Clean Eating Challenge deejlb
  Apr 30 2007 22:09
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

************************************************

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

awww i was a day late and a buck short to be on the 'longest' list.  thats what I get for procrastinating lol.  But in the end, the only one left will be ME! :) I'm playin. We're all binge free winners.

I lost my 111th pounds today! What a neat number.  Right on the nose too.  woo hoo. So proud of me.

Hi Dee, I am 45 pounds from goal !! I just got serious on april 25th..then super serious on april 30th. Joined 2 weight loss challenges and this one to stay on track ... it is not easy!! I am chewing sugarless gum right now ... I promised myself I would stick it out as long as possible.. people here at work order out all the time .. i bring my own...my bf and i go out to dinner i have a salad..and watch him..I also bought yoga tapes and have been doing 20 minutes every am for the past 3 days ...something new..I will add an evening tape tonite. and i'm drinkin water like crazy so well see how it goes i'm in it for the long (yet fun) haul.  :)

Reset me.  I really fell off the clean eating wagon,  I was under 1200  after dinner and then I ate ice cream, a piece of crumb cake and half of a black and white cookie washed down with a lot of milk---no grey area there,  it was a cheat--didn't care just wanted immediate gratification.  I am so full I feel sick.  Tommorrow is a new day, I am running in a 5K so at least I know I have plenty of fuel and I will be able to push.    My goal will be to be clean until my next weigh in on May 31st.

wtg x17 that is so awsome. you are just melting away!

as for me another terrible food day and I need to resart tomorrow :{ sorry for the inconvinience.
#306 deejlb May 12 2007 00:55
I really love how active this thread is!!! Thanks guys!!!

Today is gonna be a perfect day, and I've intentionally made my cals a bit higher in hopes that I might jar something loose with the weight loss "powers that be" inside me.

Had some bbq'd chicken breast & steamed veggies, it was nice!

Still have to have my last meal at 7:30 & my ice cream treat, can't wait. I think that's where I went wrong yesterday, I was craving my treat early & ate it too early. Then I wanted more later on. Gotta put off the treat till as late as possible and then that works better.

*************************

x17star17x- ya, you're a day late for longest going but you'll still be up there. Congrats again on your huge milestone today!! You sooo deserve it!

pharmspice - way to sign up for the challenges, that for sure will keep you on track. I love that I have to update everyone's weights for the monthly challenge. It really makes me want to be sure I post a loss each week too! Sounds like you're doing sooo great wtih all the temptations around you, keep it up!

lrschwarze- okie dokie. Hey 9 days is super with no slip ups! You know, come to think of it, a lot of people I've reset made 9 days exactly too, hmmm, wonder why. Have a great time with your race tomorrow, you'll burn off that cake, cookie & then some!!

mabear - it's no trouble at all. Hope tomorrow's better for you!! you CAN do this!

Dee

thanks dee- I am gunning for a good day tomorrow too. I am having my self catapolted outa bed for my early morning work out and good thoughts and good food all day and if it gets to hard I'll  come and talk endlessly on one of these threads till my  gotta munch monster takes a flying leap! at least for a bit heehee. It may not be much of a plan but I gotta start somewhere!

Wish me luck everybody!  I am strictly on the honor system this weekend.  My husband and I are going to Portland to visit some family and we'll be eating out a lot ... I already learned that dinner tomorrow is a belgian-style restaurant that specializes in steamed mussels and french fries.  Hope they have salad!  It's going to be tricky, but I'm determined ...
#310 lysistrata May 12 2007 02:29
piecesofme - DEFINITELY the pita.  The samosa is likely to be deep fried and nothing but trouble!
#311 chanb73 May 12 2007 03:37
Day #12 and still clean.  My motivation is May 19 - I'm attending a birthday party, and going to have a 'free day' within limits.  But I'm sure I'll opt for a restart.  I think 20 straight days of clean eating is pretty darn good.  So I won't be faltering until next Saturday night  :)  Can't wait!!

I hope you all have a great weekend - and be strong!!!  We can do this thing!!!
#312 deejlb May 12 2007 03:51
Eating my skinny cow ice cream sandwich as I type (one-handed!). mmmmm

Perfect day for me, feels great & prayin the scale's down tomorrow.

Tonite will be very hard cuz we'll be up till at least 3:30/4:00 am!!! Most of you may not realize it cuz you're sleeping, but you get really hungry at that time!! So to not have anything will be nothing short of a miracle! Wish me luck!

********************

mabear- catapolted outta bed, what a great idea! You can do this, dont' let the gotta munch monster win.

piecesofme - I'd say the wrap, mostly cuz i have no idea what an indian samosa is! lol! Glad they have a healthy option for you! Say no to the great cookies you're bound to see!

lysistrata- good luck this weekend. Your determination will carry you through!

chanb73- yay!!! Day 12! wish I was still with ya! :(  You're an inspiration!! 20 days will be great for clean eating & by thenyou'll deserve & probably look forward to a free for all day.

