Hola G4Gers --

Thanks forks for the toast, and beitty for the tunes.  Hey, we're almost two weeks into our journey.  Who wants to play license plate poker??!!
Whew, end of a loooong day.  Still a bit of final decorating and soup to make for the book club tomorrow night; however much work (proposal), sponsorship calls, two cases to work on -- hopefully can get it all wrapped up by 4 to get the cookin' done.  Had fun this afternoon while I talked on the phone to clients and got out my holiday dishes and glassware for the party.  You gotta love bluetooth headsets!

Met with the other women from my bike racing team this evening, we're getting our training plans coordinated and figuring out how we can support each other in competitions for 2008.  We're going to start a cross-training activity one night a week, next Thurs it's to be running (walking) the stairs at the university football stadium, and then go for supper after.  We're going to wear our heart rate monitors, and try to stay at 70% of our max heart rates.  This will be cool, 'cause it's an activity I would NEVER do if left to my own devices.  (eg like posting my calories "publicly" -- see what a good influence you all are??)  Stay tuned for next week's "huff-n-puff" report.  Hope all this makes me faster, if not at least it will be fun to suffer the stairs with pals.
Oops, must go fill the kitty waterbowls before bed.  Happy hump day everyone.

Sooo perfect...Sooo lovely...till I post it, lol! * sigh * Does everybody TYPE all their info? I tried my word program- shudder!- it was worse! Tried to clarify it- tediously, lol! It is grade/g's/cals with each item.

Also had 3 quarts water! Wink

Exercise didn't work out today, Dr's appointment this afternoon. Tongue out

Planning good exercise tomorrow! Laughing

Doing great everybody! Laughing

I have a miracle to report!!  I said about my knee problems yesterday, well this morning it is close to being perfectly pain free.  I still did the squats and stuff yesterday for the workout , even though they hurt.  This morning I decided when I started to go down our steps that I would be brave and attempt to bend the bad knee first...no pain.  I have no logical explaination except that something must have been out of place and the exercise helped put it back.  Or maybe even more logical than that....God is GOOD!CoolLaughingSmileWinkTongue outInnocent

GARLIC-LIME PEPPER SHRIMP OVER SPINACH

Garlic-lime pepper shrimp over a bed of steamed spinach ... doesn't that sound just delightful? And it's what I currently have marinating in my fridge ... for LUNCH no less. I just wasn't in the mood for soup, salad or a sandwich, so I thought I'd have something especially delightful for lunch today (though it would make an awesome dinner, too!) I started with a bag of Trader Joe's frozen shrimp and measured out 1/4 of the bag ... 100 grams ... 100 calories. (A nice, lunch-serving of shrimpies. For dinner I use 200 calories' worth.) Then I placed it in a bowl with some fresh lime juice and garlic to marinate! I added 1/2 cup of chopped yellow onion, one whole crispy red pepper, diced, and 8 ounces of fresh, sliced mushrooms. I also added in a small package of shirataki noodles for some color/texture, and then sprinkled everything with some garlic-chili-lime powder and some chives. After it's been marinating in the fridge for a while, I will toss it all in a sizzling electric frying pan and stir fry it up. In the meantime, I will steam 10 ounces of spinach (a bag!) and place it on a plate, so I can dump my delectable garlic-lime-pepper-mushroom-onion combo on top. It's an IMPRESSIVELY HUGE pile of food for just 400 calories ... my normal lunch!

Dinner tonight will be 200 calories' worth of grilled southwestern chicken breast, 14 ounces of lemon-butter grilled fresh asparagus, 8 ounces of roasted banana squash with cinnamon, 8 ounces of garlic-dill fresh green beans, and a salad of cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and radishes in a tangy, no-calorie balsamic vinaigrette. A lot of color, a lot of crunch, a lot of flavor, a lot of fiber, and a lot of food! That oughtta keep me happily munching tonight!

It's cold outside today (in the 40s) ... but it's sunny!!! YAY! I love the twittering-flittering finches and sparrows, the cooing mourning doves, the cheeky-bouncy blue jays, and the scampering squirrels. The green grass is merrily confetti'd with a a carpet of orange, yellow and red leaves -- it looks at if God is having quite the autumn celebration out there! Since the gardeners come tomorrow, I don't see much point in raking today ... but I may venture outside this afternoon for some pruning!

No excersize today.

Tomorrow's weigh in day for me! We'll see how that goes!
well the internet was down in my house for a few days, but im back!

weigh in was on Tuesday - and needless to say, im retaining water...ttom - 143.00  I know its just water, but it still bothers me. I know it will be back down by next week though - i go through this every month "i gained 5 lbs this week!!" I think i might actually put the scale away for a week and a half until I feel 'thin' and not bloated.

We're still baking for xmas - we've made about 5 different types of biscotti (almond, pistachio cranberry with white chocolate, triple chocolate, anise, gingerbread and a random mix) and cookies are next weekend.  I'm so sick of cookies and sweets at this point, which is a good thing!

I lost count of calories today from all the random bites of biscotti, but im guessing around 2000 - today was definetly over my usual average, but ill be back on the wagon tomorrow!

