbers, it will be interesting to see if any of it pans out.
Within half an hour of her leaving we get a call from the police chief saying there has been a sighting of Chris in a small town a few hours north of us. The lady claimed that when she asked him his name he said "Chris". The police in that area are investigating it. So here we are still wondering what has happened and hoping that soon we will know something. I still have a cold and so physically I'm drained. I took a sleeping pill last night so I could sleep, but I'm groggy this morning. I'm taking my vitamin C and zinc hoping that will help. We ordered the T-shirts yesterday and hope to have them at the concert on Thursday. I need to call the media and remind them about the concert so hopefully some of them will cover it. It's hard keeping the story alive when we really don't have any new news. Thank you all again for keeping this tread going, it really is a great place for me to come and get support! ~Shannon |

A sighting is GOOD! I pray the lead brings Chris home ASAP! As far as the psychic, its likely from the siting that she was wayyyyy off on that one. I vote for the siting! |

Bump - Keeping you in our prayers!
Shannon, seems to me like the police wouldn't tell you about the lady if they didn't think it could be credible... Hang on to hope. Lord, I pray that you comfort Shannon and Dave and the rest of their family during this time, and that you turn Chris' heart towards home. Give wisdom to the searchers and hope in your Goodness to all those involved! |

Hang in there Shan, your strength in this is really inspiring and I hope the sighting proves to pan out with some useful information.
I mentioned this to my sister tonight and she said she saw it on TV as she knew about it already. She isn't a calorie counter so couldn't have read it here. That means a news station of some sort here in NY must have posted it or maybe Today show or something, could this be true? |

| Wow, all the way in NY? That's really cool! I'm from Missouri and I keep thinking about Shawn Hornbeck who went missing in 2002. From the 2002 to 2007 every time someone went missing in Missouri (or around MO) his family would help the other families anyway they could all in the name of Shawn Hornbeck. That kept people's mind on Shawn. There were still pictures of him at the post office for over four years. We were reminded of Shawn all the time. I don't know how is parents were able to keep his picture and name out there, but if Shawn could be found so can Chris. | ||

| I've lit a candle for you and your family Shannon. That lead sounds hopeful! I always get so frustrated when people "see" the missing person. I feel like if I saw someone I believed to be missing I would be following them until the cops could get to us, not just letting them go away | ||

Today is the one month mark of when Chris went missing...
The lead from the small town was not Chris, the police found the kid that was believed to be him, and it was not our Chris. I hadn't put a lot of hope into it, but Dave had and he crashed really bad when we got the call. We now have another lead, it's closer to home and may have evidence that Chris is being held against his will. Again the police are investigating it. I'm not going to even begin to hope until we have more proof. It hurts too much to have the bottom fall out of all these "leads". I'm still hopeful we will find him, I just can't put all my eggs in one basket so-to-speak. Dave and my dad are going out on 4-wheelers to look around the area in question. Some other guys are going too. Again some of the searchers are complete strangers that just want to help. I am contently in awe of the compassion and love people have in their hearts. I can tell I've hit depression levels, as I don't want to do anything, go anywhere, see anybody, I don't care about a lot of things. It's hard taking care of the other children. Luckily they are all old enough to mostly take care of themselves. They can all get themselves up, fed, and ready for school without me. And the oldest at home is getting really good at figuring out what to make for dinner as Dave and I are running around doing everything else. So that is how things are today. M3lody, thank you for your humor, I laughed out loud ~ I needed it, I too vote for the sightings! Thank you for your continued support. I've tried to look at some of your profiles as this has been going on to get to "know" you a bit better too. You are all amazing people, Thank you for helping a "stranger", what good Samaritans you are! THANK YOU!!! ~Shannon |
