| Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it. I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me?? There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!! All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date. A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this! Dee ************************************************ Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules: (let me know if I missed you) If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date. After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding. Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!! Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge. Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

Dee,
The lean cuisines have worked for me as far as losing weight. Ive lost 20 lbs so far and my lunches usually consist of lean cuisines and salads. My problem with the lean cuisines is Im sick of them. Ive had them so many times, that I just cant eat them anymore. Every day for the past few months I have had atleast one lean cuisine per day. Now, I cant even make myself eat them anymore. For this reason, I was looking for new, healthy recipes that maybe I can make for myself since the lean cuisines arent cutting it anymore. |

DEE! You're missed :) Still right on track. Tomorrow I get to go to my bfs bbq thingy and I'm thinking about exercising so I can eat and drink. See I'm afraid if I eat before his graduation that my stomach may go wacky if I drink that night. I'm scurrred! But I can SO do it within my calories while eating at the bbq, so let the party begin! |

| =( I need to have my dat restarted for tomorrow ! I am sad to report that I had 1 key lime frosted sugar cookie and then the next thing I know I was holding the empty box in my hand saying D@#@#! I shouldn't have done that. I am a liitle depressed cause I been resisting them ALL DAY! oh I can have just one Forgeting that key lime and lemon are two of my absolute favorite flavors. Don't know if I should skip dinner to try to have some kind of salvage of all my hard work or not , It is spinach stuffed rigatoni W/ tomato&garlic sauce and fresh Italian bread. I am so bummed but I will be stronger 2morrow for this mistake I know it. Sorry to let everyone down!! :{ | ||

Mabear, don't skip dinner. You made one little mistake, just be happy knowing you'll be back on track tomorrow. Plus, dinner sounds pretty healthy, yeah? I'd say take a very small bit of the italian bread, so you can get the taste without a bunch more extra calories. And good job so far! You shouldn't punish your body because you made a little mistake. Learn from the mistake and make tomorrow a great day full of healthy choices. :) You can do it. |

| Back on track and clean today, despite a cookie situation at work that was very tempting! I allowed myself one instead of my usual yogurt & banana afternoon snack so the calories worked. Raisin bran for breakfast, leftover mung beans with carrots & brown rice for lunch, and for dinner I'm making mashed potatoes with vegetarian chickpea gravy (don't knock it, it's fantastic!) and a bunch of steamed broccoli. I'm not even looking at those leftovers in the fridge and I've directed my husband to take care of them for me. ;-) | ||

Did I cheat? What do you guys think?? Today I had a granola bar that wasn't budgeted into my calories. I usually stay around 1200 and the bar put me at 1328. At the time I felt a bit guilty but I don't now that I see I'm still only at 1328. Some days I'm a bit higher than 1200 but as I said, I did not "plan" to eat it today.
Let me know, if you think I should, I'll reset my date. ************************* gabpco - welcome, let us know how you do K? angelvk630- oh I see, you're sick of them. There are other companies that offer different kinds too, have you tried any of those, or are you sick of frozen dinners altogether?? x17star17x - you miss me hey? awww, that's sweet. I think I posted like 2x already today! lol! Good luck at the bbq thing. Hey, btw, where do you keep your cals aroudn? piecesofme- good luck at the school mayfair. avoid the hotdogs!! lol! Maybe someone will have a healthy "baked" thing to sell :) mabear- oh darn! It's soooo hard to stop at one. That's why when something good is in the hosue, I have my hubby hide them and only give me my "ration" for the day! lol! It's silly but it works!! And sorry, I know it's bad, but I had a little giggle when you said "the next thing I know I was holding the empty box in my hand saying D@#@#! I shouldn't have done that". You did not let us down, btw. The great thing is that you didn't let the whole rest of the day go the way of bad eating after you did it. A lot of people (including me) have done that after a cheat, you just figure, oh well the day is screwed, might as well eat more. I'd just have your regular dinner & start fresh tomorrow. lysistrata- sounds like you have a yummy menu planned tonight!!! Way to get your hubby to take care of the tempting left overs too!!! Dee |

| I buckled yesterday. I feel so guilty but I know that won't turn the clock back. So today's a new day...! Keep strong all x | ||
| #292 | May 11 2007 12:04 | |
| Dee--I did the same thing yesterday, I went a bit over 1300, but I have been doing alot and it was with 1 TB of natural peanut butter and a glass of skim milk. When I thought about it I realized that cheating to me would be cookies, chocolate, donuts, french fries, you get the picture. So if you reset yourself, reset me too. While I did go over the 1300, I don't feel I cheated and I decided that I will plan out what I am going to eat today to stay at 1200. | ||

