Thanks for the kind words! I was not great today (I am out of town and eating out) but I did get a good workout in.

Sun123, check out this site - every scale they have goes at least to 400 lbs. I don't know what your price range is but the regular bathroom type scales start at $70. They have one like you described with the separate readout and it goes to 500 lbs and costs $240. Of course, you don't need that anymore! It is probably better quality than the bathroom scales though. I always seem to break bathroom scales even when I am not over the weight limit.

Anyway, they also have other stuff for larger people - stuff with higher weight capacities than usually found and also tools. They even have extra large sleeping bags and camping chairs and that sort of thing. I got their catalog in the mail recently. I think I bought a 100" tape measure from a similar place and I must be on the mailing lists now!

Thanks Denise, the pricier one looks just like it - the readout portion is different.  I agree about regular scales.  My home one dial goes up to goes up to 300 but has double numbers so 1-30 is also 300-330.  Yet when I recently got to 370, stood on it and only went to 310.  If only.

This is a cool site.  From kooestproducts.com, I bought their maxxdaddy monster which then was only $45.  The revamped it and the price went way up so now its $110 on sale.  This thing is a rock and I could push off it for support with my 400+ weight no problem and it wasnt a problem width wise either.  I keep it my car trunk just in case.  For folks quite under 350 lbs, they have THIS one for $55.

This talk of products for larger folks leads me to my gripe of not being able to find clothes for women that are not only plus-size but tall sized as well.  At 5'11'', and a size 24, if I find something that does fit (like a suit) nine times out of ten the sleeves are too short and the jacket is way too short.

I usually end up with a size 24 jacket and 22 pants because at least with the top being a little bigger it gives me a little more length.  I just recently have found a couple of websites that sell tall plus-sized clothing.  I just don't understand.  It's like designers either think people are tall and skinny or short and fat.

Sorry, just had to air my frustration on that one.

Bethepoo, that's funny because I have the opposite problem. I'm 5'2", which is considered "petite" (if only), which is very rare to find in a size 30/32 (or 5X). I can fit into a 4X, but it's not as comfortable. Usually, when I find a size that fits, I have to roll up the sleeves about 6 inches and cut off at least 4 to 6 inches from pants. Skirts that would normally hit below the knee on taller women, are like ankle-length on me. Even when I wore a smaller size, I still had the same problem.

None of my suits fit anymore, but I refuse to spend the money for an expensive suit that won't look good on me anyway. So, that's another reason on my list of reasons to lose weight. And, one of these days, I'll be able to buy a bra that actually fits, but that's another rant!

Maybe I should shop for you since I seem to always find clothing that is too long for me????

I guess it all boils down to if you aren't 5'6'' and a size 2, you are doomed.  But that's another story.

Yeah- today 289.6....
Good going Jen!  Great weigh in day - 351.4 so already on track to catching up after that gain month end.  Probably had some zig zag diet effect going on.

Halfway to 3/1 hoping we are all doing well!

Even at plus stores, at 400+ I would be lucky if they had one dress with a wide bottom portion just to fit, despite how I felt about the colors or styling.  The rare shopping trip involved hitting said store in multiple cities.  What a chore and to end up with *maybe* one dress.

i guess we are supposed to do a mid-month weigh in. so here is my current stats:

SW: 320 lbs.

FEB 1st:  284 lbs.

FEB 14th: 277 lbs.

HALF MONTH LOSS:  7 lbs.

TOTAL LOSS: 43 lbs.

so yeah, things are still going well. the weight loss has slowed down a bit, but still losing every week and feeling really good. old clothes are starting to fit and i have more energy and even my self confidence is getting better. all in all, things are great.

hope everyone is doing well and good luck to all.

I can totally relate! I am 5'2" also. And it is sad for me that I am bigger than others my own weight. Other people are my weight or heavier but can wear a 20 or 22 while I wear a 26 or 28. I am 270 pounds. When I was 200 pounds (briefly, in college when I had lost some weight and before I gained it all back), that was when I could wear a size 20. It is amazing that a few inches in height can mean such a difference in girth! I really want to be a size 20 again!

I was a 5X too, when I started, and now I am a 3X but it is slow going!

Good job Brett!  Boy is MINE misleading considering its from a the crazy binge gain ending Feb1st (which was 373 til my Monday weighin came in at 366) especially considering my Jan1 was 364.4.

IF YOUR READING THIS FEEL FREE TO POST YOU MID FEB WEIGH IN FOR THE LIST.
We ll do the official one Saturday March 1st.

I have had good luck shopping online through womanwithin.com. Their sizes come in petite, average and tall. I am 5'6" and I wear a 5x top and 4x bottoms and that presents a problem when buying suits. I found a fabulous black dress on clearance for $9.95. Got a 4x and it fits great.
Great diet weekend including the grocery purchase of some different items to shake up my comfortable food line up.  Nothing spectacular but Im so predictable it didnt take much.  A seriously new intro is cereal - kashi go lean which is great dry as a snack.  Several cans of meat - tuna, salmon, chicken to get some alternative protien.  Whole wheat bread and wraps - carbs have been pretty much absent with the my frozen wraps entree being discontinued.

Hope we are all doing well, and if anyone is struggling hang in there.  At 1-1/2 months in, hoping all are keeping there eye on the prize.