Ok, once again what I planned for the day fell through when my DH decided we should go to Cici's pizza for dinner with his dad.  His dad will be heading to Texas to get a job with a trucking company out of Texas.  He leaves tomorrow for eight weeks, even through Christmas so my DH thought it would be nice to take him out.  I agreed to it but I knew my nutrition would suffer from the naughty but delicious Spinach Alfredo Pizza that I ate.  Then I knew my carbs were still low so I thought what the heck, and I ate a delighfully delicious brownie too.  I could have skipped the brownie but it was really goodUndecided.  I still had too much fat!!EmbarassedYellFrown

One good thing is that since my knee feels great I was able to do a complete workout this morning burning about 150 calories...I think that was how much, hard to know.

So here is what I ended up with today, and I hope I didn't ruin my weigh in tomorrow.

thanks dwf, I tried to be sensible but the brownie was to much temptationSealed
whew, just cleaned up the place and shooed the last of the book clubbers out the door, all carrying their plates of holiday goodies.  We were about 18 people all together!  My little bungalow house was bursting at the seams, that's a good feeling.  Twas a bit sentimental, this the 7th year I have hosted, and next year SO and I will be married and in our new house.  The George Winston CD "December" made me feel all nostalgic.

After I gift the neighbors tomorrow, there'll be no more cookies in my house.  Hooray!  I scored a science fiction classic in the book exchange, and all the "leftover" books I'll take to the library for their book sale donations.

Food was delicious, I worked out hard to prepare for this party, and even when all was said and done, and bellies patted with contentment, came out at 1,848 calories; not too bad!  Drank my sparkling water out of a festive glass and watched my portions, and my big treat was a piece of pumpkin cranberry cake, and carrots/celery with feta cheese dip.  I also had a piece of smoked gouda that was heaven on earth.  Turkey soup was yummo and I had enough left over to freeze for lunches next week.  I planned ahead what I would eat, and that's what I ate.  The "crowd" went through about 5 bottles of wine; funny though, I had just as much fun and will have no hangover tomorrow.

Quick stats = 1848 cal
Exercise today = GRB core workout (20 minutes) and walking (40 minutes)
Calories burned = 2650
Deficit = 802

Big snowstorm supposedly coming this weekend, so will be interesting what workouts we can scare up.
TGIF everyboday.

Lets See...Molly is eating herself thin.  GO MOLLY...when I read what your eating I find my jaw gets sore thinking about all the fun munching.... ha ha  I love it!   You are on the right track and setting the example for us all.  I found myself "wondering" about these evening snacks your having and what the calories are in them....I'm nosey.  I'm with you on the birds.  I'm a bird watcher and we feed them.

My evening snacks usually take me to the 1500-1550 calorie mark, and vary some Often it's 2 slices of organic, sprouted flax seed bread (100 calories), and some turkey/cheese (or other lean protein) (100-150 calories), and a few munchy veggies ... radishes, dill pickles, cherry tomatoes.

A lot depends on my blood sugar level, and how hungry I am. (I eat dinner around 6pm, and am usually up another 6-7 hours past that, which would explain why I eat another 300-350 calories sometimes.) Sometimes I have 100 calories' of popcorn, sometimes I have 120 calories of All Bran Garlic-Herb crackers.

Welcome Back!

My exercise today was biking, sweeping, and leaf raking. (Oh, and playing snugglebunnies with my DH!)

oh my ... did I just say that?   :: blushing::

It's about 8:30pm and I'm at about 1300 calories so far, so I get another 200 calories over the next 4 hours or so.

weigh in time!!

beginning weight: 189.5

last week: 170

this week: 168.5

week total: 1.5 lbs

total lost to date- 21 lbs

Now I am going to confuse myself a bit because I have my new scale which weigh in .2 increments instead of just .5 lbs.  I trust the new ones more since they are health o meter brand.  They weigh me at 167.8 so there is a .7 lb difference, and sometimes more than that.  So I am totally switching over to the new scales, and those are the numbers you will see from here on out.  Hope I can get all of my tickers straightened out  :)

Ps.- special comment TTOM began yesterday :(

Weigh in time for me, too!!!

I was scared I'd gain with possible tom, (been early lately), and from extra sodium calories last night...!

Watch olives!!! My oldest daughter came over to help feed her dad last night when I became sick, then gave me a sample with 2 olives... THEN she brought the jar to show me... 2 olives were 23% of the daily FDA sodium...!!!!!

After a lonnggg 5 1/2 weeks... with a 2+/- gain through stress apparently...

HEAVY DRUM ROLL necessary, please...

Beginning weight, May 7, 2007: 206.5

Lowest weight, November 2, 2007 & December 12, 2007: 174.5

Yesterday, gained 1/4 lb. to: 174.75

Today.... Happy Day!!!!

2nd weigh in with Going for Gold Club.......

 174.3!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost since December 1, 2007, with Going for Gold Club: 2.2 lbs at last!!!

Total lost: 32.2 lbs.      Gone! Gone! Gone!

Feeling better today, just a little odd, so I'm hoping to learn a lot from the Nutritionist this afternoon. Thanks for the concern, Dances. Smile

I had extra last night due to how I felt, so I need to finish my log today. I had around 1600 instead of my usual 1200-1250 avg. and couldn't exercise!!! Grrr! My legs became VERY sore after walking fast the other day- almost exactly 24 hours later- and I hoped they would peak and clear up after the 48th hour, last night, in time to work in the gym... They didn't... And I got sick...! Still sore today!!! No more fast walking!!!! Undecided

Hope everybody has a good weigh in today- and enjoys it at least half as much as I am at lonnggg last!!!!! WinkLaughing
