Hey Everyone!!!!
Congrats to everyone who has lost or maintained their weight!!!
Welcome to all the new comers!!!
I'm still here and working towards my goal weight! I haven't been as determined since i came back from 4th of july vacation, but refuse to give up altogether! The weather has been scorching hot... like 106 degrees! That has discouraged me from getting back into walking everyday! It's cooling back down to mid 90's and we walked yesterday and are continuing today!!!! I just feel like i should have lost more by now! I have lost about 2 inches since i started in june but I'm still at 287! I thought weightloss was fastest when you first start?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? What a bummer!
aww it looks like everybody is doing great. 15lbs. kerri! did you mean overall or in a week? i'm jealous either way, lol. kwudell i know what you mean about the heat, it's brutal. i'm going tonight to play basketball with my brother, i'm drinking so much water in anticipation so i can stay hydrated.
Sorry, everyone. It was 15 pounds in 3 months. I have actually lost about 2 pounds this week. I was just so excited about my weight in results that I guess I forgot to be more specific...lol
Here is my routine everyone and I'm not so sure how healthy it is, but if I stick to it, I can loose about 2 pounds a week. Also, remind you that I drink so much water that I could probably float away!
So, I eat most of my calories for breakfast and lunch. Normally its about 1300 calories a day (it does vary from day to day though) and then I eat fruit for dinner. I also take a run for about 10 minutes because that is all I can run right now before I feel like I'm dying...lol Normally when I weight the next morning I am about a pound down. Also through out the week I notice that my weight goes up and down but that is because I have to mix up my routine so that my body does not get use to it. One day I will splurge and consume way more calories then the previous day and then the next day I will cut it back. I find that this has been working GREAT for me the last 3 months. Also, I still eat the fun stuff and go out to eat...
Everyones bodies are different so this may not work for you and it is also hard to train your body to get use to this routine in the beginning.
Also, I want to add that if you consume foods with a lot of sodium in them, it will make your weight jump up. When you consume a lot of sodium, you need to double your water intake so that your body flushes all that sodium out and your weight will go back down. Same thing if you drink alcohol. You need to drink LOTS of water to flush it out. I have also noticed and learned through this site and dieting that water is the key thing and also what time you consume your calories. You should be consuming the majority of your calories before noon and your dinner should be small and very low cal because it is closer to when you are less active. Also eating after you exercise is great too because your metabolism is working at a faster rate then. Just some tips that I have learned...
thanks kerri! i'm going to try and implement some of the things you mentioned into my routine. eating fruit for dinner sounds like a great way to cut down on calories and enjoy more foods during the day when your metabolism is up. so what time of day have you been jogging, in the evening? if you keep up your routine in a years time you will be down 60 lbs!!! so a new mini goal i've set for myself is to be down 40 lbs. by christmas, i was inspired by felicia who said she wanted to be down 40 lbs. by her birthday on dec. 11th. i thought losing a little less than 2 lbs. a week would be a great goal, is anyone else on here fighting to get down to a certain weight by christmas or new year or their birthday or are ya'll just chugging along without a target date? i'm interested to hear about what ya'll are doing.
I normally run around 5pm central time because that is when I get home from work and I am still somewhat active.
I would like to be at 200 pounds by christmas. That is about 30 pounds down.
My ultimate goal is to loose 70 or 80 pounds total. So far I am 24 pounds down.
so did anyone weigh in over the weekend? anyone meet any mini goals yet?
I know it's summertime and we're all preoccupied with our busy lives? i promised i would try and help motivate everyone and i'm trying my best....is anyone out there still reading! Haha if so, please save this thread and post about your experiences, good or bad!
I know I haven't stopped by in a while...busy summer! Thought I'd do a quick update:
SW: 235
CW: 214.4
GW: 135 (then reevaluate)
Pounds lost so far: 20.6
kitty 20 lbs is great! thank you for posting! any others...
I'm still around too. I've been a little stuck during the past couple of weeks and I've been trying different plateau breaking techniques, but I think I just need to keep working hard and wait it out.
I'm so happy for everyone who's still motivated and still losing! As of now, I'm 69 pounds down. I was hoping to be at an even 70 by sometime this week, so we'll see :-)
My goal is to be 100 pounds lighter by Christmas of this year. I'm starting the Couch 2 5K program next month so that'll be a nice change. For now, it's Turbo Jam, Turbo Sculpt, Pilates, and whatever else I can think of to get my heart rate up.
We'll get there, just maybe not on our timelines :-)
wow that's great! i looked into the couch to 5k program once, i didn't follow up on it, obviously! i hope you like the program and do well. remind us what your mini rewards are, i liked the system you had.
Another week has come and gone...more pounds lost hopefully! I hope everyone had a great weekend :-)

Ake2k, welcome. Your stats are like mine, except I'm a female..hah
I started at 265 and now I'm about 240ish. My scale is packed in a box at my new place so I can't give you an exact weight; besides women never reveal their true weight! LOL

cool are you doing any special kind of diets. Even though i am on a "diet" its really more of a lifestyle i guess. i do eat what i want but i want to eat healthy. i generally stay away from starchy carbs bread/rice/potatoes but still get a ton of carbs from veggies other then that just load up on protien as much as i can and try im trying to stay low fat.
i know i sound like a broken record to the people on this board every time a new person comes in but i think the best advice i can give you would be WATER. seriously drink. drink. drink. drink. and drink! you probably need about 3 liters as a sedentary person so if you are going to the gym you'll need a lot more. also, that and an apple a day really helps me stay on track. i juice most of my fruits but something about eating a crisp apple makes me feel healthier! keep up the good work.
