Olivia! Don't worry about those numbers! Measure yourself! You know the scale lies (sometimes!) Also, FACTOID - when you workout as your muscles process the lactic acid, they retain water; so unless you sweat your gajungas off, the scale will show an uppage. Give it a few days and the water from your muscles will deplete. Well done on getting into super cute outfit!!! YAY! That always feels soooooooooooooooo good! I want to get back into my jeans. It is one of my mini goals.

zena - yay! on being good at Red Lobster! The stuffed shrooms and cheese biscuits always kill me! But it is your birthday so you deserve to splurge. I have no idea if you burn more calories during your period. I don't see how you would?? I do know you have to go to the bathroom a lot more so you might lose weight that way....

Was VAIR good and did elliptical for 30 minutes and some strength training. Worked the legs and hips and chest. I took a nap earlier so I am so not tired. So now I am cleaning the house. More calories burned! I've got turkey burgers in the oven cooking for lunch tomorrow. Stephie was talking of turkey burgers and it made me go "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!" So I made me some patties. I'll have some of my whole wheat pasta salad to go with.

Bought the exercise bike! Will get it sometime next week, so the bf can be all manly and put it together for me. Can't wait to have it!

Am off for the night. See you guys first thing!

Any idea how many calories a person can burn on the stability ball?

Good job you guys! Especially for being able to go to a great restaurant like Red Lobster and stay within your limit. I have a hard time in my cafeteria, let alone a place where ever option is wonderful. :) I mean... if I went to Outback right now (Im not a seafood person but I figure this is equivalent....) Id probably eat my entire daily calories there... :/ Hahaha I applaud :)

Yay for exercise bikes!

I danced today, it was a good thing. Nothing like the master class, sadly. But not many things compare to being taught by a very famous choreographer... I suppose.

Abs and butts last night went well.

Any ideas of a cardio DVD I could do in a 3 ft sqaure space? thats about the area I have in my dorm room where I can see my tv... Plus I just dont know what cardio DVDS are good...

I like Turbo Jam   3ft is a little cramped but you could do alot of it

Hay everyone and welcome to the newbies!

I ate healthily yesterday until after dinner when I had a small amount of dark chocolate (70% stuff) which I dont think is too bad is it?

Managed to go for a 1mile cycle and 1.5-2 mile jog aswell which was a bonus - Keeping up the exercise for 5 days thing! Although my knee is a little sore today so I will have to make sure I dont push it!

The best thing ever was that someone bought in donuts and chocolate brownies into the office and I actually turned them down!!! I can't believe it I think that is the first time I have ever done that! Really happy! - Big thank you to Katie!!!

Didn't sleep too good and really tired today so hopefully I wont slip. Have a good Wednesday everyone - Its half way through the week!!!

Mish- you could always try a pilates dvd as that is excellent at strengthening core muscles. Although I can't suggest an particular dvd - if anyone has any suggestions I would welcome it.

KP- well done on the workout and cleaning.... excellent. Loving the turkey burgers!!! yummy yummy!!!!

Zena - not sure what the Red Lobster is as I'm a brit but hope you had a good one and a belated happy birthday!!

Olivia - awesome news on the appearance of your muscles, you are definitely doing something right - carry on!!!

Vix- I'm from the UK too!!!

good morning!

got my workout in this morning.. felt pretty good! I'll be SOOOO tired by the end of the week.. I just gotta keep movin through school and when I graduate I should be able to get 7hrs of sleep.. right now I truck pretty steadily on 6 hrs... ugh..

kim- good job suggesting an activity other than food! that can be hard sometimes depending on the friend :)

traci-def. get your exercise in :) even if it's something light, gotta get that bod moving!

puppykisses- welcome aboard! what a bummer that you hate cardio :( but BIG PLUS that you like weights! :D even a fast-paced walk would constitute as "cardio".. just gotta get that heart rate up :) have fun at the wedding!

zena- nicely done at red lobster!! even though you were 400 over your goal, you still HAD to be under your maintenance calories! rock on! no idea about re: stability ball...

amaresmom- I'm a big fan of this group also :)

kp- I had my bf help put my elliptical together.. well, no.. I helped him put it together... lol.. and it was so sweet b/c we didn't have time to finish it when we started and he finished it for me the next day while I was at school :) oh, and my little name tag stands for Court Reporter.. lol... I'm going to school for stenography and the brief for Court Reporter is krrpt :P I love lasagna too! It's hard to take small portions but worth it in the end... good job with lunch! that's why I like chickfila.. I get the grilled chicken sandwich and it's on whole wheat :)

olivia- good job on that tricep muscle! lol... and that outfit sound so cute! wtg with the compliments! :D scales are mean.. just stick to your daily time of weighing.. you'll be much less confused... :P

mich- hooray for feeling thinner!! :D

immom- good job getting that exercise in! keep up the great work! boo on the cold :( try to relax on the intense exercise till you get better, you don't want to make it worse :(

mishellie- yay for dancing :) what a fun way to burn calories :) I like the fat burning workout for dummies.. I can do it in my little apartment :) I'm all over the place and end up working out in the dining room for a minute, but that's ok :)

stephie- dark chocolate is fine in small quantities :) GOOD JOB TURNING DOWN THE OFFICE SWEETS! that is so hard to do sometimes!!

