I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

Hey Everyone!  I'm so glad I found this site!  I just started SI6 two days ago and really really REALLY have to stick it out for the full 6 weeks because I'm going on a cruise at the end of april!  yay!  My biggest challenge is finding the time in between studying and classes...and also finding time to sleep so i can be awake for tests!  haha  But I'm extremely motivated...I've been doing south beach for over a week now (I did it in the summer and lost 15 lbs that i've kept off, but now want to lose more before vacation!)  Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the motivation to keep going!  Keep up the good work everyone!  :)
Well, girls, I don't know if you are luckyor if I am the lycky one, but I'm living in a world with no Starbucks (can you believe it?). So I have no idea how may cals, temptations and so on... In a few minutes time I will upload some photos from mt latest business trip. So if you want to see some pictures with Romanian mountines during winter, be my guests! Congrats on your workouts. I have to confess I skiped my workout yesterday, but today I'll be on top of it! Question: I want to ask my friend from USA to buy me another video. I'm not sure if I want TJ or Billy's Boot Camp. Anyone here tried them both? Or has an advice for me? Thx.
I have boot camp, just got it.  Can be hard to follow... He can be hard to understand... but I am giving it my all because I just bought it and need to get my money's worth!  I know Beachbody makes TJ and from what I see in SI6 they make a good series with proven results...  QVC website actually sells TJ, not sure how much it is, if it would be a bargin or not...   Tart uses TJ she likes it alot... I am sure she will offer up some great advice, as she always does!

I think I OD'd on fiber, add that to my period and I am not a pleasant gal right now.  Gas to the max, cramps are killer... got 2.5 hours sleep and my kids are crazy...  looking for that Midol I bought last year... like I could ever find it when I actually need it!  UGH!   I am going to get my buns in gear hopefully early this afternoon and sweat with BIU and maybe try out boot camp abs...
I am using TJ now. It is a good variation with SI6. One is faster than the other. TJ has more varieties in the routine. So if I have more time to workout I usually go for BIU. If I short on time, I either do 20-30-40min calorie burn from TJ.

I think TJ is not that difficult to follow. Granted it is not as easy as SI6, with the jumping, punching, and kicking.
You can just get the Learn & Burn DVD, it has a section for learning the moves and get used to them. Then Burn - where you apply the basic moves (16min). Then 20min Workout - time crunch calorie burn. Then Turbo Sculpt (40min) - I love this set. It is purely strength training for 40 min! Even kick my hubby's butt.

If I want only weight training, go for Turbo Sculpt - i.e. on days I only want to do weight training instead of cardio.

If I want to combine both cardio and weight training, I go for BIU.

The intensity of the TJ workout depends on how much power & energy you put into the routine.
Happy Wednesday everyone...I didn't think i would work out last night but after class my husband was ready to work out.  We worked out from 9:30-10:30pm.  No time is a bad time i keep telling myself.

Thanks for the starbucks support - I agree that it is merely a habit which is one of the reasons i'd like to get off it.  I did NOT stop this morning - instead i came to work and had some oatmeal and water.  I'm feeling very happy about that.  I think i might give myself that coffee on the weekend.  My problem is that i don't like coffee - so i have to get the high calorie items.

I don't eat sweets too often and I stick to my vegetarian diet.  I never eat/drink dairy - i do go for a bit of soy however.

Good luck to everyone today!!
Hey!  Well I completed my third SIU this morning...and I have to take a day off tomorrow because I have a test in the morning that I still need to do quite a bit of studying for tonight and early tomorrow morning and then write a paper tomorrow night....so I figure tomorrow would be a good day for a rest day...and then I'm going to start my RIU days on Friday morning!  I'm excited to move to the next level!  yay!  haha  Anyway I hope everyone else is doing well and working hard!  Keep it up!  :)  anyway i'm off to studying....
aly and sweet_tart, thank you for your help. I think I'll ask my friend to buy them both! If I do not like one of them I might as well giving it to someone else....Too bad I have to wait until I get them here...I'm sorry I wasn't thinking at this earlier.

If I follow the calendar as strictly as possible, tomorrow is my last day of BIU/Si6. So there are 42 days since I started. In total, I took 7 days off (but 3 of them in the last week). I lost almost 3 inches around my waist, 3 inches around my hips and 2 2/3 inches around my bust. I did not consider neccessary to measure myself in all the other areas (claves, arms, etc) but I know for sure I lost at least half an inch on all parts... My face looks different, I fit into clothes I kept just as a memory of my good times (Two days ago I was dressed with some pants I loved sooooo much. I bought them 10 years ago and kept them ever since. LOL). My wedding ring is large now! And my engagement ring too...I will not stop now. I will go on with BIU (until TJ and Boot camp will arrive). Hope to still see results....
Good Afternoon Everyone...

I did my BIU for today, I started off with Boot Camp Abs.  It was a good 30 minutes... I still love Six Pack! I will alternate the two.  My baby belly is looking more and more like pre-baby belly minus the few random stretch marks!  I have about 2 1/2 months til Punta Cana, plenty of time to lose lbs and inches. I am thrilled that I am so committed and determined to make the changes I need to get my body into the shape I desire!  No turning back now!  Bikini... Bikini... Bikini..., that is what I keep telling myself... I want to take lots of pictures and not get that yuck feeling when I look at my body.
Got my Slim in 6 Yesterday... and read everything! So I figure.. I'll do my fasting now.. so I have work to pull me away from getting tempted to eat something... did anyone else fast? I started this morning.. and I'm sooOOoOOoO hungry.. I miss food. I miss food so much... I caught myself drooling for a cup of coffee. :(
The first time I did the series I did not do the fast, was breastfeeding.  The second time (this time) I just jumped right into the routine the day after I started my calorie count.  I am not a huge fan of fasting!  Really hard for me esp since it seems like all day long I am preparing food for someone in one way or another!

