Welcome to the 5'3 Club!

Thanks for joining us! If you didn't manage to join during our sign ups, please wait until the next sign ups take place before you post a message here.

Weigh Ins are weekly, every Friday.

To Weigh In you will post a message using the following format:
  • Weigh In For __/__ (mm/dd)
  • Current Weight

Chit-Chat is fine. I hope we can all get to know one another and truly give encouragement to one another. If you have any suggestions or comments about the club, please email me and let me know.

Just be sure your weigh ins are in bold so that I won't miss any! If you are weighing in at home on a day other than Friday, please wait until Friday to post your week's weigh in so that I don't miss any.

There may be changes, new challenges, new games, etc. as time goes by. I will always make announcements on this thread header and in a post here, so that it will be noticed, hopefully. :-)

- You must weigh in at least once a month to remain on the member list. If you are going on vacation or there is some reason you will not be able to weigh in for over one month, please email me and let me know.

The Member List shows your starting/current/goal weights the followed by how far you are from your goal. I've broken the list into categories by weight to lose before you reach your goal. Once you reach your goal, you will be moved to the Maintenance area of the list and you may then weigh in as often or little as you'd like, just please try to keep it on Fridays.

It's a bit discouraging to have lost only 11.4 pounds since our original Jan 4 weigh in.  I have 30 more to go, and at this rate, it's going to take me about nine more months.

I'm back on it!

Current weight: 159.2

I was so frustrated that I had spent 2 months at the same weight I took a couple of weeks off.  It must have worked since I lost 3 lbs. this week.  Only down from here!!!!  Good luck to everyone!

I see that the list still hasn't been updated since I left for Europe last January... There are less and less people logging in as well, and I am wondering if this list is still active? I asked that very same question last week but no one bothered to answer. So I am asking again, but my hopes are dwindling.

I have been re-reading Emotional Weight and agree with the author that one of the major shortcomings of dieters is consistency. Our culture is one of instant gratification and when we finally decide to do something about our weight, we usually want results to show yesterday. Of course, this is unrealistic, so we get frustrated, and  very quickly drop off the wagon, much before we have a chance to see results... I came on this forum less than four months ago and it's dying already.

I really do hope some of you are still interested and trying. I will wait to see if someone will finally answer me.

In the meantime, have a nice day everybody, at least those that are still around.

I am still here even though I didnt weigh in on 4/18...I will this coming friday.  I took a week off from everything... counting, logging and exercise so I am back at it.

who is still around 5'3'' -ers?

well, obviously me... Who else? Mandi seems to be absent, because, as I said, the list hasn't been altered since the end of January... I don't care if there are 50 or just three of us, I would just like to know if there is still some follow-up.

I travel a lot and am not really able to log in very regularly, but this site has given me a lot of support, so I would love to see it continue...

Anyone else?

Well, I'm going to keep making my entries on this thread, even if the weight list isn't updated.  Knowing it's here helps me focus on the week to week changes, and not get bogged down in the day to day minutia.

Lost 2 lbs. this week.  It seems that the closer I get to my goal, the more of a struggle it is.  I've been so up and down on my weight loss the last couple of months.

Good job Sharz96!  Keep it up.  I also will continue to log my weight each week.  It's that whole accountability thing.  Another option would to be to start a thread of our own and update the weights like mandi started.

I have pretty much fluctuate between 133-135 and so today it said 134. I want to see 127 in 3 weeks. I am going to bust my booty! 

 

so do we want to start a new forum then like cmcmullin mentioned?        &n bsp;         &n bsp;I got a question:   how many minutes of exercise are you going to make your goal this week (friday- thursday)? 

mine is 150 minutes

i am studying for exams at the minute so i am gonna leave out exercise til they are over..only 3 weeks left!

i find that if i am exercising it takes up too much time, although i walk to and from class which is about 4 miles in total for 1 day, 2-3 times a week.

Yeah where did everyone go???  Anyway, I'm still in.  Great Job to everyone who has lost!  Its exciting when you see the numbers go down (even if just a little bit) each week.

 I just bought a Nintendo Wii......its great to relax with somthing and still be at least a bit active, lol.

Lost .2 lbs.  Anyone have advice for getting my weight loss moving again?  I have been stuck for 2 months.  I've tried adjusting my calorie consumption, mixing up my exercise, etc.  Nothing is working!  Maybe my body just wants to be this weight for awhile!

I am having the same problems.  I can't seem to get the scale to budge and go down.  I've hovered around 125 since mid-March.  I know that was my goal, but I want to go 5 more.  My calorie target is 1300, but CAN'T seem to stay there.  It's more like 1600...and that's what I burn just doing nothing.  I think I know what I need to so...exercise.  It's just so wet and chilly and cold.  UGH!  Like right now, I've eaten 1609 calories for the day and I'm still hungry.

Up again.  I'm struggling, too.  My calorie goal is 1400, 1500 if I work out, and I can't seem to keep it below 1600 or 1700.  Or I'll be doing great, and then see some budget room for chocolate, only to eat twice the chocolate I had room for.  Or more.

And this was a BAD weekend.  Fri-Mon extended weekend with girlsfriends, doing nothing but eating (lots of chocolate) talking, and watching TV/movies.  I didn't track calories and I haven't the faintest idea how many I had.  I tried to make reasonably good choices on the food, but then there was all the chocolate ... I dread weighing in tomorrow morning to see the damage.  I don't think there's any chance in hades that I'll lose this week.