Dee, I don't know if you do this already or not, but have you considered giving yourself a calorie range? I know some days I just NEED to eat more -for energy or because I'm staying up late and need to concentrate, etc... So when I eat between 1200-1500 calories, I'm still in a deficit range, and I don't feel guilty if I eat a little bit more on days that I really need it. I really don't think that constitutes as cheating. You've still got a deficit, and 1328 isn't a huge amount over 1200, so I think you are still going strong! Same for you, lrschwarze, I don't think you cheated. Like you said, cheating to you is all of those not-so-good-for you foods, and you chose small amounts of healthy foods and didn't go so far over 1200. I'm still going, and I think everyone is doing a terrific job so far, regardless of restarting or not. Keep it up everyone :) |

| Yeah I've been doing the range thing too... because some days I am REALLY, REALLY hungry and some days not so much. I have been clean so far within my range 1200-1500cal but my weight isn't decreasing as much as I would like (about 2lbs total in 2.5 weeks with TOM thrown in) so I am going to change my range and decrease it alittle and see what happens... to more like 1000-1300. good luck all!!! | ||

Well, I need to be restarted as well. I've been coming in under calories, but eating (little) things on my "no no" list even after I've reached my deficit for the day. That to me is cheating. Not that I can't have them, but that I can't have them if I've already eaten my calories for the day. So, I've had a 2-300 deficit instead of a 500 deficit even though I've gotten A's. However, whole point of this for me is to get those 2 or 300 "extra" calories a day under control. SO! Lets get remotivated!!!!!
Edit: I'd just like to add that this is the typical time in my "eat right" attempts where my motivation usually goes out the window, and this thread motivates me to keep at it instead of just saying "screw it". Knowing others are going through the same things is really inspiring to "get back on the horse." Thanks you all! |

| Oh no! We're all falling to pieces!! Well, I need to be restarted too. I didn't even have the heart to count my calories yesterday, but I am sure I went over at two different meals. Oh well, I still feel great after over a week of clean eating and I am happy to start again fresh today. :) | ||
| #297 | May 11 2007 17:49 | |
| Hang in there! Just take a deep breath, give yourself a pat on the back for the number of days you made it. Restart with the attitude that you'll eat clean the same number of days and then beat that! I'm still going strong, but have been busy and unable to log in. Everytime I pass the pile of snacks people bring into work or walk past a cube with a candy jar I smile to think how I used to take advantage of every opportunity! Thanks to Dee for this great idea and everyone's encouragement, I'm down 5 pounds since starting this the 2nd of May. Good luck this weekend everyone. | ||

| I think Im done with the frozen dinner thing. Ive had lean cuisines, smart ones, the kashi dinners (i dont like those too much), and ive tried healthy choice but they have more calories in them than Id like. I dont know what to do. For my grocery shopping today I just bought a bunch of fruits and veggies for wraps and stuff. Today I hit my 20 lb mark. 20 down 50 to go! Still clean! | ||

Actually I do have a range and it's 1200-1400. It's just that I rarely go over 1200 & change, but I know it's not bad to do so.
I think I will reset my date cuz later on I had 8 mini rolos for 85 calories. If I had chosen to have those as my snack for the day, then fine, it would be allowed, but now that brough my calories to 1412. I know in my mind it was not a binge by any means, but it's those little choices that we make that can make the difference on the scale. And it is also those little choices that slowly creep into my head and sort of gives me permission to do it again the next day & then the next. So, this being the NO EXCUSES challenge, I'm not gonna make excuses. If I want mini rolos, I have to make them part of my daily treat & not eat them after I've eaten everything including my treat(s) for the day. Darn husband for buying them & leaving them in the food cupboard upstairs! I better throw them out NOW! **************************************** lisalcd17- oh, it's just great that your hubby will watch the kids whenever you want to go get some activity. Way to go still going strong! carie - Wow! 4 lbs since starting is great! KEep it up girl! The good choices are paying off for you big-time! food_freak- love your name btw! I'll reset you, dont' feel guilty, just keep going strong, like you said! lrschwarze - I will not reset you. I'm only resetting me cuz I had the extra rolos later on. What you did was fine, and what I did was fine till I pulled out he rolos. You're doing awesome!! cerhiunnhn - thanks girl! I do understand what you're saying and I do have a range. I think without the rolos I was ok, but now I think I just need to reset myself to reset my mindset too you know? you are doing great, keep it up! pharmspice - My weight seems to be slowing down too but I'm still 18lbs away from goal. How far are you from goal? It's weird cuz since apr 30 I've been so clean eating. I thougth I'd be down a lot more than I am. k8ly - you're really putting the brakes on all your no-no's and using this challenge to really challenge yourself! Way to go!! There's nothing wrong with being a harda$$ with yourself. I'm so glad that you're gonna stay motivated where normally you might have given up in the past!!! It sure is great to know we're all out here going through the same things!!! susankaye - Oh we're not all falling to pieces. Lots of people on the list are still going hard & strong!!! Us "restarters" are gonna bring it now like we never brought it b4, right? Let's get day one underway & start the count up again!!! dee4less- thanks! You're right, we've made it a long ways and a lot of us restarters didn't really do that poorly, but just not as good as we want. Way to keep going strong!! & resisting everyone's little tempting treats at their cubes is great! Congrats on the 5 lbs since 2nd of may! Holy Crap, that's awesome!!!! Everyone stay strong for the weekend, we did it last weeken & we can do it again!!!!!!!! Dee |