something exciting... my b/f must have gotten a sweet tooth last night b/c I found 3 chocolate wrappers and the cookie tray from the tagalongs (GS cookies... there were only 2 left..) in the trash :) less temptation for me!!

have a good day everybody!!!

Oh my goodness - I totally cannot keep up with everything in this thread, sorry guys, I am being a totally sucky friend.

But anyways, after thinking about it the past few days, I've totally decided what a better way to start my day off with 15 minutes of exercise than to do yoga for 15 minutes?  That is my "new challenge" starting Monday for 2 weeks.  This is going to be great!

Wow Olivia 177 - how freaking cool is that, you've caught up to me, now lets get to the end together!  We can do this!!!  I am doing my little booty (notice how I referred to it as little) dance for you!!!!

jess- it takes a while to catch up :) no worries! yoga sounds like a really great idea!! what a way to wake up!

Jess - I LOVE the idea of yoga in the morning! I think I am going to do this challenge with you! 15 minutes of yoga should be grand! When do we start?

And no worries on the catsup. Some of us have nothing better to do than hang out here! Wink Well, besides work...and school...and TONS of homework...LOL

My official Wednesday weight in:

Week 1: 185.5

Week 2: 186.5 - I'll do better this week
I am starting Monday - cause I am currently doing still working on a new habit, which should be completed this week.

So lets put it into our routine from April 7 through April 20, 15 minutes each morning, for 2 weeks.  Thanks for doing this with me Kpersons!  This will be fun and incentative to keep it up!

OK jess, I will try and do it too. Although I can't promise anything at this stage as it would mean getting up at 6.15 and that is super early for me.

Swimming this evening for me!

Hi Everyone!!

Jess-The post in my journal about the guidelines is not even close to my goals either.  That MIGHT be ok for maintenance and someone doing cardio not attemptin to gain muscle.  Mine is more like 15-25 FAT  25-40  Protein   35-50 carbs.  ACTUALLY this link http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nutrient_cal culator.htm?cals=1896 is better. I am more likely Carb 45, protein 35, fat 20...OR 50/30/20  (I try to keep fat less than 30Grams..usu one day I shake things up.

That website also has a great zig-zagging calculator.

Jess the yoga sounds great. I would like to take a yoga class.  Stephiepops-I love dark chocolate but only occasionally.  KRRPT-haven't been to chikfilA in FOREVER..yummy. KPersons-good luck with the bike...good job on yesterday's work out. Olivia77-Good luck on another smokefree day!

Measured waist and hips--waist down 2 inches, hips down 2.5 inches!! (I am stoked!) 165.4 day 3 TTOM

No worries Jess! I LOVE yoga and, was, in another lifetime, an avid practitioner. I have been meaning to get back into it. This is perfect! After I get my BS in Chemistry I plan on getting a yoga certification. I will try and find some perfect AM poses to post on here. It helps jump start you and you feel energised afterwards. The main thing is holding the poses. I am thinking Downward Facing Dog, Sun Salutation, Warrior 1 and 2, and Chair pose(s)... mebbe Triangle too. Will post on here later this evening.

Steph! I have to get up at 5.30! You better TRY girly! WinkLaughing It's good for your back!

CONGRATS zena on the inches! I am measuirng myself every week too. That way I am not discouraged if the scale doesn't move. Last week I had gained, but lost 2.5 inches overall, so I was happy!

Have to go to class. Will be back later this evenink!

D*mn it..... tried to get out of that one and it didn't work he he! Ok I will give it a go!

Well done Zena!! Woop Woop!!

Anyway Miss Stephie - I gotta get up at 5:15 to make it happen...haha!  just kidding!

I was going to go to a book store and see if I could find a book on yoga this weekend....

Ok ok, you got me. I will do it tomorrow.

How do you manage to stay awake?

I am in, as little late but I will do it.  This is just what I needed!!!!!  !) lbs will put me a 120.  Around where I want to be.  And that is about where I needed to lose that weight by, so perfect.  I just got remotivated today after being in W.V.  I will weigh myself this friday.  Right now I'm 130.

Morning!  You all get going much earlier than me :)  I am on the west coast tho.  Anyway I read this article about willpower and it said some interesting things about exercise and saving money and all that good stuff.  For your reading pleasure:
