Hey Everyone,
Well, here is it, a new challenge for those looking to lose 100+ pounds. I would like for everyone who is a first time poster to give a little introduction of themselves (include height, weight, age and anything else you would like)!
I'm hoping that this challenge can not only look at how we're doing in terms of numbers, but serve as a way to motivate eachother. If you had an extremely challenging week, let us know. If you found an awesome exercise or healthy snack food, let us know. If you have anything, good or bad, that helped (or hurt) your weight loss (and overall health for the week), let us know!!
I'm figuring the weekly template can be something like:
Starting weight/date: XXXXX lbs XXXXXX (for me, 298 lbs 12/18/07)
Weight last weight in: XXXXXX lbs
Weight this week: XXXXXX lbs
and then list challenges, good, bad, etc. afterwards.
I would love to say I would do points and keep a tally, but honestly, I know it will be tough to keep up with everyone's TERRIFIC progress!! Hopefully we can all take a look at this and celebrate everyone's successes together.
Our first weigh in will be January 7, 2008. Feel free to join whenever you like and give your introduction :-)

It's been a while since I last updated. Was going through the monthly bloating and stuff. But I finally got a number that seems right.
Starting weight: 208 lbs (01/20/08)
Last weigh in: 199.8 lbs (I think this is what is was when I last posted).
current weight: 196.8 lbs
That's a total of 11.2 lbs
I currently have a sinus infection and am not exercising to much.
Everyone is doing so well, keep up the good work.

Boo ya! Take that .2 that I gained last week. I showed you whats what, and all your little buddies. I need to eat better on weekends, but its hard when I am hanging out with friends, not to mention I am totally a bored eater and weekends seem really long. Ah well, I did fine this week, here is hoping for another good one!
Quick shout out to Imhoff for getting below the 100 lbs to lose mark not to mention losing the most last week with 3.2, awesome work!

Wow, great job jeremy! I guess last week was a fluke, and it shows in your incredible weight loss this week.

I really can't believe I lost any weight at all considering I was on vacation for 10 days and all I did was eat out and lay around all day! lol

I've lost 20.2 lbs! Can I tell you all how excited I am?? I probably could do a little better & loose a little more each week, but I'm okay with how I'm doing it. I'm not completely starving, nor am I worn out from working out too much. So I'm okay. You all are doing excellent! And I'm so excited to continue this on with such a great group of people & encouragers!!
My starting weight was 250, last week weight 220.8, this weeks weight is 217.2. A loss of 3.6 pounds and a total loss of 32.8 pounds.
I am so happy my BMI is now under 40%. I know I still have a long way to go but it has dropped a little over 5 % since I started so it is a good start. Great work everyone. It seems everyone is having a pretty good week.

*sigh* I feel so ashamed and discouraged but I am forcing myself to come in here because I promised myself I was serious about my weight loss this time around. I did report at all last week because I had gained back some of my weight and was too ashamed to come in and see it in writing.
I'm not sure what's going on really... like I've had a couple cheats, but nothing that was diet-shattering or over-the-top terrible. My boyfriend keeps telling me that maybe it's just muscle increase because I've been working out pretty hard, but I doubt it cuz my weight has been yo-yo-ing. I was 237.4 just yesterday, and I know I didn't eat enough to gain a lb in one day.
I just feel really discouraged. I am fighting 2 impulses - to either starve myself to lose the weight again, or give up and gorge myself. I know neither one is healthy and neither one will get me where I want to be. It's just so depressing because I was so close to 10 lbs... and so excited about it... and then to start gaining back... It's so disappointing.

I am so excited about lossing three pounds so far. Thanks for the welcome everyone. I think this is a greast thing to do. It will help us all stay motivated, and when we get discouraged others are there to help. groupiegirlnj i know its hard and you want to give up, but you've got to remember your goal. I had lost four pounds in three days and then the next day i gained 5 pounds. I was shocked and so depressed, but people on here made me feel better, and said that gain from one day to the next is normal, and it could be due to a number of things muscle mass, water retintion, etc. I am sure you already know all this, but I did too, and i still got depressed when I seen the weight gain, just remember to keep in focus, and keep sight of your goal.

I was at 249 Saturday and yesterday. I ate restaurant food for lunch and dinner on both days and I know I had tons of sodium because I woke up really puffy this morning. Being up 1.5 lbs in one day reminded me to keep the high-sodium choices to a minimum for heart health AND for more consistent weight loss results!

So much for the good numbers I seemed to have as of Friday (I was down 6 pounds at that point). No tracking over the weekend (or yesterday or today for that matter). I'm still not exercising. And (silly me) I've been buying peanut M&Ms for my desk at work. I thought I'd be ok since I didn't touch the plain M&Ms that were there before. I know it seems counter-intuitive for me to have candy on my desk, but it actually keeps me from snacking on bad stuff (if I fill the jar with just stuff I only sort of like). I convince myself that I can do without a sugary snack, but if I really want something I can have one piece from the jar in the afternoon. If I only sort of like what's there, then I have an easy time convincing myself that it's really not worth the calories. Ta-da - I've completely talked myself out of a sugary snack. Just doesn't work when the item in the jar is something that I can eat a whole bag of in a sitting without even thinking about it! I think that the peanut M&Ms will have to find a new home tomorrow. Unopened bags included. (you have no idea how tough that sounds! Wait, I bet many of you do - I'm not used to having other people to talk to about this!!) I'm just glad that there aren't any bags at home anymore...
So, goals for this week: give away the M&Ms (shouldn't be hard to find people to take them!), get back in the habit of 8 glasses of water a day, and walk for 10 minutes. (note that the exercise one is super easy - I figure if I make it ridiculously easy and I still don't do it, I'll be so embarassed that I'll do it right before I post on Monday so that I can say it's done!)
Hey guys!!! I haven't posted my weight for a couple of weeks due to being totally busy, but I have been tracking and exercising.....I cannot remember what I weighed in at the last time....but as of yesterday I was at 203lbs....which means I have hit the 30 lbs lost milestone!!!! (starting weight was 233 lbs)...and it feels GREAT!!!! In September, I was a size 18 and could barely button them.....today, I am comfortably wearing a size 12!!!!! I can't believe it!!!
Right now, it is TTOM and I am hoping to see even more weight gone when it is over since I usually retain several lbs in water during this time.
Great job, everyone.....we are doing it!!!

1 lb away from my next mini-goal! 1 lb away from my halfway goal of 60 lbs lost! It's so motivating to feel my new pants fitting a little more loosely, and the tight clothes fitting better and the smaller sizes in the store looking right. My old jacket is so baggy and I wanted to buy a new one this weekend, but as soon as I buy it, it will get hot! (LOL) Hopefully by next fall, I'll be able to buy a smaller size than now! I am so happy - thank you CC friends, for your support!

Can I let you all know that I have discovered yet another reason why I am not a fan of scales? Yesterday it said 306. Last night it said 313. This morning...308.4. Seriously, my scale is giving me a complex!!! :)
