Jellical - you sound like you had some pretty positive things goin' on with you yesterday. That's great! Hearing good thiings from other people help too, doesn't it? I'd say we were twins, but I'm 9 (soon to be 10) years older than you. I'll be anxious to see your progress and hear all your good reports. You can share your bad reports if there are any, too. Then I can pray for you and "feel" your misery with you.

Jessicarm - you probably just eat chips in the car because you're bored and it's a bad habit. Try to find some healthier alternatives to cut the calories, but allow yourself the habit of snacking in the car. Cut up veggies, dried fruit, berries, etc would be great. Or a healthy type of popcorn might satisfy that crunchy, salty craving.
#323 texasteach Aug 02 2007 18:31
I just ate in the car myself!!!

One of the things that stops me.. is I"m a total SLOB... but I LIKE things to be neat... so I clean out the car...  (okay, so I have it cleaned)... and I want to keep it that way, so I don't like to eat in there... but that's a little crazy!   *lol*

I also agree with others who say go ahead and snack... on the way home from the gym I got beef jerky and celery.. yes, yes... full of sodium... but better than McDonald's drive through... takes a LONG time go chew... and gives you that FULL feeling.
#324 jessicarm Aug 02 2007 20:35
I will try the beef jerky... it is flavorful and you're right... a looonnggg time to chew.... Better than what I have been eating....  I feel like eating is a compulsion.  I know I shouldn't, but I feel like I can't help myself.  I am at the beginning of this battle. I have improved a little.  In the past few days I haven't eaten in the car every time I was in it.  I kid you not.

And think of the money I could save....

Thanks, ya'll.

Where is everyone? It seems as though we've lost some momentum. Tomorrow is my weigh-in day. I hope I will recoup the weight I put on last week. It was a bit discouraging but it didn't deter me from sticking with my plan.

Hope all is well with everyone. Talk to you soon! Ü

hey everyone, sorry havn't had much time to post or even check in lately and it don't really look like that will change for a month or so, just so busy and I am going to be moving in september so now every extra minute is devoted to packing, hopefully after everything settles down I will be able to find more time to be active on here. but on the good news side I broke the 300 mark weighed in today at 299 and this is a "fat" week LOL so I'm excited. hope everyone else is doing well also.
#328 clwhit Aug 04 2007 05:08
Congratulations, Rtd. Keep up the good work!

I am ONE pound away from my first goal!!!!!! (to lost 10% of my body weight).

I lost 2 pounds overnight though, after yo-yo-ing all week. I'm a little worried that it's going to shoot right back up again.

BUT for now, I'm happy. If this sticks, I've lost 26 lbs since June 11th!  =)

So much good news!   HOw exciting!!!

Way to go reb and rtd... I remember that 300 pound mark going further and further in the distance!   that's the best thing EVER

I had a complicated food day yesterday... My hubby took the day off work (He's been working 90 hour weeks for a LONG time... had a deadline on a big project)

and took me on a day trip... YAY!...

So we went to some wineries first:  calories

Then, he wanted German food for lunch... Uh oh!!!!!  I challenge you to eat healthy German food...  but you know, since this is a LIFESTYLE change for me... and not a diet... I can't be a complete freak about everything... so I ate a lot of sauerkraut... and half of a sausage... th at's as close as I could get to healthy...

But then...  (cue horror movie music)... we went to a bakery... Oh goodness... the woman who owns this bakery has written several cookbooks... her stuff is GORGEOUS... and I am a key lime pie FANTATIC...

Sweet, wonderful hubby got a peanut butter bar... but I just HAD to try her keylime pie...

I didn't do badly, actually... ate less than half the piece...

But I was DEFINITELY out of dinner calories for the day...

Then, went over to my brother's house... drank more there... (although the only food I partook in was cherries)

Anyway.. it ended up being a 2700 calorie day... (and I aim for between 12 and 1700... but I try to look at weekly calories even more closely than daily...  I'm a little over for this week (1900 average) but not so bad when I burn an average of 589 calories a day working out... right!!!)