It is great that you are doing it right by the "book" you are certainly going to seee your results! Be prepared for a few days of burning, soreness.  But that passes really quick... don't let it discourage you, keep at it!  In no time you will look forward to popping that DVD in!  6 weeks!  Alot can happen/change in 6 weeks!

I'm new to CC as of today and am planning on losing 48 pounds by 11 September--my 50th bday!!! I just saw the slim and 6 on TV this morning and am glad I came on here...I am ordering it today!!

Wish me luck everyone!!
alydaven - Thanks for the sweet words. I hope I will see results. The girls at work at trying to do the whole pill thing.. and I can't do that.. I hate pills as much as I hate taking shots (needles *cringes*). I figure if I do it by the book then it has to be fool proof.. right?! *crosses fingers*

winonas1 - welcome! I'll  be here to cheer you on! Good LUCK!
Welcome, winonas1 :)
Also remember that this program gives you result, although you may not see the scale budges in the beginning. Good Luck!

pie - Wow, you are doing it by the book! Cool! Hang in there girl, and good luck!

Just wanna report that I have been working out, just didnt have the luxury of time at the moment to do BIU. :)
Welcome, ladies, to Si6! Good luck with your endeavor! You will find Si6 rewarding if you stick to your plan.

pie- go by the book only if you know for sure you have the mental strength to keep it that way for 6 weeks. If you are not so sure, a very restrictive start might get you off the track later. Good luck and don't forget to try to have fun...
It is awesome that there is new ladies making the commitment and starting roughly abou thte same time... You will always have the support of SI6 veterans!  I know I will always be posting in this thread, looking for motivation, posting results and offering up all the encouragement that I can possibly type! :)

I just got a call from my mom and she needs help bailing water out of her basement... so I am not sure if I am getting in a DVD today but lugging water up stairs must count for something!

Rain Rain Go Away!

winonas1 you have made a great choice!  You will be looking HOT for your 50th Bday!
monix - You know you are right. Cause right now.. everyone wants to get sushi.. and right now all that's running through my head is..

"It's just sashimi... it's a piece of raw fish... it won't be that bad..."

OMG! And I don't want to go with everyone and not eat anything! *sighs*.. I want to hang out with my office friends for lunch, but I don't want them to think I'm a freak going with them to the sushi bar and not ordering anything. Should I even go? GAWD! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!
*sorry, ladies, long post**

pie: you know for sure there's nothing wrong with you! Let me tell you about my approach: I decided that all I am interested in is to eat around 1300 cal per day. Nothing more. Since I expenditure is around 2100 cal this will give me the right deficit. And of course, those 1300 cals should not be (all) from chocolate for example... There were days when I went up to 1500 (or even 1900) and then come back to 1300 again. If I wanted to eat chocolate (since I made it an example earlier) I would eat 1 square (weight it and add it in my food log honestly). I did not deny myself any type of food as long as I had only SMALL portions (and I really mean small)- just to get the taste! To give you another example: my colleagues are ordering in cookies (all kind of desserts). I usually take one very, very small piece (5-10g maybe) and that's it. Of course, the vast majority of food comes from healthy foods! This way I was able to resist for almost 2 months (I started on 9th of January) and I have no problem going on. I do not have the BEST results ever, but I have STEADY ones, with little negative impact on my motivation.

I strongly believe that we should have fun and live...normal lifes while trying to get fit! If we do not enjoy ourselves we will soon give up. Last time I tried to lose weigh following a drastic diet I found myself visiting the fridge at night. "What a hell! There's no one to see me!" This time I allowed myself some small "get aways" and everything is just fine. So, I guess is a trade off...Anyway, I really, really understand your dilema...and (sometimes) frustration. Been there..done that... unfortunately. Good luck!
wow, so much info here, I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a copy this weekend and join in :D

What a great community! I am starting Si6 on Monday, and would love some advice as well as hear your success stories (for those of you who have been using Si6 for a few weeks or entire 6-week session).

I am a breastfeeding mother of a 2-month old, so I've got about 15 extra pounds to lose. I know the breastfeeding will help, but I've been at the same weight the past 7 weeks.

My questions for you all:

1. I'm 5'9" and would like to know about how many calories you think I should be eating considering I'm breastfeeding, but wanting to lose weight without harming my milk supply.

2. I saw Monix great success from Si6. Does anyone else have results they would like to share?

Thank you all! :-)
Jenny

Hi there and welcome to all the new members.

I am completing my 5th week woo hoo!  I actually did 2 weeks of SIU - 2 weeks of RIU and then went back to SIU for this week to have my husband catch up.  We are going back to RIU this weekend and then BIU.  I hope i'm not negatively impacting the routine.  I figure if you're working out and breaking a sweat it's ok.

I too am counting my calories and trying to stay with 1200-1300 per day.  I haven't lost any weight yet - but i'm pushing hard to get past the plateau stage that i've been in.  At some point something must kick in and start bringing you to the next level.

Jenny - I went to the my account area and entered in my info to get the recommended calorie per day count. If you enter all of your info there with the amount of weight that you want to lose it will give you a good idea.  You should definatley be eating more calories though for breastfeeding.  I know there is a lot of information out there from lactation consultants. I would check on that.  Just adding a work out alone should start helping your body get back into shape.

Congratulations on the new baby btw - :)

Sorry for my long winded message - one question I have...Are you all taking 1-2 days off per week or going for everyday?

Have a great weekend everyone.
