Hi Everyone,
*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable. I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!
Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins. I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.
I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday! Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)
Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.

Sorry, I haven't had time lately to write much, everything is so hectic in my life right now.
Opa-Sounds like you are well on your way to making a huge change now that you are home and have time to concentrate on the weight loss and have access to a kitchen! And of course motivation from friends :)
Steph-Ball hockey??? How cool, you are braver than I am ...I would NOT get in front of a ball that a guy was shooting...no way!
Carley- I'm soooooooo envious of the way you look!!!! How I WISH my bod looked like yours....keep up the awesome work girl! What is Sasquatch by the way?? My wedding is August 2nd, but have my dress fitting on June 21st so I have to be ready!!

How is the weather in everyone's corner or the world?????? It's BEAUTIFUL here today, too bad it rained all weekend.
I just started ballet this year. It's not the best cardio or exercise, but it works some strange muscles that I've never used before. I get sore in the strangest places.
Steph and Carley, I was curious about those too so I googled them. They sound sooo yummy. Coffee flavored granola bar = pure genius.

After I went swimming, I made a lunch of a healthy omelette, a small piece of baguette, a nutrigrain bar, a large apple. And then I snacked on a few M&Ms.
My new favorite munchies snack is sunflower seeds! I'm really slow at eating them.
I'm not positive that I had a 500 cal deficit yesterday, but I think I was close. I'm going to count it as day 1!
I've had about 600 cals so far today and its noon. I'm going to go shopping to keep the midafternoon munchies at bay.
Aiming for 1400-1500 cals today.

Opa, I never thought about it until now, but I've started doing a 500/day deficit. A CC member told me that I should take my burn # (1529) and add the number of calories burned and subtract 500, and that's how much I should be eating. I've got to admit, it's a little scary to eat 1900 calories on purpose (such a high number due to my exercise). But I'm going to try it for a few weeks and see where it takes me. Hopefully moving downward on the scale! Last night was really exciting for me, I had a bowl of cereal in the evening to get my calories intake. It was such a treat! I love cereal!!- and yes, I have a dull life :D
Today so far I've had my Raisin Bran for breakfast (270), lunch was a ham sandwich (120), apple with PB (120), Vanilla Bean Latte bar (140). Supper will likely be mixed veg with chicken and sauce (215). I'll probably have a few more apples today as well. I'll post later today to fill in the blanks.
Pet peeve of the day- "relatives" are coming to visit my parents (they live next door to me). And they are the type to just invite themselves and barge right in. I think I've met said relatives once, but I really have no desire to see them, so I am purposely going to be away all day tomorrow. I will stop in, say hello, but that's it.
I also love sunflower seeds Opa! They really help me curb my cravings and take FOREVER to eat :)
I will definitely post pics for you guys!! Hopefully looking all slim and trim :p Life has been so hectic lately..I've only done my dvd 3 days, haven't had a chance since SUNDAY! Yikes, but I'll get back on track. It's not that I don't want to do it, I just haven't had the time.
Tomorrow I start my LAST 3 days of class....woo hoo! So happy.
Steph I totally hear ya on the relatives that you never see but insist on coming by and staying for hours making themselves right at home...ick!
Today was a weird eating day for me, trying to save up so I can have homemade burgers and fries tonight! YUM...after we get home from my fiance's tux fitting that is!

Total is only ~435, which means I should have room...I usually try and eat around 1500-1600 cals a day!
Jenn, you must be glad about almost being done with school- one less thing to get in the way of wedding preparations!
Mine and hubbies passports arrived yesterday! Yippee!! Time to plan that trip! Now I'm more determined than ever to lose the weight and get in shape!

Lunch- half of a footlong cold cut sub from Subway- no cheese but a bit of light mayo. The website says it's 640 for the sub w/o mayo. I counted it as 850 with (?)
snack- med coffee, 1 cream, 2 sugars (trying to phase that stuff out- I use to be a dbl dbl)- 100
Supper- the other half of the sub
Total- 1340
The past 3 days I've made my 500 cal deficit goal, will make it again today! :)
The weight that I was concerned about gaining must've been water weight- I'm down 2 pounds today from yesterday! I've started drinking more water as well. I got my latest info from this site. I've been following it's recommendation for about a week now. It says that at the rate of a 615 deficit, I will lose 1.23pds per week.
Here's hoping!
Today is weight lifting day, I'm going to try to alternate it with my husbands Abs Diet Workout DVD.
I really want to be bikini ready for that trip, and I have 3 weeks to do it!