Anyway... long story short... TOO LATE FOR THAT... I lost a total of 1 pound this week... (.8 of those pounds gone this morning even after key lime pie yesterday...)  so good!

I am back from vacation and had a wonderful time!

I lost 2.5 lbs yea! I ate heathy most of the time lots of fruit and fresh veggies lean meat and whole grains!

I also climbed to the top of a light house and toured (walking) a historical village! I am proud of myself;.)

Welcome everyone new. It will take me awhile to catch up.

humorpam- I read the book "The Forever Young Diet & Lifestyle" Very interesting and makes a lot of sense.

Hi twin clwhit! I see you are doing better.

Lorabear- Wow! lost weight on vacation that is great.

Well I have a BBQ to go to today so I think that I am not going to try and restrict myself too much I want to enjoy myself.
#333 texasteach Aug 04 2007 18:16
That was my thought yesterday, too trapp... that I wouldn't be a NUT or binge... but I ate 2700 calories.. and I'm good with that...

Be sure you keep drinking WATER all day... it'll keep you more satisfied... and you'll be doing something with your mouth *just a suggestion*

but good to PLAN it now, so you don't feel guilty about it later!  It' all about lifestyle, right?  Not a diet!   Enjoy your BBQ!

Welcome back, Lorabear! Missed you. Congrats on the weightloss, even on vacation. Sounds as though you had a great time.

Congrats to reb and rtd, too! Losing 10% of you body weight and getting below 300 lbs are something to be proud of. Way to go! Ü

Trapp, you'll do fine at the BBQ. I was at one three weeks ago and all was well. You'll know if you're overdoing it or not.

I had much better success this week. Continued true to my plan and low and behold I'm down 3 lbs! Much relief after that 5 lb gain last week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Talk to you soon.

Didnt even look for a site like this. figured id post what and how i did it. Basically my New Years resolution last year was to drop wieght. I swore i would as i hit the floor before the ball did. lmao. long night of drinking ;-D Im 6'3" i think slightly taller know. but i started at 432 based on the gnc scale since the scale i had started out at 400pds and said "error" when i got on it. i did a diet i got from a friend who got it from a dictor. from what i heard its an air force diet. loose 10pds in 3days, food on it isnt exactly great but i got used to it. loose 40pds a month, totally possably but i usually dropped 20-30pds a months just because i fluctuated on certain days. lmao. i also took hydroxycut hardcore depending on the day and what i had planned usually 2 in the morning before i went to work did the trick for the day. Damn things are loaded with caffien. See where im going with that one there. but id take them liek 2 or 3 days then stop taking them for a 2 days or every other day. i just recently stop takign them liek a month ago just so i was addicted to them, plus my energy level is about equal to me take hydroxycut so no sence in takign them know. I also joined the gym and started doing cardio. I made the istake of picking of the wieghts when i hit 275 a week and half ago and jumped up to 290 and just got my self back down to 275. Im going to keep going till i hit 250  to see what i look like. since im big boned i guess is what ppl call it that prob my max i could go. maybe. seriously considering joining the navy or army when i hit 250. up in the air since im 24. i didnt notice alot of loose skin yet. i see some on my tricepts but i figure i could make my arms huge to fix that with wieghts but im still waiting on my stomach to see how that goes. finally starting to see that get sucked in for th epast week. ill prob post some before and after pictures eventually.

Well had blast at the BBQ. Did not do too bad on the eating. But the drinking was a different story. But I logged everything and even with the drinking I was still under 2000 calories so not bad. I did weigh myself for kicks and I was up a pound but I am sure that is water weight from the drinking so I am not going to take it too seriously.
#338 clwhit Aug 05 2007 18:48
Glad you had a good time at the BBQ, Trapp. You did good!

Hi all, I'm new here and stumbled onto this message thread. I want to bring some cheer to those over 300, I once was. (So ladies it can indeed be done!) I was actually 330 and now I'm 257, and struggling at that weight. I'd like to be from 150-180ish and it would be nice to have some friends on here to help motivate!

Thanks!

Mel
