Hi, I would like to get in shape for the summer...I am currently in college and have gained a bit more weight than I would have liked to:) I am 5'3 and weigh 143lbs...would love to go down to 125lbs or so over the course of the next few months and would love to hear from anyone else with the same situation?
I could certainly do with some motivation...someone to chat to when Im contemplating a chocolate binge:)
Hasta- thank you for your support - you're of course right, sometimes i need reminders of that sort - i think i was just freaking out because i knew i couldn't work out all weekend... but tomorrow is monday again, and i can hit the beach again!

Rishiesmom: is it that time of the month? water retention? if you check out our stats on p2, you will see that it isn't unusual to either plateau or gain a bit sometimes...

I got my body assessment yesterday and it is motivating. I am at 28.7 % body fat and my goal is to be at 23-25% Which is not that many pounds to go. I think I need to increase my workouts. Now just finding the time to do it is the key!

i've been eating all day today - don't really know what's up with that... but well - that's the way it is right now.... feel hungry but not hungry!! do you know what i mean?
I know what you mean with eating all day.. We had a potluck for lunch today which means all the leftover food goes into our breakroom and somehow I find myself wondering in there.... I need to tell my body: I am not hungry :)
I'll eat less at dinner, well I'll try...

- i just kept eating 'til bedtime...snacking is more like it, since i couldn't figure out what i was really hungry for... will see how much damage i did tomorrow at weigh in...
btw - do you guys weigh in befrore or after excercise? can't figure out if doing it after is cheating, since there must be some element of dehydration involved, right? i usually do it right after waking (and peeing
) in the morning...
so it's weigh in day again....i'm up a bit from last week, but it's also ttom...hopefully it will look better next week... (and it explains my insatiable need for whatever it was a few nights ago!!)

Well I am down this week which is good. I didn't believe the scale so I had to get on it twice! 139.5. It helped that I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. So now the challenge is to still weigh that after the weekend is over. Tonight should be fine, but tomorrow I am going to a wedding. I am sure I can be good at dinner, it is the drinking during the time between the ceremony and the reception....
Also I am doing my first triathlon of this summer tomorrow! I can't believe I haven't done one yet. I have been training a little bit so hopefully I do well. So I guess with the calories burned with that I won't have too much trouble on Saturday...

Good morning everyone...I wasn't able to check in. I'm in between making brownies for a BBQ and making the decision to work out or not....I better work out if I want a brownie. Unfortunately, by weight is not where I want it to be. I'm at 135. Not sure if that's water weight from the french fries I had the other night or all the eating...probably both. I do have to say I did workout every day for the past week, about 40 to 50 minutes a day including a couple circuit classes.....I just don't get it sometimes. I work out like a crazy women and I gain. I take a couple days off and I lose weight..whats up with that????

Just back from weeks of working on the road. I'm really pooped. I have no idea how much I weigh and keeping track of anything was again, difficult at the least. Will weigh Friday and begin again.
The good news is that I kept up a minimum of exercise fairly consistently. I'm hoping that if I gained, it was only a little. Working on getting back to daily tracking as of today.
You all seem to be doing great! Nice to see all of the support although I'll only be able to catch up on all of the comments later.

Looks like we're all getting back to business! I got back from my 8 day trip last nite. Home sweet home. Got on the scale this a.m. and it wasn't too bad so I guess I'll log it as wk 13. I'm at 140.4, up from 140.
Betty boop - I hear you on the opposite results you'd expect. I didn't do any exercise last week, ate a bunch of mexican food mmmmm, and my weight wasn't too adversly affected. As I get back into the exercise routine this week, I'm prepared to show a gain due to muscle development.
renekane - you and I will be in the same boat, starting up again on tracking calories and getting back into the real swing of things. Let's do it!
smader - was you're triathlon a full scale one, or a mini. either way that is awesome. I didn't realize you were that serious about your fitness training. So proud of you!
snehvide & rishiesmom - thanks for keeping us updated this weekend.

Hi all
the triathlon went well, it was a fast course. It was a sprint distance (1/2mile swim, 20mile bike, 3mile run) the bike was pretty flat and fast. It helped me realize what I need to work on, which is running. I felt totally out of breath when I came off of the bike. I will train more for the next one (I think in September).
I am glad to hear everyone is doing well. So far I have had a pretty clean week. I just need to continue it. And I have a kitchen back after a long 4 month remodel!! So I can cook healthy again!
renekane & Hasta-glad to see you both are back and feeling well and ready to lose :)
bettyboop71-I hear you with the weird gaining. I swear I am doing everything right and the pounds should come off faster, but I am also probably gaining a lot of muscle too.
My goal for the week-good eating and steady exercise!
I have a question for everyone. Is it ok(fertility-wise) to have 8-16 oz of coffee everyday?
Congratulations, Smader! I am thinking about participating in the Susan Komen race. Do you have any tips for me?
rishiesmom, i suggest you post the q in its own thread, since i'm sure you will find someone on cc who will have info about it.... i've never heard anyone advising against coffee, but then again, i'm no expert - i just know that coffee should be enjoyed in moderation.
smader - it inspires me to do something like that....but my bike is about as handy and fast as a white picket fence!!!
i just ruined my whole diet for the week...my daughter came home, i didn't feel like cooking, she felt like pizza....so i ended up eating SIX slices... not because i was that hungry, but because it tasted good...yuck! And I've been so good these past two days...
Hi all! yes hasta knew i was traveling, we just got back yesterday from a long weekend in chicago for my daughter's 6th birthday. SO MUCH FUN! we had a blast. and i ate like i didn't care. lots of desserts, cheesecake of course. we had some great food. went to Fogo de chao, a brazilian steakhouse which is all you can eat filet mignon, ribeye, etc. So delicious! well, along with all the great food we had and my TOTM i've gained. shocker right?! 144.0 today. i did a lot of walking but i guess that didn't help much.
BTW, way to go smader!
and snehvide, i know what you mean, you start eating and you can't stop! i'll tell myself "just one more bite" over and over and it's good while you're eating but you stop and feel sick. we all have our slip ups!
yeah im tryn 2 lose 15 pounds, im 16 and have been tryn 2 get fit since i wuz like 14...very frustrating...im 120 lbs and wana get to like 105 lbs and get fit for the rest of the school year and the coming summer :D hopefully
man i hope we all make it !!! i really feel good about it this time :D

rishiesmom-Your race sounds like it will be fun, is it a 5k or a 10k? My tips would be to start slow with training if you don't run much now. Also run/walk, run 5 minutes then walk 5 minutes, then start increasing the running time and the overall time. That way you don't get frustrated or really sore. Also watch out for injuries and back off it you are in pain. Otherwise a good pair of shoes and some solid motivation and you should do great!
snehvide-anyone can do a tri or a running race! there are so many varieties of bikes and equipment. Also I hear you on eating and letting go, my husband made cookies last night and I love cookie dough, so I kept sneaking bites! Hopefully one meal won't change much for either of us :)