I think I need a restart.  :( :(

I went home for the weekend, and there is literally no food in the house besides chocolate chips and sugar and flour.  Ewwww!

So my family ordered pizza (I hate pizza!), and to eat even enough to feel not hungry - not even full or satisfied, but not hungry -- I already went over my limit for today.

Arggggh that's so frustrating.  I was doing WELL, but going home makes it literally impossible to eat well.  Guys, I'm going to be home until Monday morning, and I don't have a licence, so I can't get to a store to buy real food.  I mean, we don't even have BIKES and the closest store is two miles away, and I can't carry bags back home because of my carpal tunnel.

What can I do?  I want to keep losing weight, it's unfair that my parents' poor choices affect my health.

Any ideas?  This really makes me feel guilty because there's nothing I can find to do about it.  I feel really bad about what I've eaten today.  I've probably eaten enough for TWO days of calories.  :(

#315 mabear32059 May 12 2007 13:50
Good morning. Well I think I had the timer set wrong on the catopult nad it did not spring me out of bed to around 6:45. I hate when that happens cause It sets my whole day off. any way so far so good no high cal stuff yet I am ontrack where eating goes So far. I am gonna walk for a while and try to not think about the last two days because Then I will feel guilty and what makes the guilt feel better??? A whole package of chips or 1/2 gal of ice cream. Got some home work to do for school so I should be pretty preoccupied today. Tommorows another story. My boyfriend and his brother is planning a mothers day cook out for me and their sister and a few more friends . This always spells trouble with a capitol T! he got a little upset when I told him I was making a huge green salad and responded chicken is good for you! I dont want to take the chance because they cover it in seasoned salt barbecue sauce and sometimes slasa. at least I know the salsa is not that bad. Then theres yellow rice whic is way off the chart for me cause not only is only a very small amount high in calories I love it and can't have only a small amount. so I guess I will make sure there is white rice on the side too. The only real good thing is there is gonna be alcohol and I don't drink! Thank god for even small favors huh? I am praying that they all get drunk enough to not realize all I am eating is  salad. oh well

Heres is too eating clean today!! ;}
#316 jochan1977 May 12 2007 14:03
I'm in.  I'm restarting (again) today, May 12.

Current weight: 208.4, size 18
Goal:  Healthy, smaller, stronger, and a bit lighter; size 12/14.

Edit: to receive reply notification.

Edit #2:  Clarification:  I'm restarting my DIET today, but I'm just now JOINING the challenge.
#317 chanb73 May 12 2007 14:45
This is day #13 for me - and it's just beginning.  But I'm more motivated than ever to stay clean, as I surpassed my 1st weight loss goal of 140, weighing in at 139.5.  This clean eating thing has really paid off!!!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone  :)
#318 mabear32059 May 12 2007 16:54
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY ALL!!!!! :p
#319 deejlb May 12 2007 22:35
Last night went good. I wasn't even hungry at 4am! Go figure! I guess I was mostly just tired & after getting home at 4 I ended up in bed by 4:45. I slept till 1:15 pm, but even though that was a solid 8.5 hrs (which I need) I still feel a bit off today. Although it's getting better.

Today's kinda odd, cuz I woke up so late, it'll be hard to fit in 4 meals. So insted of having a tuna sandwich with one slice of bread, I"ll do a 2-slicer & that will at least up my cals a bit from having to miss one whole meal. I'm at 1040, so that's not too low from myusual 1200.

Tonite might be harder, cuz it's earlier, we should be home by 1:30. I'll try to get my butt to bed by 2/2:30 cuz I have to get up & exercise tomorrow too.

****************************************

cerhiunnhn- that kinda sucks, sorry. Can your parents drive you to town to grab some food? Dont' know what else to suggest except just eat less of the stuff they make. if they include veggies in the meals, ask them to make extra & load up on those.

pharmspice- oh man, you actually get woken up by hunger! crazy. That would drive me nuts.

mabear - That darn catapolt! Yes, do not feel guilty & be driven to ice cream or chips! Just think of how much better you'll feel by not eating them. Good luck with your mother's day cook out. I don't drink either, so yay for us both!

jochan1977 - welcome & congrats on restarting your diet! Check in often & let us know how you are doing!

chanb73- Way to go girl!!!! You've so earned being at your goal! & hey, aren't you ahead of schedule now?? I mean with your goal date you had in mind?? Tha'ts sooooo awesome & I can't wait to talk to you! What a great motivator than to have reached your goal! Good luck with goal #2!

Dee
