How to stick with this4ever ~ The most important thing is to find a healthy approach that works for you that you can enjoy for the rest of your life. Create your new lifestyle. Let's talk about how!
I've been flirting with Pizza & Chocolate :( Have been eating all my calories burned for the day or cutting back a little, but the urge to like eat a whole pizza is strong :\ and it's not ttom. it's stress :( bah. So even though the portion control is ok, the feeling is wild and out of control. Which for me is a red flag that I'm about to abandon ship and stuff my face. I reaaaaaaalllly want to push through that this time....
Hi Everyone! The family and I went to a family fun center this weekend and we had a BLAST!! For the first time in years I drove a go-kart. I fit into the go-kart!! I was soooo tickled. I beat the socks off my boys too. :) Now I just need to stay on track and keep losing this weight so that next summer when we visit again I wont exceed the weight limit on the bumper boats and I can ride those too!! (giggles giddy with excitement and anticipation)
Here's my want to do list:
1. See moogiesue's no.1. (I'm totally stealing it. Thanks!)
2. I want to be able to buy my clothes from any store (and not in the plus size section).
3. I want to be able to say that I lowered my cholesterol and blood pressure and that I'm no longer dependant on medications for those conditions.
4. I want to take a bubble bath in a regular sized tub and actually be comfortable enough to enjoy it!!
5. I want to lie with my son on his bunk-bed and not worry that it will fall in.
6. I want to sit in a swing at the park and swing 'til I'm sick! ( not just 'til my thighs can't take the pain of the metal hooks digging into them anymore.)
7. I want to go out in public and not worry that others are staring at me 'cause I'm fat but instead because I'm beautiful!!
8. There are so many! Let's start with these for now.
Bye you all! xoxoxo ~Corisa

{{{ladiva}}} ouch!!! how miserable! congrats on the 4 lbs. Hope you're feeling better and able to eat better soon.
ok, doing better and back on track today. The pizza monster has receded ~ lol
So hopefully I'm still able to join......'cause I'm stuck....
- Starting Weight (& day joined): 264, joined May 9, 2006 (but wasn't really serious about it until recently)
- Highest Weight EVER: Well, I was never into weighing myself, but I'm sure it has to be at least 300.
- Mini-Goals: 20 lbs 1st Goal Weight: 240 by christmas
- ULTIMATE Goal Weight: Not sure. I think I would be comfortable at 160...?
- Plan: Well I have started on a exercise routine...40-60 minutes of cardio everyday and light weight training 3 times a week. Eating is my downfall. Even typing this out my stomach is starting to growl but it is getting to be lunchtime to that makes sense. I just want to eat healthier and control my portions.
I have to second everyone's want to do list. Everything I read fits me. Can't wait to do it all!
Goldie - I've been craving pizza for about a week. And I'm talking the greasy cheesy kind. Haven't given in yet, but I can usually stop at 1 large slice or two smaller slices. I'm salivating. At least you know that water weight will disappear soon!
Ugh I've caught a cold or something and I feel miserable. No exercise for me yesterday and all the foods I ate were "comfort" foods. Bland food just makes me want to puke so I'm trying to find good alternatives.
Oh well back to bed for me I'm tired.
I loved your post and all your goals that you've set for yourself. You will be doing all those things in a breeze next year!
Hope you get well soon bimommah.
I've got a success to share today I've definitely and officially made it past my half way mark on my xmas ticker. I want to loose 40lbs by December 19 and I've lost 21lbs as of this morning! Hurray!!
Bigmommah, meh. don't ya hate it? I always want chicken soup & my mom when I get sick. comfort food, rest. feel better soon!
Savineyvr ~ Woot!!!! How exciting! WTG :)
I almost had my 1st 10 lb mini goal, but I zoomed back up 3 lbs today.
Question: When do you guys consider a lb to be lost? I mean, I go up and down like a bouncing ping pong ball, so even though I lose it, I tend to put it back on about 6 times before the bounce is lower? So, I'm not really sure when to start doing the whoopdy doopy happy dance on this 10 lbs.... cuz today it's only 7...
go4gold, are you weighing once a week?
=^..^= MOLLY
sabineyvr - sounds like you're going to make your goal! Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much sabineyvr! And, congratulations on passing your half way mark. Yeeeaaa!!!! I'm clapping for you. :) Keep up the good work!
bigmommag~ Ugh! I hate it for you!! All I ever want to eat when I'm sick is toast, scrambled eggs or chicken noodle soup. And I sleep A LOT! Hope you're better real soon! :)
go4gold~ I'm with ajjciir on this one. I only use my totals from my regularly scheduled weigh-in days to track my loss (or gain). Getting on the scale everyday and seeing my weight fluctuate as much as it does drives me crazy. As long as the numbers on the scale are steadily getting smaller I'm happy!
Hiiiiii jelly1134 (I say waving with a big smile :)) WELCOME!!
Everyone else~hello to you too! Have a good night. Talk to ya soon.
i weigh everyday and log it but I bounce up and down so much i don't really know when to call it actually lost. i always go down after ttom for a week or 2, and then I spike up to 5 lbs mid-month. Then POW! ttom and i zoom up 8 - 10 lbs, sometimes more if it's super hot or i ate salt :( Maybe I should just take it once a month and call it that?
Go4Gold: I only weigh once a month and I think it's how I stay sane...sometimes I want to give into temptation and occasionally will jump on a scale if I see one in a store just out of curiosity, but with once a month I don't have to worry about TTOM fluctuations (I too can gain about 5lbs pretty easily), or water weight, what time of day it is, what I'm wearing or if it's going to come back the next day. I also go to my doctor's to weigh and have my scale at home in the back of my closet collecting dust. Also nice to just drop 5-10 lbs a month instead of freaking out about every 1/2 pound, you get to see the big picture. Once I get closer to my goal or am at maintenance I will definitely use my scale at home to monitor my weight, but for me, right now, I want to concentrate on changing my behavior, not a number on the scale.
However, I know some people need to weigh every day or every week to stay on track, but I find myself letting a daily weigh in affect my moods, especially when it's TTOM, so just gave it up. Down 58lbs so far, but I'm taking it slow and steady.
Can I join as well?

athenah30: I know how you feel, at college I'm running up and down stairs, and the walk home from school is all uphill.. deadly! Don't be discouraged, you should be sooo pumped about your inches lost! That's awesome.. I need to lose inches off my arms, I'm jealous haha. I am about 17 grand in debt so far because of my education, sorry.. can't help you out!

This week I've plateaued. I'm sticking around 241-243lbs. The scale is all over the place, it frustrates me. I haven't had any time to work out lately, I've been FLOODED with assignments and tests this week. I stayed up until the ungodly hour of 1:30am today to finish this journal article summary for psych, and I was supposed to go to the gym at 7:30, but NO CHANCE after that, lol.
Today I have class at 12:30-2 then I have a huge freaking break until 4:30, then I have another class til 6. In past weeks I went downtown to work out on my break, but now I have to study for three tests coming up within the next week.
Because I'm not getting as much physical activity in during the day, I'm trying to eat less than my recommended 1700 cal/day. Yesterday I ate 1547, and I wasn't really hungry. I might change my eating regime to 1700 cals on days that I work out and 1500 on days that I don't. What do you guys think?
Anyway, I gotta get ready for class, happy Thursday everyone.
-Jenn
Hey guys... I'm down at least two more pounds this week to 273 (I stepped on the scale yesterday morning and it actually said 271, but I'm only counting the 273 cause that 271 ran far, far away and I haven't been able to quite capture it again). I weigh pretty much every day, several times a day, or just about every time I go to the bathroom. I'm curious to know how much it fluctuates, but I only really pay attention to the number in the morning. It also helps me remember that I have actually lost weight and moved from that top number. It keeps me on track and motivated to keep on working at it.
I've been sick too this week which equals eating more and moving less, but I figure it's only a little while in the grand scheme of things. I just hate getting out of that routine.
Congrats to everyone for keeping it up and welcome to the new members!
If you don't feel like your cholesterol is high, no worries, right? Wrong. High cholesterol gives no warnings and could be deadly.