200 cals - oatmeal and a few chips, piece of chocolate
lunch - salad, apple
snack - small piece of banana bread
dinner - 1 c rice, vegetables and tofu
snack - strawberrie
I hear ya on those night time munchies Opa. As I'm sitting here, I keep thinking "hmm, I wonder if there's any chips in the house...". The thing is, I'm sure I'll find some! I guess the beauty of a 500 deficit though is that you can eat more if you exercise more. I don't think it gives you a carte blanche to eat whatever you want all the time, given that the fat content may be different even if the calories are the same. But once in awhile is alright!
btw- what is tofu like? I've never had the guts to try it- it looks so slimy, like someone poured whole milk into a container, left it for a couple of months, and it congealed. yahhhhk :S
Very excited- booked plane tickets today! Europe here I come!! It's crunch time- I've got 3 weeks to get in the best shape as possible!

I know its my own fault, but I feel so disheartened.
Steph - I'm glad my 500 calorie challenge is working for SOMEBODY, haha. (Unfortunately I'm not part of that group). I envy your willpower.
Every time I read everyone's posts, I feel so inspired...and then I get off CC and all this food is around me and all my motivation flies out the window. I'm actually really embarrassed and frustrated by my regression.
I'm workin' on it.
Hey Opa, a few things...
1- I have such little willpower, it's not even funny. Near the end of my day, I tally up how much I've eaten and how close I am to my deficit (I'm doing 615). Then I work to make it meet. Whether that means eating more or exercising more. Yesterday for example I had exercised enough that I had 400 calories to eat (this was around 9pm). So what did I do? I ate more than half of a big bag of chips and half of a king sized chocolate bar. I estimated it to be 900 calories! It was so ridiculous. So, I got on the bike and pedaled til the little readout said 500 burned.
You are definitely not alone in your struggle!! I can't speak for everyone, but I'm sure we've all been embarrassed and frustrated at some point. I know I have!
2- do you weigh yourself daily? I do and my weight can jump up or down by a few pounds for seemingly no reason day to day. I've had Mondays that come along and I weigh myself in the morning and it's been a steady weight all week, and then it goes up instead of down. And I feel like saying "honestly, I weighed x pds yesterday". That does frustrate me! Keep in mind things like water retention, due to TTOM or sodium. Pour on the water if you don't already, it can make a big difference!
Don't be discouraged!! Tomorrow is another new day with a clean slate :)

Sorry, I've hardly had time to get on the web, just finished up school and had a death in the family on Thursday, so hectic. So just hear quickly this morning. I weighed in at 139 yesterday, up 1 lb from last week I think????? Doesn't surprise me...I've been eating terribly!
Don't feel bad girls, I think we are all in the same boat! Here is what I ate on Sunday: Bacon and Eggs with Toast, half a bag of ringolo's, mars bar, half big bag of lays ketchup chips, half a bottle of orange pop and then another half big bag of party mix........HOW GROSS is that??????
Oh well........back at it again this week!

Sorry to hear about the death in your family Jenn.
The way you ate on Sunday, you said gross, but as I was reading it, I was thinking YUM!! Except for the orange pop- for some reason I have an aversion to that stuff. I wonder if it's from all of the McDonalds pop that was at school events when I was a kid.

I stuck to my eating yesterday, very proud of myslf...and I only ate half of my bag of popcorn :) IRON MAN was AWESOME!!

I was doing so good yesterday. By 11pm I had 292 calories to eat to get to my 602 cal deficit (I readjusted it to my weight). I started with a 60 cal apple. Then hubby got home so I made him a thin crust Texas style pizza (BBQ sauce, seasoned chicken, peppers, onions). It's 280 for 1/4 of the pizza, so even though I knew I'd go a little bit over, I went for it (my treat for the day). What I didn't plan on was this. Hubby didn't want to eat 3/4 of the pizza, he only wanted 1/2 and asked me to take the 1/4 to the kitchen. I begged him to eat it, he said he didn't want it. So I ended up eating it.
yes- half of a pizza.
Needles to say I didn't get my 602 deficit. :(
Normally I would've hopped on the bike until I made up the difference, but by now it was midnight. I went to bed.
I'll get it today though!
Thanks!! I'm usually too cheap to buy anything at the movies too but we had passes from Xmas that included a drink and popcorn EACH! I felt bad not eating the other half so it is at home, probably snack on it tonight :)

Allright. Back from the festival. Now I need a vacation! It was crazy! Nice break, but I'm soooo happy to be back to normal life with my daughter.
After all the brownies, rice crispy treats & hamburgers I'm up to 121 & just started my period! No wonder I was completely crazy. What a time to be around sugary, fatty & salty foods! Sabatoge!
Back to normal life, ok? Ok!
